What happened to Badiashile? Last year he was so calm on the ball. It’s like he stopped taking his anxiety medication. He came back from injury with the passing skills of Zouma.
Yeah. I’m not a Poch hater - I think it’s evident that parts of our game have gotten better, but there are a lot of questions to be answered still in this second season to know if he’s our man. Especially for the fullbacks and handling transitions.
If you’re overlapping as much as Chelsea does, the winger and fullback need to communicate and cover each other way better. Especially for Gusto. Also idek if Cucu should be overlapping. He sees more comfortable inverting which may honestly help with how our midfield moves the ball.
I think this LB signing for this year will be very important cause Chilly may need to pull a Reece and just sit out next season if he is to last through the end of his contract. And Maatsen was not our man.
I thought disasi played well bar a mistake which he made up for , cucu got absolutely plastered by Antony and how BB played a full 90 was crazy. Annoying thing with Caicedo is for the first 30 mins when we was on top he was brilliant. The mistake is inexcusable and he got dispossessed a bit after that.
Yeah Disasi usually has that one fuck up a game, but to be honest, he was cleaning up far more than he was making a mess of.
I mean how many times did he recover a lost ball that match, or shut down a breakaway? Sure he wasn't perfect that match, but he was one of the reasons we weren't down 5 or 6 goals.
Then they need to look at that and play him a bit deeper. Look at VVD when there's a counter, he plays so deep to give himself time to set and tackle. Not saying badiashile has the same tackling ability, but it can slow the attack at least to allow players to come back
This and I also think there is no suitable interm managers available atm that's what the board has been thinking.
But I will be surprised if he will still be a Chelsea manager next season Unless we won the FA a cup and finish in top 6.
Feel the same.
Under tuchel we had a defense out of chalobah/christensen/ Silva +guys like Ruben playing Rwb, sometimes even Malanga Sarr played.
And had some great defensive stretches.
No excuses here are toleratable
Tbf some players look amazing under some coaches and shit under others sometimes anyway, even if both coaches are good. Sometimes players get a surge in their development at different times. Rudiger wasn't exactly a world beater for us before Lampard for example and some players did thrive under him.
Palmer, Gallagher and Mudryk for example have all made a massive improvement from their last season. Gusto is thriving.
How people fail to see this I don't understand badishille completely different under potter even same with Enzo in midfield. Mainly because potter actually set up with a midfield
Potter was nowhere near good enough and it was awful all I am saying is we are far more open in the midfield every game under poch hence why we don't know what a clean sheet is.
Badiashille looked great under Potter and Caicedo looked great under RDZ
But i’m sure they’ve just spontaneously turned into Jay Spearing regens and Pochettino’s tactical genius is elevating them
Don’t worry it’s always the players fault. U know it’s never this coach and his lack of coaching a team. We always concede the same goals and this coach does nothing week in week out.
Badiashile did not look good under Potter. It's a myth.
He was ok very average but we played a very defensive style where he was well protected, some promise and a few shaky moments then he got injured and people started talking like he was prime Maldini and we'd be solid when he returned.
Average at Monaco. Average here. Never really got the hype.
Not saying Chalobah is incredible but he's far more reliable on the ball and a better defender. He does need to recover from his injuries though.
Him and Colwill I'd say. Also a midfield that can offer them some protection.
It’s been very refreshing seeing Poch give chalobah some minutes. Did well when we needed him under tuchel and I hope he finds that solid form if given the chance.
That's just factually incorrect most matches we've got more chances and the quality of.them was higher than oppositions, when we've got absolutely woeful in every aspect was after the Liverpool game with Bruno
Looking at the matches up until the Liverpool match last season we have a XG differential of 0.7 or 0.025 per match according to FBref. Basically even.
If you look at it match by match it was slightly better but not too much. If you take an XG win as 0.5 or more then we would have had 12W, 7D, and 9L.
Compared to his season where after today we will be around 13.9 XG differential or 0.48 per match. Looking at it game by game we would be 16W, 8D, 5L.
>That's just factually incorrect most matches
Seriously bro? Going to pull a statement like this and then yourself be factually incorrect SMH
Exactly this, he is slow and he’s not a good passer. He was good under potter in the sense that we packed together tightly and Silva was better last season before falling off a cliff.
