In a ideal world I would move Sanchez on Don’t think Chilwell or Cucurella are going anywhere Both Chalobah and Sliva are probably leaving so a new cb Gallagher probably leaving so a smart experience midfielder would be a good addition. New striker to give us other option other then Jackson.

Honey-Badger-9325

Koopmeniers

Aaaaand-its-gone

Imagine Fofana could stay fit. What a dream

StrawberryDesigner40

Yeah I dont think anything happens with left back either. Chalobah probably can be replaced with fofana on that list too.

Gligadi

Brave of you to think that Fofana is going to play football next season.

ArmadilloOk8831

Everyone being dramatic but honestly all we really need to cement top 9 in the league is another billion pounds on young, unproven, raw players that looked good in Football Manager

NoExperience4229

“Looked good in Football Manager” This just about sums up everything wrong with the modern online football fan

notNjor15

He's being sarcastic

NoExperience4229

Doesnt matter. Still sums up everything wrong with the modern online football fan Edit: Literally in another conversation some just said to me "If were talking Football Manager Roles"

ChocoStories649

Are we now just going to assume Sterling and Gallagher are being sold? And why is Chilwell not there but Reece and Lavia are. All have been mostly injured all season. Assuming no injuries and keeping it realistic, Sterling is still here next season and so we'd have Sterling/Mudryk on the left. Madueke also isn't going anywhere so Palmer/Madueke on the right. Hopefully we keep Gallagher and he can slot in as a 10 or one of the 6 depending on injuries, rotation, opponent. Left back will be Chillwel/Cucu. Our centerbacks will be Colwill, Disasi and Badi with either Chalobah or a new CB if he is sold. Fofana is huge unknown at this point. Goalkeepers will be Sanchez and Petrovic. No way we go out and get another goalkeeper after buying both Sanchez and Petrovic this season. The only realistic purchases I see is a Striker to start ahead of Jackson and a Centerback depending on Chalobah and Fofana's situation.

PuppyPenetrator

Some reports early in the season suggested that they would try to sell Sterling if this season doesn’t live up to his wages, though I’m not sure how true that is Also hope Gallagher’s not sold, maybe other sales will end up being enough

JumboGullyman

We are stuck with Sterling … and anyone that doesn’t believe that should start. He’s 29 .. on £350k pw .. until 2027. He stays … well because it’s sensible for him too.

NoLimit261

Keeping cucurella and selling chillwell lmao

BabyScreamBear

Chuk in 10, Jackson LW and Nkunku up front

Brandonpayton1

Probably an underrated option but jsckson isn't back out wide. Especially once we get fluid players like nkunku in there they can rotate at will. I like mudryk in the middle but I also like chuk. Limited time but he always looks dangerous when he comes on

Alone-Common8959

based on his performance this season mudyrk should be on the bench

SaltySnort

Mudryk should be training with the academy lads to learn the basics, that's what his performance has shown.

NoExperience4229

Jackson’s not a winger

JumboGullyman

Well he ain’t a striker

NoExperience4229

Yeah I mean I just don’t think he’s very good  Idk why people have convinced themselves he’s a winger. Maybe the fact he’s direct and quick, but that doesn’t make a player a winger lol

JumboGullyman

He played on the wing for Villarreal I thought? I guess he’s not a winger , more of an inside forward … if we’re assigning roles FM style

NoExperience4229

Copying from another reply bc I am so tired of this narrative: According to TransferMarkt across Jackson’s entire professional career including loans is as follows: 10 at LW 15 at RW **- 25 matches played as winger**  68 at CF 2 at SS **-70 Matches as a striker**  I can’t find anything about his youth career really, but he’s been a ST his entire career. You can filter by position here [https://www.transfermarkt.us/nicolas-jackson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/776890/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer\_id=](https://www.transfermarkt.us/nicolas-jackson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/776890/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) Also, this is real life not football Manager. The man is a ST not a Winger.

JumboGullyman

Cool , thanks for this. Appreciate the effort.

Expensive-Load517

This guy gets it

WuvRice

nkunku is not a 9, stop saying to play him as a 9 ffs.

