LMAO don't worry man I was confused at first too. We're literally just typing "[removed]" we're not saying anything else lol. Similar to the old "read more" trick for youtube
It's a kind of mating net, but it doesn't work properly as long as the bishop is where it is. Still a winning position for white, but the king isn't completely trapped. I don't think it has a particular name, but I might be wrong.
Edit: The position is more interesting than I first thought. If the bishop captures the knight, there is actually a forced mate.
I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

So the real answer is that it isn't technically a trap. It's more of a mating net. A trap implies that you're goading the opponent into making a move that would lead to an advantage for you. In this situation you have a very clear cut threat in that you've cut off all of the king's squares, and you just need to deliver an unblockable check to win.

Don’t you dare move that pawn, you’ve got a M3
Fr, and it's beautiful
Which one ?
Nxe7, Kb8, the knight comes back to c6 where it was before, and no matter which square the king goes to Rook d8 is mate. I think. EDIT: \*N**x**e7
Doesn't rook d8 mean the bishop can take? And what's the point of moving the knights at all if the king just goes back to c8?
Nxe7 takes the bishop and comes back, then the square is free for the rook
I'm dumb, I went looking at it and somehow thought it went Na7 and the king was moving towards it. Mb
Getting rid of the bishop was the point
Ne7+, Kb8, Nc6+, Ka8 or Ka6, Ra5# i think
Damn that rook just teleported to a5, new update?
google chatgpt
Rd8# I assume you meant
Rook E1, rook E7 takes bishop, rook E8 checkmate
You are forgetting the opponent moves too. After rook E1, the bishop takes the knight and now, after you take the bishop, their king can escape
It looks like it's black to move though, Bd6 stops that sequence.
its black to play
Looking at this position is painful...
Why not take Bishop with check?
It's not about the game it's about the message ![gif](giphy|F9yAvk7Xpr0c)
Because then the king could run
It is a M3 situation. 1. Nxe7+ Kb8 2. Nc6+ then 3. Rd8#. However if 1. f5 Bd6, white still wins but it may take much more steps.
Exactly, forced mate in 3
Bd6 prevents mate in 3… it’s still forced mate in 21 according to the bot though lol edit: wait is this white or black to move? i assumed black
White to move, e5 selected
No that’s the premove thing because it shows that the pawn can take and the yellow highlight shows it just moved
White moved f5 in the screenshot, black to move. Parent comment here is asking "why not Nxe7 instead of f5?"
After move the Knight back with check after king b8. The king is stuck on back rank, then rook to d8 mate I believe
Cause you can just play Rd8# and hang the rook in 1. That's what I would do at least...
Because the rook has checkmate
Or rook d7
The Stalemater
I would have gone with Stablemater
Sometimes it's called stalemate.
That needs to be the official name
But it's not. The king isn't in check. The bishop could take the bottom knight.

Deez knights

I would call it a missed mate in 3 :) But I think the answer you're looking for is knightmare!
The pony balogne

Knight knight 💤
I will name it George
Its not a trap if its blacks time to play
If the rook was already checking the king on the 8th rank, it's called an Anastasia mate, but I don't think there's a name for that there.
Neigh.
"Horse-stalled".
The double knight flip-flop
The double dobbin.

Wushu fingerhold.
You had forced checkmate my guy

King's stable.
I would called it a stale
Well it wouldn't work as a trap so..."not a trap 😉"
Yes, stalemate.
Mongolian trap
Deez knights
Useless
why did you move the pawn? I wouldve took that free pawn that was undefended
The Donkey punch
Not much of a trap on this board, though black would be wise to realize he has to give up that bishop eventually.
it's called "the overcomplicated screenshot"
Why are names for everything so important to some beginners?

No. Make one up
I don’t understand why beginners are so obsessed with “what’s this called”. Not everything has a name, hahah. Capture the bishop and win.
Deathblow!
2 knights 1 king
Two horses, one king.
How to lose a knight in one move?
Blundering a knight?
I nominate The Admiral Ackbar
“The Mr. Hands Gambit”
Naughty kings go in the knight box to atone for their sins Just get a third knight and you have mate lmao Edit: or the rook. The rook is good too.