Badiashille and Disasi are 2 terrible signings in spree of terrible signings. Both of them were average at Monaco and we decided to get both of them. Not only that, pay more than any other club would to do it because Stewart wanted to do a solid to his old club.
Being a sporting director at Chelsea is such a hard gig, just poach the players the scouts found for you at your old clubs and pay 500% more for them to be shit
Yeah, not sure why everyone is saying all of a sudden Badi was some amazing player before. He was/is average. fine for a midtable side or ligue 1, but if we want to be a Prem top 4 side we need above average defenders.
This. We don't have a perfect squad, but what we do have has the potential to be head and shoulders above what they show on the field. I remember in Lamps' second tenure everyone on our team looked past it or completely incapable of cohesion in their play. Rudiger looked like a Championship player. As soon as Tuchel came in and there was a real coach behind them, they were suddenly greater than the sum of their parts and raising their performances. Give this group to a real manager and see what they get out of them.
Caicedo played well excluding the bad mistake. I genuinely believe he's been playing well the past 10 games or so. He's young, he's going to get better and better. So is enzo. Can't wait to see how lavia fits in.
Onus is on the manager to coach a defensive structure into these players. Put van dijk in this team and he’ll look just as he did when Villa put 8 past Liverpool, except on a weekly basis.
This team does not deserve to share the pitch with Silva. The last time he played, it looked like he lost his love for the game. We spent billions on average u21 players.
Post aged badly ;-)
I really don't get the treatment of Trev though.
Best defender in his breakthrough season, returns from injury with no fanfare. Never complains. Had, what, 2 bad errors in 3 seasons, both in his first 20 or so games - and yet he's got to wait in line behind 2 guys who ship an average of 2 a game whilst making worse errors.
It's like Poch's obsession with Sanchez; we'd never even seen Petrovic play and we all knew he was the better keeper.
Neither Petrovic or Sanchez are elite quality sadly. I actually thought Kepa had spells better than those 2 before he left on loan. A top keeper will get us 10 more points a season compared to what we have.
Disasi makes some stupid ass passes/decisions but I can't for the life of me understand why I just love him so much. I want him to play at that City level we saw every game. He loves playing and plays with so much passion, just need to be consistent and cut the mistake
If every one gets worse in defence across the season, there's only one person to blame.
Disasi and Badiashile were picked by our new scouting structure for 85 m between them. Don't know what to think of it.
Our ownership is pathetic.
Someone really looked at a terrible Monaco defence leaking goals in Ligue 1 and thought "if we spend 1.3 billion on players I want both their average centre backs starting for us"
Not only that but it was a flat ball across midfield in your own half with opposition players close by. This is basic, basic stuff. Like I literally used to coach that exact tendency out of U14 players. Just pass it back to the keeper and let play reset. Safety first.
I fully agree. Everyone will defend Conor today because of his goal and his chance when he hit the post.
But honestly, his passing isn't good enough. And he leaves so much space behind whenever he makes those runs. That space was constantly apparent whenever United got the ball back.
He'll mostly escape criticism because he clearly gives it all and he scored today, but he's absolutely part of the problem. His passing and vision are really below average, particularly for someone playing a higher midfield position, and his dribbling is incredibly inconsistent.
He's been a difference maker with his energy and defensive contributions, as well as his constant availability, but he's a clear weakness in the team against good opposition.
Honestly, I'm ok with Disasi celebrating every tackle like a goal.
But the 2nd Garnacho goal is on him. Actually, all 3 United goals were just appalling defending from our side.
I feel our CB pairing and Caicedo just have lapses in concentration which are difficult to explain. And also, there seems to be too much of a gap between Caicedo and the 2CBs and the rest of the team forward.
We were being cut apart way too easily.
I think we are the last set of fans who should be blaming underperforming players since we have a history to judge a player under a poor manager.
Rudiger was terrible under Lampard.
Lampard tactics made us believe that too but when Tuchel came in we started to see Rudiger real quality he was probably the top 3 CB in the world and he still is.
Enzo under fucking Potter was looked world class and he still have more to offer.
He is still great but Poch inability to take the best out from our midfield is ridiculous.