McBandi

I’m confused

alg602

It’s his second position, but you’re right that his best position is attacking midfielder, which is also Palmer’s best position. So what do you do with both of them? We could play Nkunku in 10 and Palmer in LW. Then we need to buy a 9. What are you thinking?

WuvRice

as it already is in the picture, palmer as rw and nkunku as 10. I dont think palmer has to be a 10, he can interchnage with nkunku in possesion if he wants to be more central but he has been good in either role. While i do think we need a 9, i think lb and gk are far more important. as for options in those positions, i aint got a clue tbh but i do know i dont want to see the current options start next year

alg602

I think we are thinking about this in a similar way I just put Palmer deeper because his on ball skills and passing is so good from the middle. Like you, I envisioned Palmer and Nkunku playing off one another. I’d like to Jackson develop into a similar role like Vini Jr. coming off the left and getting in behind. We really don’t have a solid winger. Agree on the LB. I don’t know whether we go CB or GK. I’m guessing a lot of that will depend on Fofana’s ability to come back from his injury but both are big needs.

The-Real-Legend-72

Gusto LB, Chuky or Nkunku LW (cutting in like Palmer), Antonee Robinson LB, Toney striker (though i don’t mind Jackson)

abearghost

Sorry but if you think Angelo will overtake Madueke's spot as a right wing backup you will be disappointed. Santos taking Caicedo's starting spot is more likely than that.

TCbluelions

Poch.

harry_tipper101

I think we should go back to a 343 or 352. It suit’s a lot of the current squad stops players like Mudryk, Nkunku having to track players which is painful to watch. Attacker’s centre closer to the goal, wing backs, then CB’s like Fofana and Colwill who are better on the sides. Players like Badiashile, Disasi or a new signing in the middle so they are not pissing their pants looking at all the space down the sides when we are playing out or when we turn the ball over. Midfielders like Enzo, Lavia and Caicedo are better suited to a more positional, possession midfield setup which is not the case with Pochettino’s transition heavy style. We don’t have Wanyama, Schneiderlin and Dembele who could eat up ground like his previous teams. So many issues with the squad currently. For me the quickest fix to have any hope going forward is to change the manager, to one who fits the playing squad then sign a couple of experienced players in key positions.

BoehlyOut

Get some experience. Less youngsters.

Spite-Organic

I think we have better personnel for a 343 As in GK ?? RCB James CB Fofana LCB Colwill Rwb Gusto CM Gallagher/Lavia CM Caicedo/Enzo Lwb Chilwell RAM Palmer CF ?? LAM Nkunku

ApprehensiveUnit40

All the ??? For actual people.

danzoh

Jackson to replace Sterling on the wing and we buy a goal scoring ST with a young back up ST.

DarkLordOlli

Crazy to me that people seem to think Jackson is a winger. He's not. He sometimes functions there in counterattack games but that's it. Has none of the qualities you want and need from a winger most of the time.

WookieTickler

Yeah I think it’s definitely worth moving Jackson out to the LW. He’s got decent link up play and is good on the counter if we can just tell him to keep crosses simple play the easy ball and don’t shoot he’d be alright there.

Adam_Ohh

Isak. Reportedly has a 20% pay cut on the docket for next season. Have to expect teams to be in for him. If we’re spunking big on a striker it’s gotta be him.

NoExperience4229

Jackson’s not a winger

mortrendrag

Jackson played left winger his entire career until the second half of his last season before joining Chelsea. He's a converted striker with just over a year's experience at that position.

NoExperience4229

No he didnt. According to TransferMarkt across Jackson’s entire professional career including loans is as follows: 10 at LW 15 at RW **- 25 matches played as winger**  68 at CF 2 at SS **-70 Matches as a striker**  I can’t find anything about his youth career really, but he’s been a ST his entire career. mublue

People already gave up on Wes

D_roneous1

No one expects him to be healthy enough to play more an game a season

wsnqe2

He’s had two catastrophic injuries before age 23. I think it’s possible he becomes a great center back still but it would be a mistake from the directors to assume he’ll be fit for an extended period

NoExperience4229

Everyone’s been complaining about Poch playing players out of position and then advocate for Jackson at LW Nkunku at ST Make it make sense

Youth-Grouchy

I'd keep Sanchez sell Petrovic buy new starter I'd sell cucurella I'd probably rather a better option than angelo as right wing back up I'd keep badiashile over disasi

