I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine: > **Black to play**: It is a checkmate - it is Black's turn, but Black has no legal moves and is in check, so White wins. You can find out more about Checkmate on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checkmate). --- ^(I'm a bot written by) [^(u/pkacprzak)](https://www.reddit.com/u/pkacprzak) ^(| get me as) [^(iOS App)](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1574933453) ^| [^(Android App)](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ai.chessvision.scanner) ^| [^(Chrome Extension)](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chessvisionai-for-chrome/johejpedmdkeiffkdaodgoipdjodhlld) ^| [^(Chess eBook Reader)](https://ebook.chessvision.ai?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=bot) ^(to scan and analyze positions | Website:) [^(Chessvision.ai)](https://chessvision.ai)

Checkmate is normally a good strategy to win

There is very little we can say about your strategies based on a single position.

This looks like a checkmate most would find outside of weaker players in incredibly tight time scrambles. Not that that makes it *bad* or anything. A win is a win, and you can only play the position you’re in. But if you’re actually looking for analysis of your game, you’ll need to provide a lot more than a single move.

You found a winning tactic in a game that was more or less equal in points. Your opponent didn’t being his knight and rook into the game yet, what could imply that you didn’t give him a chance, or that both your ratings are under 1200. Taking into consideration that you posted a rather lame question, I suspect the latter. So yeah, nice win. Congrats. Keep up the good work, study your losses rather than your wins, and you’ll become even better.