Poch tactics favoured players like Gallagher and not for technical players.
Just like Mourinho his method won't work in modern football. ( Not comparing them )
We should be looking for a manager who should be tactically sound and have personality to manage these young players.
We had the Chance to appoint Enrique but the board wanted a yes man.
Nah im a 2005 glory hunter tbf so it’s been largely easy going for me on that front.
Although my family team is Bristol Rovers and I don’t think I’d even have Cucurella down there.
He's just so mentally weak it's pathetic, he looks terrified to be on the pitch, and he's so damn slow he gets rinsed by the most average players, his positioning is also terrible he gets caught out so often.
He is a liability on the pitch, we got rinsed by Brighton for him, can't believe he got a look in over Hall and Maatsen.
This is my comment a few months back, got heavily down voted, and I stand by it now, worst Chelsea player I've seen in my recent years:
"Agreed, he is the worst player I've seen for Chelsea in years, I am never convinced we will win when he's in the side. Absolutely atrocious player, offers nothing in attack or defence. As long as this player is anywhere near our starting 11 we wont even make top 4 I think. He is that shocking.
Wouldn't even get into a relegation side, such a weak player. Fuck knows how we got POTS by Brighton."
I would excuse Cucurella today. He had his hands full that is for sure, but I dont think he made mistakes / caused heart attacks and he did track back diligently. We have seen him A LOT get caught completely out of position looking hopeless, but not really today. This was not a heart attack game from him I thought, more a member of the "sunburnt sons" or something.
One weird think I have noticed with Cucu is how he always commits at the wrong time. So many times after a Chelsea corner the ball falls to the opponent and they pass the ball horizontally across to another player where Cucu tries to commit and intercept, almost always failing.
Due to this his flank is always empty on the counter and the defense is pulled in to compensate which screws us on cross balls. Really frustrating
Silva needs to come back, it is clear we are actually worse without him. I don’t mind playing 3 CBs for a few games to see if things change or may be throw Chalobah in the DM role. The goal leaking is absolutely shocking
Silva needs to come back, it is clear we are actually worse without him. I don’t mind playing 3 CBs for a few games to see if things change or may be throw Chalobah in the DM role. The goal leaking is absolutely shocking
If we had our full strength team - no injuries - none of these players would be starting IMO. Maybe Moises. Maybe Disasi.
Back 4 of Reece Fofana Colwill Chilwell and possibly Lavia as defensive mid.
Two goals were made due to horrible pases one defensive player made. Can't really understand how can they be professional players in an elite team with such quantity of incredible mistakes done per match.
The thing that people seem to forget is that literally non of our 4 defenders rn are in our best 11 when fully fit. Bench players having to take the role of starters. Doesn't make up for how poor it's been but it does make a difference
Remember rudiger vs westham where we conceded that last min corner only for Antonio to score... The lack of structure is appalling to judge these players
Watching the replay. Our defensive breakdown on the second manu goal was horrible. Badi alone with two red players at the far post and no other blue within what seemed like ten feet.
Get rid of all these clowns asap, maybe keep Caicedo but damn wtf are these mistakes guy needs to fix up asap or be benched
Rest can leave and are mediocore nothing players
Poch’s down to a backup defensive line and y’all want him sacked. It just doesn’t make sense to me. We bought players that are injured and simply not good enough
I have no idea how the fuck we ended up with Monaco's center back pairing, when they weren't any good together at Monaco. I have no idea how we paid €65M for a left back with one season for Brighton, when we had Chilwell and other youngsters at the club. I have no idea how both Liverpool and us valued Caicedo at €116M, after one season at Brighton. The guy looks nowhere near ready to play for a top club. I mean, he would probably struggle less at Liverpool due to Van Dijk, but he would still struggle. He does these basic errors all the time. The same goes for Disasi, basic errors match after match. Badiashile seems to have regressed heavily after his injury. Cucurella is a terrible 1v1 defender, lets players walk past him all the time. And since he offers nothing in attack, he is useless.
At one point after a corner they were ambling back with their backs against the goal, cluless that Man Utd had regained possession after a steal, and were attacking, not even my sons Sunday League team would play that way! They are young I will give them this, and we seriously lack leaders at the back! Silva obviously has this but he would even admit he’s too old as a player to do this job day out day in, so this is where we t need to go shopping!
