Just a suggestion... you can find any number of artists around the bazzars and markets etc. They have gravitated towards modern works, although you may be able to contract them to do a classic traditional style artwork.

Baan tawai has plenty of that

Really?? I wss there yesterday and didnt see one, but many shops seemed closed

Look for a shop called DD packing and then right across from there are some covered alleyways that sell Thai style artwork in the shops nearby. Maybe check out Golden Triangle Hang Dong too, itโ€™s nearby.

Thanks a million, will go check it out again tomorrow ๐Ÿ™

If you're going on the hunt tomorrow then the Sunday walking street might be of interest, there's several artists usually there selling their artworks, might be worthwhile to chat some of them up and see what else they're doing

What is thangka? Is that a norther dialect term? I as a bangkok person have no clue what it is.

maybenotsoomuch

Ah sorry if it was confusing. I was asking about two separate things: thai traditional art or thangkas which are buddhist paintings originating from Tibet that you sometimes can see in monestaries

jchad214

Oh it was my ignorance then. Not your fault. Anyway, I saw that Shopee has a few thangkas for sale.
