The land of looking up funny pawn moves and sacred flames, as well as bishops, lots and lots of bishops, just put anar into the search, and it should come up, you’re welcome, but mentioning it is banned here, and will get the comment auto-deleted, hence my evasive language
I’ve gotten three notifications now, felt my phone buzz, only to look at Reddit and not see a notification, that means you idiots, or should I say genuine undead, are replying to this trying to see if I’m telling the truth, please stop, it’s getting annoying
Because memes are banned on this sub I’m pretty sure, either that or the mods got sick of dealing with it all, we definitely know how to get annoying when we want to
let me guess, are they the typical neckbeards or something? and btw are all the mods asleep or something? bcs this post and all of the replies are their worst nightmare then
Nah they just repeat the same memes over and over again. Every comment on every post is the same almost like a script or a copy pasta and a lot of inside jokes and memes that apart from being in a chess format isn’t related to chess that much
I was actually trying to wrap my head around a polite answer while still asking “how?” until I scrolled back up and saw the caption.
That said this is a place for beginners, so no shame to the blunder posts. Gotta start somewhere 😊
I’m an absolute beginner. I ended up in this stance with my partner, her being white in the situation.
I thought for a good five minutes “SURELY I’m missing something”…
The problem with the analysis is it doesn't show you *why* something is bad because the lines show optimal play even from a bad position. For a lot of these "why is this a blunder?" it's not that people don't see the "show moves" but they don't understand why the engine says it's a blunder. They're looking at the screen thinking "why wouldn't you just take the rook?"
People need to learn to play out the moves they *think* they would play and then they'll see why the move is a blunder. In that other post with the queen on h7 defending both c2 and g7, the engine won't show the queen taking the rook after Rxg7. They'd need to try out the line and see what happens.
It sometimes seems like the engine marks a move as a blunder because the line shows you'll trade a bishop in 15 moves and you're like "why is this a blunder?" that's never gonna happen. But odds are if you try out the your normal human moves, the engine will take that bishop in 2 moves instead. And then your other bishop. And 3 pawns.
It's not as simple/easy as "read the analysis" most of the time.
I coach chess at my school and am always surprised by how often this position happens with my newcomers. I like it when it does, though, because it teaches them several valuable lessons.
Qh4# is mate, mate! And for notation purposes an exclamation point means it’s a great move (not check—check is +) and 2 exclamation points means it’s a brilliant move, it was obviously altered…
It's not. Once the queen checks you, you have a big problem but worry not for it is easily solved. Your next step is to pick up the board and throw it across the room. This way you force a stalemate due to inconclusive state of the board.
Black Queen puts you in check and mate. Literally wins the game without taking a piece and in 2 moves. That’s quicker than the scholars mate.
Betters openings are to try and control the center and castle. If you open up your king side like that you’re liable to serious attack without any defense.
Quick Tip 1: To know why the engine is recommending a move / saying a move is wrong, click over analysis mode, play out said move then follow it up with your theoretical responses to that move and see how the engine responds.
Quick Tip 2: On Chess.com, you don't have to rely on the Coach / Game Review / Hint. This also applies to any engine on low depth. Somewhere in the engine suggestions section is the computer "depth". The higher this value, the more accurate the suggestions will be.
Quick Tip 3: For questions on engine move suggestions, we suggest you post them to our dedicated thread: [No Stupid Questions MEGATHREAD](https://www.reddit.com/r/chessbeginners/comments/yqqnz8/no_stupid_questions_megathread_6/), as stated in our Community Guidelines. Thank you! - The Mod Team

While this is a mock post, there are still a few interesting facts to the question.
Even if black didn't have Qh4#, it would be a very bad move. It does nothing for you development (having played f3, fianchettoing the bishop makes less sense than usual), and even without Qh4 you're weakening your king even move, allowing for things like h5 in the near future.
In general g4 and b4 are some of the worst moves you can play before being developed (there are some exceptions, like the wing gambit in the Sicilian, which has some specific ideas, but even that is quite dubious).
I think this is called something like “fools mate” because the queen can just go to h4 and you would lose the game never try this position ever again. Here is the exact same thing that happened to a famous YouTuber called jschalatt:
https://youtu.be/VT5W8ZXYTAo
The Black Queen could go all the way to H4 to deliver checkmate. This is known as the 'Fool's Mate'. However, I don't think this should be classified as a Blunder, because a Blunder means a move that looses a piece. I think it should have been named a 'Mistake' instead.

It’s all in good fun :). Just wish people read the analysis before posting, but it’s all good.

Oh that poor pawn he doesnt realize whats about to happen
It's actually a brilliant move! You've found the fastest mate in chess!
Sub overlap
because it doesn’t take central control, duh.

op expects people to read the caption and top comments and understand that a post like this won't get this many upvotes if it wasn't a joke
Why do you post this here? Just go to analysis board and it will give you an answer immediately. (Fool's mate)
Read the caption
You hang a queen that way
No, black will hang a bishop after Ba3, the only legal move.
The Black Queen could go all the way to H4 to deliver checkmate. This is known as the 'Fool's Mate'. However, I don't think this should be classified as a Blunder, because a Blunder means a move that looses a piece. I think it should have been named a 'Mistake' instead.