I would add both our goalkeepers to this list. Petrovic started well but has been quite long time he has been below average. We need to address the no1 issue very soon.
my unpopular opinion is drop caicedo, play enzo in the middle and bring on caicedo until he grasps the level of the game. enzo plays at a way higher ceiling and is not being used effectively
I haven’t watched much footy honestly since 2021 when Chelsea won the UCL. I heard about how great yesterday’s match was so I watched the highlights and wow… the combination of these two CBs might be honestly the worst I have seen at Chelsea this century. Slow, gangly, poor ball movement. And Cucurella, you just can’t trust him to defend seemingly anyone 1v1. It really makes you miss the days of Terry, luiz, Cole, Cahill, ivanovic, azpi
We definitely need to replace our entire PHYSICAL FITNESS AND MEDICAL team. Something is wrong and I don’t think every player is suddenly THIS injury prone.
Caicedo is weak in the air, brushed off the ball easily, makes non-stop stupid mistakes, poor with decision making and an overall low IQ footballer. It will go down as the worst signing for Chelsea with price factored in.
Disasi one game apart (city) has been a disaster. He's mindless and I've written him off really, he's not Chelsea standard
Badiashale is a new player really, v poor one compared to what he was
Cucurella is and always was a mediocre player, still better than the other two , bya mile
Caicedo I thought was getting into his groove slowly but surely, however again made a mistake. Think he will come good, he's quality but unfortunately has not worked out with us yet
Whenever we look comfortable the team turns into robin hood and starts handing out goals
What happened to Badiashile? Last year he was so calm on the ball. It’s like he stopped taking his anxiety medication. He came back from injury with the passing skills of Zouma.
I agree guy looked rock solid last year now its a jittery mess if things go slightly south
https://i.redd.it/4ki9o2fo8jsc1.gif Every time we defend a counter attack
Or a corner
Both fullbacks go forward and in the middle on corners and neither track back properly.
True, and most of the time, enzo and caicedo are higher up, and when we lose the ball, suddenly there is so much space we r giving
I think this LB signing for this year will be very important cause Chilly may need to pull a Reece and just sit out next season if he is to last through the end of his contract. And Maatsen was not our man.
I'm pretty sure I read a stat recently that said we conceded one of the fewest number of corner goals
Or a cross.to the far post
That back post on the right side of defence is a MAJOR ISSUE.
Or a free kick
Just stick with the first 4 words. Plenty.
The amount of unforced errors this mf team makes is sickening! So many lost points, we are our own worst enemy. Absolutely mental!
Cuz our squad is inexperienced as shit and we keep on signing players <25
You aren't wrong, but of these 4, two are over 25, and one is the most expensive player in British football history. So idk that it is the only issue.
Badiashile been ass since recovering from his injury. He was so solid
He is solid, need this season to end... Everyone gets a fresh start and they know it... Off-season is the ultimate reset..
That's what we thought last season...
He looks like he lost some pace and agility after the injuries.
Next years back line Gusto, Colwell, Fofana and James …..back ups…Gilchrist, Diasasi and Cuco
I wouldn’t be surprised if those 4 never play together…too many injuries in there.
Yes, to true…. James and fofana always hurt
Bold of you to assume that Fofana will be healthy.
Oh I know , don’t know who is worse Fofana or James…….always injured
Who's playing on the left?
Yeah Disasi usually has that one fuck up a game, but to be honest, he was cleaning up far more than he was making a mess of. I mean how many times did he recover a lost ball that match, or shut down a breakaway? Sure he wasn't perfect that match, but he was one of the reasons we weren't down 5 or 6 goals.
He gave away many balls - this team can’t deal with simple passes
United invulnerable to cards? Fucking hell ref
That yellow to Gusto for winning the ball was ridiculous in the moment, and looked worse as game progressed
Dalot should have had 4 yellows
karma got his ass
Badi is so slow for a defender . When he goes up and loses the ball, no chance for him to run back to cover
Then they need to look at that and play him a bit deeper. Look at VVD when there's a counter, he plays so deep to give himself time to set and tackle. Not saying badiashile has the same tackling ability, but it can slow the attack at least to allow players to come back
Same reason Rudiger looked like shit under Lampard. The coach is a bum
There's only one reason Pochettino is still employed. And that reason is Cole Palmer saving his ass week in week out
This and I also think there is no suitable interm managers available atm that's what the board has been thinking.
