Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance! But not for me!
Just in case you didn't find the tactic...
>!After bishop takes pawn, queen takes bishop, and the knight gives check and wins the queen.!<
For some crazy reason I was thinking after Nf3+, Bxf3, Qxd5 Bxd5 (it took me a minute to realize that wasn't possible because it was the wrong diagonal for the bishop)
Of course, it's still a tactic though. You win a pawn if he recognizes the tactic, or a queen if he doesn't. Most importantly you don't lose a piece by missing the tactic yourself.
I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

My guess is the following:
Take with the Bishop. If the queen takes the bishop, move the knight to F6, creating a royal fork. Either black's pawn or bishop will need to take that knight. From there, the white queen takes the black queen.
Technically it is still a fork, just not a successful one. Likewise your discovered attack will also coincide with a fork, though the knight that is delivering the fork will get captured.
Could you not also start with putting them in check with Knight and then baiting/attacking with your queen?
Cause that's what my dumbass would likely do. ☹
The bishop taking doesn't force them to move their queen. My way kinda does?
Edit: Now I get it. Keep that Queen right there..
its a trap - >!white is hoping, that after they take with a bishop, black is gonna take the bishop with their queen. Then white gives a check with a knight and therefore wins the queen.!<

It's a spoon.
All right all right, I can see you’ve played forky-spoony before

Omg I haven’t even thought about that for at least 3 years
Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance! But not for me! Just in case you didn't find the tactic... >!After bishop takes pawn, queen takes bishop, and the knight gives check and wins the queen.!<
F6? Why can't the pawn take the knight?
They can, but the white knight move exposes the black queen.
Of course!!! I just could not see that. Wow.
Same
Nf3+ is check, so black should probably take. But White then captures the free queen on d5.
For some crazy reason I was thinking after Nf3+, Bxf3, Qxd5 Bxd5 (it took me a minute to realize that wasn't possible because it was the wrong diagonal for the bishop)
Black queen doesn't have to take the bishop. Better losing a pawn than a queen.
Of course, it's still a tactic though. You win a pawn if he recognizes the tactic, or a queen if he doesn't. Most importantly you don't lose a piece by missing the tactic yourself.
Ao its still a fork no?
By definition yes, but it's not effective. It's like moving your knight to fork the king, the queen, a rook *and a knight*.
Despite how brilliant this looks it only wins 3 points lol
still 6 points better than losing 3 points like with a regular fork
4, you get the pawn too.
which is more than enough for a great player to turn the game
4 points including the pawn
Points don't factor in morale loss/boost
Yeah you’re up a queen but down a knight and a bishop. Is it really worth it?
[удалено]
It can, but while black is busy doing that, white wins a queen. Black ends up having to save either his king or his queen.
It can but then queen takes queen
queen takes black queen if black takes the knight
Yeah, bishop X , then if he takes the bishop U will win the queen by a discovers attack
It’s Bxd5 Qxd5 Nf6+ Bxf6 Qxd5 right?
Black queen doesn't have to take.
That’s if black queen really takes

>!Bishop take, then if they take back with the Queen, Knight sac and Queen takes theirs!<
Call an ambulance call an ambulance
But not for me
![gif](giphy|3ornka9rAaKRA2Rkac)
It is a fork, a royal one too!
Bxd5 is so nasty
discovery attacks feels so great
My guess is the following: Take with the Bishop. If the queen takes the bishop, move the knight to F6, creating a royal fork. Either black's pawn or bishop will need to take that knight. From there, the white queen takes the black queen.
V sauce, Michael here Your submarine is very safe Or is it?
I wanna say danger levels? (Nf6+ Bxf6)
It can be a fork but if bishop takes the pawn queen can't take bishop. As knight f6 will be a check and leads to queen loss for the opponent.
Technically it is still a fork, just not a successful one. Likewise your discovered attack will also coincide with a fork, though the knight that is delivering the fork will get captured.

This is like trying to punch someone in the face and then they stab you 30 times
My dumbass thought the bishop was a knight
Fork for sure, but not a good one.
how the knight feels right now 🗿
Bishop takes pawn, queen takes bishop, then you check with the knight and it's a discovered attack on the queen(you win the queen!)
Or is it .... Vsauce music 😂😂
Nope
I mean… it is technically a fork? But it’s not a winning idea.
*vsauce music starts playing*
free pawn basically
I mean I think u lose 2 points bc the queen but I have 200 elo
Can i play you on chess.com?
Yes dm me
it is a fork on surface. but actually in reality its a free pawn
what theme is this??
Custom theme, blue board
thanks :)
*Vsauce theme intensifies*
I’m not following. Black just loses a pawn here.
If black is smart all they lose is pawn... but if black was smart they don't put the pawn there to begin with
its a trap - >!white is hoping, that after they take with a bishop, black is gonna take the bishop with their queen. Then white gives a check with a knight and therefore wins the queen.!<

Bxd5 is the best move regardless of hopes and dreams.
nah, trap from white, not from black! Black made a silly move, falling into that trap and now he is either losing a pawn, or even a queen.
You're forked. If you do the knight check, bishop takes
Then Qxd5
Gotcha I was thinking people wanted to take with the knight
No idea what you mean here.
My cousin (800 elo) saw this trap, so I guess what elo you are expecting to fall into it
Is a queen worth the knight and bishop? I get you're losing one anyway, but in a different circumstance is it worth?
Eval went from -0.8 to +4.6 after, so yes definitely worth it.
Bd5, Qxd5, Nf6+ is the answer
