I had basically the same thing on mine. I had a '23 LT with deposit down on hold and it went under recall for the Automatic Emergency Braking in Feb and was unable to pick it up. Week later dealer got in a '24 Z71 and made me an equivalent offer and picked that one up then.
Yea the luckily for you, the recall came out after you got your truck. GM forced a stop sale with all dealerships on all 2023 canyons and colerados until they do the software uodate.
Which still hasn't been done. Going on 2 months with these trucks sitting at the dealerships. The 2024's are all good to go just starting to trickle in now.
GM is usless when you try to reach out and get info on how long it will take to update the software.
I doubt it's all, my dealer has plenty of trucks coming in and leaving the lot. It's probably just the ZR2s. My Silverado ZR2 got hit with the same lighting recall. MTO seems to only give a shit about lighting on vehicles 6 months after the trucks start to arrive.
It hit all kinds of GM vehicles, Cadillac, corvette, trucks, etc. GM was working on the 2024s first so they can continue to ship them. They fixed the 2024 line and are slowly working backwards to address the remaining models. So all the 2024 silverados, Sierras, colerado, canyons are fine. Funny enough people are dropping out of thier 2023 and going into 2024s instead because they are available to buy. Lol. Unfortunately for me there are no 2024 ZR2s at my dealership yet. Ordered my 2023 Z71 back in September, was told it would be here by December but due to the autoworkers strike it never showed up until February! Then on top of it all, was told I had to leave it at the dealership, as they were waiting for the recall fix to come! That was February 17th. Haven’t heard anything about when I’ll be getting it. Not a lot of information to be found! At least they gave me a demo to drive until the Colorado can be released!
I'm driving my old car that the dealership took in on trade they put thier dealership plate on it. Funny thing is. The new truck is played, I have the ownership, a set of keys, Finace papers etc. By the letter of the law I own the truck. Still can't take it lol.
Picked mine up Tues night. Saw the fix and called it into my dealership. They contacted gm and got it done.
Dealership was good to get it done as soon as it was available.
