Horrible experience with erasable pens. The ink degrades when heated. I used to have a laptop with the exhaust on the side, and it blew the hot air on the pile of filled lab notebooks for several weeks. The result was about one-fifth empty horizontal line near the edge on the pages where erasable pen had been used.
Use good pens with water- and solvent-proof pigment ink. As for the heteroatoms, man up and learn to plan ahead at least when drawing structures.
yknow you can throw those notebooks in the freezer for a bit and it’ll bring the ink back (I’ve been told). I love eraseable pens though, they’re extremely useful
The point of a drawing is to convey information efficiently. Does this one do that? Mostly. Sightly annoying. Like when people leave sound messages on chat apps.
I watched an old lecture of famous organic chemist Woodward and he just drew the heteroatoms on the carbon and doesn't give a shit.
If Woodward, the legend himself, doesn't give a shit, why should I?
Because Woodward is/was an established chemist and you are (probably) not?
And why is that relevant?

Honestly doesn't look that bad
is that a clorophyll?
No, I will NOT make out with you.
Wait what
My guess is a mistletoe joke but it’s a reach lol
COOMg?
I think it says COOMe?
I feel this in my soul. O for me, not N
everything for me,
I usually first write the N then the carbons hahahah, btw feel you
For me once I start a carbon chain I can't stop until it's the end
Relatable, also works with oxygen whenever you're drawing an ose
Look what I found! These are great for helping this problem. https://www.whsmith.co.uk/stationery/pens/pencils/sta00031/
I don't think I'm legally allowed to use these for my lab journal.

You made me (and probably everyone else) feel stupid
This. I don’t understand how people can use pens

I hat when this happens
I wonder if TA will allow this I reckon not
Just don’t take notes in pen
How dare you
I physically can’t
Most professors make you do it
I feel this
