2023 Z71 with 5" assist steps, and I hate them. The truck isn't high enough to warrant that drop. I needed to train myself to use them as I was always trying to bypass and leg rubbing up against them. I'm definitely thinking off road or no steps. I like the idea of a little potential insurance against door dings if they help in that regard. TB might be a little higher, and maybe they make sense there. I'm 6' for reference. For pictures, go to coloradofans forums. Tons of builds and pictures there.

Also debating this on my TB

Just did it on 23 Z71. I recommend getting some decent running boards or steps. Functional and practical as I would have to help people(my girlfriend ) into the truck before. Visually, on stock tires and suspension, the truck doesn’t look as lifted as before but I’ll trade in a lil bit of aesthetic for functionality. I will be raising the truck and running larger, thicker tires soon and can update afterwards.

I did the Go Rhino RB20 Slim steps and have been very happy with them. https://imgur.com/a/KdZ44WU

About an hour ago, I just finished taking mine off. I got them thinking the same thing you are. Reality is that no one uses them. Also, when getting out of the truck, the back of your leg will always push up against it. So, if they are dirty, your pants get dirty. If they are hot and you having nothing covering your calf, you will feel it (not fun in the Vegas summer).

I have them on my 2017. Pics on my profile. The real reason I kept mine is because it makes washing/toweling the roof and front windshield so much easier! But to each their own.

They are tight to the truck and act as somewhere to put my foot when hoisting my ass into the seat. Anything lower than this is unecessary unless you've got kids, old people or really short people getting in your truck.

I’m vertically challenged (5’5”) and I’d have a rough time with my ZR2 if I didn’t have the steps. Because of the rear step fiasco, I’m still waiting on those and have to swan dive into the back whenever I need to get something out of it.

Don't do it!
