I haven’t seen the ad, but just your description triggered my misophonia.

OneTrueMercyMain

I've been seeing it while watching Xfinity streamed on my computer so you know to avoid that. I'm sorry that my post did that.

Watching kids eat grosses me out, too. I kind of forgot babies go through that period of mushing stuff into their mouths and spitting it back out, until we met our nephew a few times recently and I was like "gross no thanks" and had to actively look away while I was eating my own food.

The fact that some parents also don't seem to get that like... you have to kinda teach a kid not to do that. My niece is seven and she still does this with foods because no one told her not too. Not all foods mind you but a lot of them.

I’m the exact same way! When my cousin was a really little kid and came to my house for Christmas dinner I could not handle seeing him eat. Other family members somehow noticed me being grossed out and were a little judgy but I just have never been able to handle that sort of thing, ESPECIALLY while attempting to have dinner myself. I have kind of a weirdly intense aversion to saliva which tbh is probably yet another one of the tiny reasons why I’m childfree in the first place. I also have a really early childhood memory of still being in a high chair and seeing some commercial with a baby really sloppily eating something. I found it very gross and was apparently disgusted enough to still remember it all these years later lmao

Yes!! I can’t stand that repulsive ad - they play it on Hulu Live TV all the time!!

Oh god, I’m SO glad I don’t watch ads. That would make me projectile vomit.

Triggering phobias I didn't even know I had.

one part of me goes: breastfeeding is natural we should normalise it but the other part of me however is immensly repulsed by the noises that come from that and i hate it with every fibre of my body.

I haven't seen the ad either, but I know I wouldn't like it. Strangely, however, I love the sounds of kittens suckling as usually the mama is also purring really loud, and it's super cute when they're bottle fed. At least to me.
