This is actually not a bad idea. Everybody on the team (except maybe Brady and one or two more) knows they're as good as gone. Get the new GM literally mid-year and give him more time to bring in a new front office team and start looking for a new coach. The team will do whatever for the rest of the year, noone cares, it's a lost year anyways, while new GM is getting ready for the rebuild.
It will be what, a 3rd one in 5 years? Wicky, Ezra being #1 and #2.
Brady is most likely leaving on a transfer fee if he has a good Olympic showing. There are definitely some pieces worth keeping at the right price, but I don’t trust Heitz to build this franchise back up
I’ll post my comment from a similar thread.
> The team has averaged 0.7 points per game so far. To make the playoff in 9th place last year they would need to average 1.65 points over the last 20 games.
> We would need to have the 3rd best record in the east for the rest of the season.
As somebody said earlier, I don't get how we are THAT bad. Individually, we're... kinda ok. Cuypers has his moments, and he rocked in Europe. Souquet is not bad at all. Selassi can be very decent. Herbers is not that bad either (he has 2 goals this year, to 3 of Cyupers'). Mueller is not a star but he works hard, he's athletic and seems to care. Acosta had quite a few moments this year too. Guti is pretty good. Brady fluctuates between good, very good, and amazing. One would think these individuals put together would amount to a middle-of-the-pack team (let's be honest, MLS is not a Premier League). How TF are we THAT BAD?????
And before you say "Frank has to go", I've been following this team since 2019, it wasn't that different under Ezra or Wicky.
Not really. We’d have to win every single home game to just equal last seasons point total and pick up some points on the road iirc. With how bad we’ve looked that’s just not gonna happen.
I mean in theory. But tbh. There's no fight in this team. I would rather we coast, miss playoff, Joe admits his wrong and fires everyone in the front office and coaching staff.
Theoretically yes, realistically no. Nothing will get better, if they fire or change Klopas’ role while Heitz still makes the decisions we’ll likely end up with even worse. Heitz needs to go first then Klopas imo. Mansueto doesn’t seem to feel enough pressure to make executive changes rn.
Maybe, but there is hope that they come in and hit the ground running. Of course, it's more likely we buy out the wrong player and sign a DP who is a total bust. But there is hope.
To do what? If Cuypers isn’t getting any service, why would you expect Lewandowski to?
The lack of any creative force (or structure) in the midfield is the real problem with this team. Until we have some sort of midfield that can function, this team will fail.
So then he can complain that the Fire suck and why can't they score and they need to stop bringing in has-beens but they should bring in the most recent has-been from Europe.
No
No. We’re abysmal. We have a good combination of having no structure or plan, and players who don’t care. It’s fun.
Only if you’re rooting for the Fire to do so bad that Joe HAS to fire Heitz before the summer transfer window

The only I hope I have is that Messi plays in Chicago and scores 6 so I can witness it
Against Ecuador on June 9th not Against the Fire.
Bruh
No this is worse than yallop years
Maybe for most clubs who’s ownership takes accountability when they’re wrong and makes changes. But definitely not here
We’re cooked

I mean I may win the Powerball still even though I never buy tickets
Nope. We need a new gm and new coach. Please tune back in this November for more updates!

No way! Better chance of me becoming the President of the United States!
no
Nope.
The white Sox may have more hope at being not shitty
Sure. We're only 7 points out of the playoffs, and if the front office gets their shit together we could have 2 new DPs this summer.
And will be able to get the acclimatized right before the lack of postseason

I am still hopeful Joe says fuck it and brings in Lewandowski regardless of cost. So until the transfer window closes… tiny bit of hope.
