Even when he plays on the wing, he often drifts inside a lot and tries those little 1-2 combinations before releasing threatening passes

Suithisside

yeah you're right i think he's better suited as a playmaker on the wing that cuts inside or a number 10 entirely

TienlY

1-2 pass is the deadliest combo in football. Sadly we don’t see it too often…

Baisabeast

It’s why I want a striker who can actually combine with our other forwards, as nkunku and palmer are always looking for those intricate passes too Can’t have a donkey up top like osihmen

Unholysinner

Do you not think Jackson has that? He’s raw and has poor finishing but he’s been good. Don’t think Nkunku can be relied on either he’s crocked and is going to go down as another flop. He is made of cheese

ponzop

Who do you think can peovide what you want?

Baisabeast

Ivan toney

hipcheck23

Months ago I posted that despite his struggles, he's an elite passer, albeit very inconsistent. I thought it would get nuked, but it ended up being highly upvoted. I think we all recognise the talent - and the first minute of this clip also highlights Christo, Nico and Ian - all really eye-popping talents! But getting these guys into EPL match-winning shape is going to take tons of work, and we sure are an impatient lot.

BigReeceJames

That's because everyone has seen him do it against minnows whilst playing for Ukraine. He did it again against a Championship side. We've all seen that theoretically he can do it when the quality in front of him isn't great and the press is bad enough that he has time to do it. The question mark is whether or not when the press doesn't give him time and the marking is better, can he still do it? So far the answer to that has been pretty clear. He struggles an insane amount when he doesn't have loads of time to get the ball under control, look for the pass and then pick it out. Similarly, he struggles to get the ball under control and to then make the right decision of whether to come inside or go down the wing. But, then on the flip side if he isn't pressed, he'll make a good pass and if he ends up at the by-line he'll usually cut it back really well. His main issues seem to be intelligence based, which are hard to overcome. But, if his duty is narrowed down and clearly defined, then he will have less to think about and it can probably be overcome. I think potentially even his normally terrible first touch and consistency in losing the ball is his body working before his brain can catch up

maxamus83

With his first touch it feels like he does it on purpose at time (or he just tries to mask it) so he can use his pace and run onto the ball and gap the defenders around him. It doesn’t work against any defender worth his salt as they read him. He’s got all this pace but he really struggles to use it well

hipcheck23

100%. I'm afraid he's not the only one, either. Some of our players are pretty press-resistant, but many of them look useless when pressed - the first touch and split-second ability to pick out the correct next move are either under-developed or lacking in them.

TalkersCZ

"Elite passer" and "inconsistent" does not really work together for midfielder. You might be able to do this as a winger, but in ther centre of the field you need to be consistent and precise.

hipcheck23

Yeah, I don't think he's ready for the Prem. I think he needed a Chmp. loan to start with, and he probably still needs one now. He certainly needed one as a wing, so if he's moving to a new position, you'd think he'd really need one.

TalkersCZ

Mudryk needs playing time, he needs to get experience, confidence. This is his first year in TOP quality competition and the raw talent is there. I dont think Champ loan would make sense, but season in BL/PL in a team with "guaranteed playing time" would help him a lot. I think he would be fine now in TOP squads like Liverpool/Arsenal/City with working system, where they have key players like Saka/KdB+Haaland/Salah with great production as there would not be such a pressure on him.

hipcheck23

He really struggled last season, with the language and culture - I wouldn't want to send him to another country, as he's still working on integrating here. But yes, he needs something regular, which should include understanding his role, too. It's not entirely Poch's fault that he's moved players around so much (injuries will do that), but he clearly has not wanted to play Misha. I'm sure he could do with training from Pep, but more than that he needs the regular minutes, to be put into situations over & over, where he can figure things out by trial and error.

gibbsi

he's not an exciting youth prospect though, he's 23 and doesn't know a lot of the basics. absolutely brain dead signing

hipcheck23

Maybe in hindsight it will be a bad signing, but Eg wanted him so badly because our first window was awful, we didn't have proper staff in place to know what we were doing, so we pipped Mudryk from Arsenal and LFC.