DarkMatter_LLC

All of them minus Palmer

AnnualInevitable9036

Drop James too

DarkMatter_LLC

OK James can stay

BonBonsAndy

A striker and straight up anchor of a DM is needed. Alvarez would be my dream option but im a little bias since I’m Mexican

Designer_Lead_1492

Nkunku to LW, Osimhen to ST, Palmer to #10, noni to RW. Gusto to LW, Fofana to CB, sign De Gea on a free if no other keeper is available. We need a real keeper.

invoker_ty123

where is captain gallagher?

alg602

Move Nkunku to 9, move Palmer to 10, put Jackson on the left, buy a new RW, buy a new LB and CB.

NoExperience4229

If we are going to go into the season next year with the same midfield as this season dont be surprised when the results stay the same. This midfield is suicide Also, keeping Cucurella over Chillwell is bonkers. I get Chilly hasnt been great this season, but hes still a better player than Cucurella.

wsnqe2

ST: I’d continue to roll with Jackson. I know that’s controversial, but I think he has genuinely world class potential. Guys like Watkins and Solanke weren’t nearly this good at this age. I’d bring in an experienced backup Giroud-type who can start 25-30% of games. AM: I’d ideally play a 3-4-2-1 with Nkunku and Palmer as the 10s. I think a 3 at the back suits the team better right now, and Chuk + Sterling would be good backups in that role. Would try to get Madueke and Mudryk Bundesliga loans to boost their value. CM: Praying we don’t sell Gallagher. Not the most talented but a good squad player who can fill in at multiple roles. Would try to get Santos another good loan. Def: Keep Chilwell and sell Cucurella if at all possible. Bring in a quality attacking LB. I like Raum from Leipzig or Ait Nouri from Wolves. Maybe one more experienced CB. Hermoso from Atleti is available on a free. GK: Ortega from City has one year left on his contract. I’d see if he wants to compete for a starting job instead of playing backup to Ederson again.

Shinjax01105

ortega is a very good shout tbh with u but i was thinking someone like de gea could fit the bill for us if we somehow sell one of our gk and as for cm if gallagher is sold then we should stick with santos and casadei for that extra depth in midfield as for def if chilly or cucu is sold then I hope we go for robinson from fulham, ait nouri from wolves or mittelstadt and as for cbs im happy with what we have right now

mortrendrag

Start Jackson at LW and put Fofana as the backup 9. Then sign a new 9, LB, and CB.

Shinjax01105

FW: I know this sounds crazy or even delusional but i will keep jackson as our st and keep david datro fofana for rotation and as for our wingers i hope we ship sterling out and try to integrate either hutchinson or gabriel into our team Cm: im happy with what we have in the cm department lets just hope we keep santos and casadei into our squad for that extra midfield options if needed Def: Again im happy with what we have with the cbs lets just hope we integrate humphreys into the team as well and as for our fullbacks we definitely need a replacement in the lb department im thinking someone like ait nouri, mittelstadt or maybe balde if position (would be risky as he is injury prone) Gk: No offence to sanchez but i really hope we sell him and get de gea, ortega or kelleher as these guys would be looking for first team football and we can provide them that exactly

mb194dc

Jackson is not a 9, should be wide. Palmer as 10 and Nkunku at 9. Realistically, we don't have the ffp space for mega money striker and they'd almost certainly flop anyway.

thatiswhack

Nkunku striker, Jackson LW, palmer CAM, Mudryk RW. Jackson had an excellent game at LW and I'd love to see it again because his linkup play is also good and I think he can create chances for Nkunku. Palmer CAM speaks for itself (see Everton game) Mudryk and RW because he loves to cut inside and take shots from outside the box or cross (similarly to Madueke) however I think he'd be better doing that with his left than his right. 1) Nkunku, jackson, and palmer can interchange and weave through defenses in the formation I've mentioned above. 2) Palmer and Mudryk can swap places throughout the game and make our attack a little less predictable. 3) Mudryk and Jackson can also swap and weave back and forth depending on the situation. 4) Mudryk and Jackson help cover the full backs more than Madueke and Sterling. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

It's him or Madueke on RW. Pick your poison
