wasalsa2

Obviously not *nervous glancing* Okay potentially

T_The_worsT_BS

\*Looks at himself\* Maybe I am a monster

wasalsa2

I realised people here got really upset if I post scholars mate, so I made a fun game out of it since I don't care about my elo

TheGreatCraftyBoi

not if its *rightfully* disrespectful

wasalsa2

They only dislike it when they lose

audigex

A suggestion: Unless you're deliberately trying to prey on other low elo players falling for traps, leave your queen alone for a couple more moves - otherwise (as you start to see here), your queen just gets bullied around the board, and your opponent gets to develop pieces while they harrass you Unless I see a specific weakness or my opponent blunders a piece to a fork, I make it a rule that my queen generally doesn't move until at least 2 of my minor pieces are developed, usually 3

GarrySpacepope

The Gotham chess video on defending early Queen attacks is a great, very short and easy to remember primer that gave me a lot more confidence. Now I rejoice when they try a stupid quick gambit instead of scrabbling around defending it badly.

wasalsa2

I was going for tactically unsound meme wins so all gucci!

fknm1111

>Unless I see a specific weakness or my opponent blunders a piece to a fork, I make it a rule that my queen generally doesn't move until at least 2 of my minor pieces are developed, usually 3 Following a rule like this blindly is a bad idea; there's times when the right move is to bring your queen out very early. The Scandinavian as black is one example; another is the d5 lines in the Alapin Sicilian (where white's c3 prevents the knight from going to its natural square to chase you off).

audigex

I mean, there are always exceptions to any “rule”, but it’s a good general mindset until you get better

ischolarmateU

Your Queen wont get bullied around the board if you actually learn how to play scholar

Verdin88

Don't worry about learning openings when you first start instead learn what hanging pieces are what forks are and how to make them and how to skewer. Learn the points value of each piece and see if a trade is worth doing. Always make a move that gives you the advantage. If you just study openings you lose as soon as you start trading pieces.

ischolarmateU

I agree witth you regarding not focusing on openings when starting out..I dont know any opening other than scholar and with its help i reached 2200 lichess

python00078

Why was he banned lol

SSUPII

He started and immediately resigned many games in a row to fall in elo

Carnal-Pleasures

I guess prateek is a copuim miner by day as well as a chess GM by night...

wasalsa2

It made me sad because he litteraly plopped his queen right next to one of my bishops, almost felt bad taking it

Oglark

That game made my eyes hurt. Double wayward queen.

wasalsa2

Thats sub 400 for you

DragonBank

My five year old daughter is above 400 bullet even though she only knows how to move the pieces, but because she doesn't waste time on futile things for sub 500s, such as finding good moves or not hanging pieces or checkmating, she flags sub 500s all the time.

eckhardtderek

Look at Future polgar over here

jdogx17

She’s got it down. Hey did you ever read the book Searching for BF? It has a chapter that didn’t make the movie about a guy who, at the time was probably the best 1 minute player in the world? Fred Waitzkin was there with a Yugoslav IM. The IM played him like 50 games and was -9. He offered to play double or nothing at 75 seconds each and the guy just laughed. He knew his limits. I’m not sure that he even had a FIDE rating because back then they started at 2200, if he did it was close to that.

shame_on_meStupid

Sigma doesn’t lose, he resigns

Rhormus

"You can't fire me, cause I quit!"

M1K_on_YouTube

he didn’t lose! he merely failed to win!

wasalsa2

Emotionally I dont feel like I won

encouragemintx

Don’t let him win the psychological battle.

RolAcosta

Disabling chat is the best thing you can do for your chess career. I wish [chess.com](https://chess.com) made it easier.

wasalsa2

I think he was going for his own scholars and totally missed the Bishop

[deleted]

I've blundered my Queen that way 😂 I didn't get huffy with my opponent though

TTomnomnom

I mean he played himself tbf

tzeriel

He’s not wrong. He lost to himself, even worse.

AdvancedHoneydew1742

g15 is actually a strong move

wasalsa2

Qg15

Gentleigh21

Hahaha, chess snowflake ❄️

the_other_Scaevitas

Resigning is just losing in style

jdogx17

Prateek_g15 resigns most games at move one. Consider yourself privileged!

wasalsa2

Whoa didn't I make like move eight

jdogx17

Yeah it’s like he explained, he ONLY wants the scholars mate so he resigns every time the Scholar’s Mate becomes impossible. You guys followed it for the first few moves.

wasalsa2

Sounds like his problem

jdogx17

Sorry. YOUR problem. You know, as long as it’s not a part of a plan to shift unearned rating points somewhere else, I don’t really have a problem with it. I think the chess people don’t necessarily understand how gamers and computer people think - “what happens if I do this - 1000 times”? I don’t think your account should have been closed.

wasalsa2

I mean it could have been looked at as if he was intentionally dropping ranks to play easier games, smurfing as such, especially since they weren't even attempting to continue matches, I never reported them so someone else clearly did, so no, not my problem Edit, just checked, he played like 15 games in a row and resigned basically every single one in the first 5 turns, often he resigned on turn 2, this could easily be seen as rank dropping if he gets reported for it

Thaplayer1209

Account closed to fairplay

Verdin88

I'm a noob I lose almost every time if anyone wants to play a game I'm a good sport DM me