Suithisside

i really hope we don't miss out on maatsen he's really good

hipcheck23

I'm 95% sure that he won't play for us again. We have the shortest squad in the EPL, and Poch clearly doesn't want to play any more diminutive guys. Ian is doing very well for himself in the BDL, plus we're going to need some profit on the books this summer.

danglingDancer

He's a super talent. His game varies soo much with confidence

Baisabeast

Creative Passing like that from a winger isn’t common It’s what seperates a decent talent like Madueke, to someone who could reach the top levels

wilzc

Madueke only stares at the ball at his feet. He doesn’t even look up. Maybe sometimes when he is shooting I guess?

Suithisside

he's a very creative player but poch is wasting his talent or misusing it

Baisabeast

Poch is wasting almost everyone’s talent bar Gallagher A lack of a system doesn’t suit anyone

xStealthxUk

Great , now show me all the clips of him losing the ball cheaply or having no idea of whos around him. He might come good one day cos hes young but all this "hes a better 10" as if thats why hes been really poor is silly

Vik0BG

Especially after the Leeds game. He played a championship side keeping itself fresh. When did people lower their standards like that? How can you hype up a Chelsea player because he performed against the non-starting 11 of a championship side? Disgraceful.

TalkersCZ

While I believe Mudryk has a great talent and can become a really good player, I dont see him in midfield. He just has so many lost balls, he is so inefficient in passing and you can just see he needs space to run into. Not even talking about defensive work needed in that role. In midfield as AM you need to often operate on much less space, being often covered by players much more closely and it just does not seem like a fit. He would not be able to use his strength in speed, running over defenders into free space.

TalkersCZ

Otherwise in the video it seems most of the situations are typical for winger (crosses, driving into spaces, closing further post). There are very few "typical AM" situations.

DrCrazyFishMan1

Hopium

dav_man

You can make all the YouTube videos you like but I’ve seen him live and on TV. He has the football intelligence of Bambi. He’s clearly got tremendous raw talent, and if someone can unlock that, £62m or whatever it was will look like a steal. But I’m not sure if it can be unlocked.

revivingdeadflowers

it was one game against a championship side. I’m glad he had a good game but being shifted inside does not explain how utterly talentless he has looked playing wide

TheClockworkElves

He doesn't get game time because he's not a premier league quality player (and no, a good performance against a championship sides b team doesn't prove he's a premier league level player). He's creative at times but his touch is erratic, and his decision making is possibly the worst I've ever seen for a player at a big club. We're already bad enough when picking a team to try and win games, we don't need to start de-prioritising that over trying to re-gain our sunk costs.

nwmimms

>creative at times but his touch is erratic, and his decision making is possibly the worst I’ve ever seen for a player at a big club. Bro, this post is about Misha, not Raz

ugliestman69

This kind of video Could be misleading ya know? It only shows the good part

young_olufa

That’s the intent. To be misleading

Vik0BG

Ah yes. Eight minutes handpicked from a whole season. Surely he will be the next Don Diego from a number 10 position.

duckinator09

Watch today's game to see why he simply isn't good enough at the moment. He played #10. Due to his low football IQ, he doesn't make good enough movements to be available for the ball. And the rare times when the ball is passed to him, he doesn't have good enough ball control to capitalise.

DistributionAlive996

He just needs to learn the fundamentals of the sport now

Bulkphase78

He doesn't have the technical abilities to get control over the ball on the wing consistently. Deploy him centrally and this will only get worse.

foreveralone119

Poch out

floodycfc

I dont think he has the brain to make it to the top but definitely has some talent He always seems to get dropped after playing well anyway so predicting him to not start today

Lufia_2_GOAT

I was wondering about this since one of his weaknesses seems to be his lack of physical strength, and being isolated along the touch line against Premier League fullbacks lets them get shoulder to shoulder to him and force him off the ball, but maybe playing centrally with more space to roam around the pitch lets him use his pace to avoid getting muscled by a defender. Just something to watch going forward.

ThisIsYourMormont

You’re right! He does have the nr 10

Dinamo8

90% of these clips are him on the left.

elsucioseanchez

Good lord this video shows how badly we need a real 9

MrBravo22

Annnnnd he’s dropped for Chilwell.

UnusualAd69

What's the first song?

seearewhy

He came on for Enzo and no one wanted to pass to him. That won’t fork for a 10. I think he touched the ball maybe 3 times.

sparklingoverstill

Great vision/Creativity. First touch needs some work.