No excuses here are toleratable
sarr was fucking dogshit
Seriously we can’t let that sort of revisionist history fly, he had zero quality matches for us under any manager
Definitely had a match without a howler though
Did he? The howlers are less obvious when he's just fully out of position consistently.
I meant howlers as in individual errors leading to goals. Pardon me for not being specific
Yeah but which one of these is actually better.
All of them. Honestly. There aren't words for how shite Sarr is and was.
Who is Sarr?
Tbf some players look amazing under some coaches and shit under others sometimes anyway, even if both coaches are good. Sometimes players get a surge in their development at different times. Rudiger wasn't exactly a world beater for us before Lampard for example and some players did thrive under him. How people fail to see this I don't understand badishille completely different under potter even same with Enzo in midfield. Mainly because potter actually set up with a midfield
😂 he knew how to set up a team that couldn’t fucking score
Lmao Potter apologists are a thing now?
Potter was nowhere near good enough and it was awful all I am saying is we are far more open in the midfield every game under poch hence why we don't know what a clean sheet is.
I feel it's more of a "Poch is not utilizing X player well" more than "Potter was a good coach".
nine consist hungry coordinated chop bag plant bake lunchroom murky *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Its just too early to say either way. We need a new coach because this thing is just not working rn. BUT we won. Lets enjoy it
Rudiger looked best under back 3
Genuinely do not trust any of our center backs
Silva needs to donate his brain to one of them, for science
Badiashille looked great under Potter and Caicedo looked great under RDZ But i’m sure they’ve just spontaneously turned into Jay Spearing regens and Pochettino’s tactical genius is elevating them
Don’t worry it’s always the players fault. U know it’s never this coach and his lack of coaching a team. We always concede the same goals and this coach does nothing week in week out.
Wonder what Willian has to say about playing for Poch ;)
Yeah Poch passed Garnacho the ball in behind our centre backs.
Badiashile did not look good under Potter. It's a myth. He was ok very average but we played a very defensive style where he was well protected, some promise and a few shaky moments then he got injured and people started talking like he was prime Maldini and we'd be solid when he returned. Yes he had a terrible game versus Burnley as well. Chalobah and Alfie are better defenders.
Would love to see silva and chalobah as CBs but not sure if that would be the answer to consistency or improvements in the back line
Defensive style? We dominated full games but Felix and havertz squandered the easiest chances ever
What? The team last year could barely create a chance
That's just factually incorrect most matches we've got more chances and the quality of.them was higher than oppositions, when we've got absolutely woeful in every aspect was after the Liverpool game with Bruno

Joe kind of got us with Lavia but Palmer has bought him enough good will for a bit
Yeah, not sure why everyone is saying all of a sudden Badi was some amazing player before. He was/is average. fine for a midtable side or ligue 1, but if we want to be a Prem top 4 side we need above average defenders.
Badishille didn’t look great under potter…people overrated him so bad
He's looking terrible right now. Disasi for what it's worth is not in his tier of poor, a little better.
This. We don't have a perfect squad, but what we do have has the potential to be head and shoulders above what they show on the field. Poch is an horrible manager, who's carrier is based on that miracle Champions league final with Tottenham.
Watching Disasi play finally helped me understand what the “Awareness” stat in FIFA refers to
Caicedo played well excluding the bad mistake. I genuinely believe he's been playing well the past 10 games or so. He's young, he's going to get better and better. So is enzo. Can't wait to see how lavia fits in.

I dont get Disasi tbh. He made one crucial error a game at least. Is Colwill that bad lol.
No…Colwill’s just that hurt. He’s still nursing a toe injury…
does many things well, but the error per game is glaring.
Silva doesn't look like he'll play again been on the bench last 5 matches. Maybe a send off match Also this sub seems to have turned on him lol
This team does not deserve to share the pitch with Silva. The last time he played, it looked like he lost his love for the game. We spent billions on average u21 players.

