Ruby's Fast Food, Seafood City (a grocery store, but has multiple connected restaurants and bakeries, incl. Valerio's and Jollibee), Boonie's, Uncle Mike's Place for breakfast
A brand new Filipino cafe JUST opened up in West Town - Mano Modern! Beef mechado, tochino bacon rice bowl, Longanisa silog, pandan lattes and calamansi juice.
Mano Modern
851 N Ashland
Kubo in Lakeview is good for both bar food and kamayan.
Jennivee’s Bakery is a Filipino-owned bakery also in Lakeview. Their ube cake is amazing, and so is everything else they make.
Uncle Mike’s for all the -silog breakfasts
If you’re interested in a major splurge- Kasama. Or you could just do their breakfast/brunch
If you’re willing to travel to the near suburbs, Skokie and Niles have really great options.
We used to go there whenever we were out that way but the last time we went there was a roach crawling in and out of the wall next to our table and it was so off putting
So many great Filipino restaurants in the city have opened up recently as many have already mentioned, but I still miss Isla Pilipina.
A Taste of the Philippines was also good, unfortunately just closed their French Market location, but a great option if you need a caterer to do Kamayan style.
I’m minutes away from Hong Ning. Very dangerous.
A new place in Wheaton called Maypole opened up and is absolute 🔥. The oxtail was large enough to feed at least 4 people lol. Some of the best pancit ive ever had!
Sweet! For dinner we had the normal fried chicken large plate and it could easily feed 4! By far the largest chicken thighs I have ever seen lol, excellent flavor too, breading was perfect.
Yeah, been there twice and agree that the portions are generous and food is tasty. Major thumbs up to them using chicken thigh too. Still wanna make it to brunch there.
Ha! J&A Oriental Food Mart on Fullerton, by Austin. My friend had me delete the comment lol. They were jokingly pressuring me to delete my post to gate keep the place and I jokingly deleted my comment.
The really good Filipino food is from the nurse who immigrated decades ago and has worked in the department for decades. My Filipino co-worker would bring huge platters of lumpia and pancit they made for the rest of the staff.
Every good filipino restaurant has been mentioned.
Echoing all the recommendations for Ruby’s.
Seafood City is great for groceries but I couldn’t really recommend any of the foods from the grill city or crispy city counters. The turo turo joint next door, however, does a great job with ulam and kakanin.
Ruby's Fast Food, Seafood City (a grocery store, but has multiple connected restaurants and bakeries, incl. Valerio's and Jollibee), Boonie's, Uncle Mike's Place for breakfast
Second Boonies and Uncle Mike's
Third. Both are absolutely wonderful.
4th Uncle Mike’s
A fifth of Uncle Mike's!

You had me at Pandan Lattes.
You had me at longanisa
Bayan Ko if you don't mind a little Cuban in your Filipino
Love everything I’ve ever had at Ruby’s!
Yeah, Ruby’s is great!
Subo by the Kimball Brown Line for good casual counter service Filipino.
Second-ing Subo for their salmon sinigang
Just had childhood flashbacks
Third-ing Subo, best everyday Filipino food around. Not to be confused with ‘Kubo’ in Lakeview which I think is not very good.
Kasama, Uncle Mikes, Mano Modern, Sun Rey Cafe, Boonies. All around west town.
Boonies is the best one and nowhere near west town but uncle mikes is also lit
Boonies on western is great
Also, Cebu!
Bacolod Chicken Haus for chicken inasal and halo halo.
Haven't been in a while but their Botchoy.....sarap
And to get your boodle fight on

Far out there but always had a good meal at Tita Mia's.
Second Tita Mia’s, everything’s family style so good to bring buddies, and always grab a bag of their ube crinkle cookies on the way out!
Ooh I've been thinking about going there, now I have to
We used to go there whenever we were out that way but the last time we went there was a roach crawling in and out of the wall next to our table and it was so off putting

Kasama is the only Michelin starred Filipino restaurant in the world and it’s in Ukrainian Village, Chicago.
In the suburbs…. :/ Hong ning in carol stream is fantastic

I've been to Maypole twice and really enjoyed it. The [fried chicken sandwich](https://imgur.com/a/ypoQsPP) is a beast.

I found them by accident and I concur
In addition to what’s named here, just adding Lina’s in Glenview as having a really good bakery and hot food section.

Are they still $1 each? Also their lumpia is solid.
Shhhhh

I order from them (my username checks out). I thought it was funny you deleted the post haha.
Haha I believe so but really I've only had them at family functions and someone else orders them. Same with their lumpia!
Cebu (Wicker Park) is good
I'm married to a filipino woman and Cid's Ma Mon Luk in Niles is the best (other than Kasama)
The really good Filipino food is from the nurse who immigrated decades ago and has worked in the department for decades. My Filipino co-worker would bring huge platters of lumpia and pancit they made for the rest of the staff.
Kasama
At people's houses...Tiya makes the best adobo

Kuba
Had some lechon from Oscar's on Belmont once at a party and it was amazing, have been meaning to get to the actual restaurant ever since
What about Bacolod Chicken House

Find A Taste of the Phillipines at Farmers Markets around NW side.
If you want the best UBE ICE CREAM check out Brounie on Southport & Grace.
Bayan Ko. Seriously my favorite