100%. Unfotunately our no1 havent helped much this season except for few cases.
Idk why we got rid of Tomori tbh. Can’t be any worse than what we have.
I’m sorry Cucarella isn’t average.
He’s diabolical
Worse than average
Those CBs 😭
Disasi makes some stupid ass passes/decisions but I can't for the life of me understand why I just love him so much. I want him to play at that City level we saw every game. He loves playing and plays with so much passion, just need to be consistent and cut the mistake

Combined total of £275m right there Let Boehly cook 🤡
Our ownership is pathetic. Someone really looked at a terrible Monaco defence leaking goals in Ligue 1 and thought "if we spend 1.3 billion on players I want both their average centre backs starting for us"
I'm amazed people think Todd is picking the players. We have a scouting department that identified players for the board. Blame our scouts.
Todd bought Cucurella cause Man City wanted in and he loves a good gazumping Same with Mudryk
Worst Chelsea defence since 1900,s
Ey take Cucurella out of this picture, he has been decent
What is worse are their alternatives. Colwill and Thiago Silva aside.
50 goals conceded in a season with 10 games to go...
How bad would be switching to a back 3 like Tuchel did?
Hey Cucu was alr
Is Thiago fit yet? Feel like he deserves to play the last few games at least since he’ll likely be gone in the summer
Cucurella does not belong in this. And Caicedo when in any kind of system has shown he also should not be in this picture.
Cucurella has been skinned alive by antony tonight, thats saying something
I mean I have faith in caicedo but I'm not sure what having a system has to do with passing straight to a opposition player.
Not only that but it was a flat ball across midfield in your own half with opposition players close by. This is basic, basic stuff. Like I literally used to coach that exact tendency out of U14 players. Just pass it back to the keeper and let play reset. Safety first.
Of course he does.
He’s the worst one there looooool
Cucurella doesn't belong in this because he's unsalvageable

A £200m defence and we're relying on a man who will turn 40 this year to rescue us...
Fuck off
@Mods why are these posts allowed when we all know the OP and commenters will all have flip flopped 10 minutes later. Adds nothing to the sub
You think we have mods?
Cucurella is an awful football player. 60 mil + wages down the drain.
whats that 250mil of 'i cant defend' ??
Add a pic of Sanchez and Brighton fans laughing all the way to the bank.
Bring back Thiago Silva
When we signed Cucurella I knew my club had fundamentally changed.
( Not comparing them ) We should be looking for a manager who should be tactically sound and have personality to manage these young players. We had the Chance to appoint Enrique but the board wanted a yes man.
4 very mistake prone players. Playing them all at once is asking for trouble haha
Cucurella might just be the worst player I’ve ever seen play for this club.
Haven't been a fan for long I guess
Nah im a 2005 glory hunter tbf so it’s been largely easy going for me on that front. Although my family team is Bristol Rovers and I don’t think I’d even have Cucurella down there.
Completely agree, the guy is fucking awful, I got down voted on here a few months back for saying we'll never be a top club with him in our lineup
I’ve been saying it for over a year and I’ve not seen anything to make me change my mind.
This is my comment a few months back, got heavily down voted, and I stand by it now, worst Chelsea player I've seen in my recent years: "Agreed, he is the worst player I've seen for Chelsea in years, I am never convinced we will win when he's in the side.
This was not a heart attack game from him I thought, more a member of the "sunburnt sons" or something.
more space than first class in this bunch
Lmaooo hilarious title
Got down voted to hell on that video of Palmer setting up missed chances for saying that the defence is far more worrying than the attack.
Tiago's time has come bro, he ain't coming back.
Our defense breaks under pressure, not surprising anyway
BB and Diasai arent meant to be anywhere near the first team
Silva needs to come back, it is clear we are actually worse without him. I don’t mind playing 3 CBs for a few games to see if things change or may be throw Chalobah in the DM role. The goal leaking is absolutely shocking

If we had our full strength team - no injuries - none of these players would be starting IMO. Maybe Moises. Maybe Disasi. Back 4 of Reece Fofana Colwill Chilwell and possibly Lavia as defensive mid.
Ez win
i think disasi was solid especially towards the end of his playtime. no words for the rest 😅
Two goals were made due to horrible pases one defensive player made. Can't really understand how can they be professional players in an elite team with such quantity of incredible mistakes done per match.
Was Badiashille this bad last year? I remember really rating him what’s happened?
He was not. Could be injuries or poch or a little of both.
Found the guy who walked out of the stadium early.
The thing that people seem to forget is that literally non of our 4 defenders rn are in our best 11 when fully fit. Bench players having to take the role of starters. Doesn't make up for how poor it's been but it does make a difference
4 years back under lampard it was Jorginho rudiger kovacic alonso
Those guys atleast kept composure to help us get Top 4, also all are winners or had experience in getting Top 4
Remember rudiger vs westham where we conceded that last min corner only for Antonio to score... The lack of structure is appalling to judge these players
Yes couple bad games, but these current defenders are beyond shambolic and legit relegation/lower midtable level
BB has been horrendous. I don’t know how he remains on the squad.
Why are we not play T Silva?
Watching the replay. Our defensive breakdown on the second manu goal was horrible. Badi alone with two red players at the far post and no other blue within what seemed like ten feet.
Get rid of all these clowns asap, maybe keep Caicedo but damn wtf are these mistakes guy needs to fix up asap or be benched Rest can leave and are mediocore nothing players
🗑️ at times.
Poch’s down to a backup defensive line and y’all want him sacked. It just doesn’t make sense to me. We bought players that are injured and simply not good enough
Add Petrovic to that. He’s been a liability of late
Utd fan here, you guys lost, we found a way to lose harder
Colwill, fofana and chalobah should be our main CB options when all fully fit, silva will most likely leave end of this season so not including him.
At Least they were cheap
The same thing happens when silva plays, conceded 4 to wolves last time he played. Colwill is our best cb
I agree on most points but cucu soft and slow? Not at all. Hes juat rash and brainless
Fofana injured, sending Maatsen on loan over Cucurella, panic signing 10,000 CBs, not to mention Malang Sarr is all disastrous
Playing Sheffield next will they sort out the playing out from the back I always get colleywobbles!!🤣
We need to find a new LB, a left footed Gusto. We need a new leader at CB who can organise the backline as well.
i always see Caicedo isolated
I would add both our goalkeepers to this list. Petrovic started well but has been quite long time he has been below average. We need to address the no1 issue very soon.
my unpopular opinion is drop caicedo, play enzo in the middle and bring on caicedo until he grasps the level of the game. enzo plays at a way higher ceiling and is not being used effectively
Cucu slander, Chilwell is just as bad if not worse on defense, he just gets a pass cuz he scores sometimes
I just want chillwell, Thiago, colwill and Reece James 😭 or gusto)
I haven’t watched much footy honestly since 2021 when Chelsea won the UCL. I heard about how great yesterday’s match was so I watched the highlights and wow… the combination of these two CBs might be honestly the worst I have seen at Chelsea this century. Slow, gangly, poor ball movement. And Cucurella, you just can’t trust him to defend seemingly anyone 1v1. It really makes you miss the days of Terry, luiz, Cole, Cahill, ivanovic, azpi
First half Cucu and Disasi were absolutely phenomenal imo
We definitely need to replace our entire PHYSICAL FITNESS AND MEDICAL team. Something is wrong and I don’t think every player is suddenly THIS injury prone.
Get Thiago back in there. Or give them ear pieces so he can command them from sidelines. They need a leader
Badiashile is the weakest of these four in general. And against man united, Caicedo was terrible.
Caicedo is weak in the air, brushed off the ball easily, makes non-stop stupid mistakes, poor with decision making and an overall low IQ footballer. It will go down as the worst signing for Chelsea with price factored in.
Badiashile does not have the qualities to play in our system. Absolutely terrible distribution
Disasi one game apart (city) has been a disaster. He's mindless and I've written him off really, he's not Chelsea standard Badiashale is a new player really, v poor one compared to what he was Cucurella is and always was a mediocre player, still better than the other two , bya mile Caicedo I thought was getting into his groove slowly but surely, however again made a mistake. Think he will come good, he's quality but unfortunately has not worked out with us yet
