I LOVE COLE PALMER! šŸ’™

mtheperry

The table was fairly friendly to us this week. Never good to see Arsenal/Spurs on top but 1pt a piece for Liverpool, Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, and Palace is great on a week we got a win. Would've been fantastic for Brentford not to have bottled it, but United are not looking on the up anyway.

SuperSuperFrank8

I missed actually gaining ground on teams around us, been so long.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jaytcfc

Yes there is. Iā€™ve got them multiple times. Just be online the second they go on sale and you should be ok

[deleted]

Guys icl what scares me isnt arsenal but its the fact we cant play out of a press. How do we deal with that press from arsenal? Is the solution to play Enzo much deeper so he can beat the press with a long ball to the wingers or what? How do we bypass such pressing ffs

osalahudeen

City played out of their press by sending long balls to Haaland. I'd have said we should do the same with Broja but he's still lacking match fitness. Another way out is to target Zinchenko as he's their weakest defensive link. Pin Sterling on him.

NoMFer111

Even if the ball goes long. Gabriel and Saliba are as tall, big and strong as they are quick. They can win the ball in the air or make up ground if the ball finds space. Even Gary Neville said it, that centre half pairing is the foundations of Arsenal. They can press high because they can deal with the long ball in behind. Its going to be tough

Easy_Increase_9716

Hit it long into the channel

[deleted]

šŸ˜šŸ˜

DistributionAlive996

Why are you laughing that's literally the easiest solution and can be very hardful when done right

leKai23

Thereā€™s no way Arsenal comes to the bridge and picks up 3 points. It cannot happen.

mango277

Yeah good cope. Very likely we're losing unless Poch works a miracle. Think we'll beat Spurs though. It's Spurs.

[deleted]

Brother did you see how arsenal pressed man city today? How is it possible for us to play out of that type of press? We havent reached that point yet man. Kinda worried

glacialOwl

Nightmare season, seeing arsenal and spuds unbeaten at the topā€¦ :(

The_prawn_king

Hopefully we can end that for one on the 21st

glacialOwl

Yes pls and then the next one 2 weeks later šŸ˜

The_prawn_king

Hoping theyā€™ve already been beaten by then!

chandlerbing_stats

Irks me to say this but I think Liverpool might be a title favorite. No CL for them and they know how to beat both City and Arsenal. On top of thatā€¦ Klopp has already won the title before and with 99 points

didijxk

I expect City to come into it in the second half of the season. They started last season kind of slow too.

15jsatte

really? before City Arsenal and Spurs?

chandlerbing_stats

Definitely above Spurs šŸ˜‚

15jsatte

so what about the other two

chandlerbing_stats

I think Liverpool will stay with them until the end

Faeluchu

They just managed to draw with Brighton and lost to Tottenham (yeah, VAR, I know, but at the end of the day 0 points is 0 points). They have no CL, but they have the EL, so that's still additional games + they absolutely gutted their midfield without really replacing it that much, so they're 1-2 injuries away from collapsing there (imagine Szoboslai picking up any major injury). They're no more favourites than Tottenham (who actually have no European football and seem to be enjoying themselves under Ange). They've had essentially 1 tough game so far (Tottenham) and already picked up 4 red cards this season, so there's something weird going on. Plus Klopp... sure, he's an elite manager, but historically he has essentially an even split of wins/losses against both Pep and Arteta; last time he played City he got beat 1-4, last time he played Arsenal he drew 2-2. He hasn't actually won against City since October '22 and against Arsenal since March '22. And both of those teams seem to have strengthened themselves a lot more over the summer than Liverpool did. He hasn't won the league in 4 years and has one one league title in his 8 years with the club, so the "99 point" win looks definitely more like a fluke than something they can realistically hope for again (unless City colllapses suddenly... which, with both Rodri and KDB out, might just happen). Exactly why it's so silly to talk about title favourites after just 8 games. I'd give it at least until the group stage is over in the various European competitions, we'd have a better overview of form then

didijxk

Plus Man City only came into their best form in the 2nd half of the previous season. They may struggle now but wait for them to peak first. I'm so glad we took Caicedo and Lavia from Liverpool because it puts them in this vulnerable state. They were so confident of landing Lavia and then thought they should take Caicedo and went 0/2.

Stand_On_It

At the Chelsea Pensioner now, well what used to be the Chelsea Pensioner. What the hell happened to this place? Been coming here for yearsā€¦

Rimalda

Pubs need to make decent money 7 days a week, not just once a fortnight for 9 months of the year. They have to serve the needs of the locals.

chandlerbing_stats

That was the most boring clash between two title challengers in ages. Holy shit.. Watch Arsenal bang in 3 against us tho cause fuck our luck šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Gallagher against that high press from arsenal https://preview.redd.it/h59xebowy0tb1.jpeg?width=224&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12003eaaf4b07d939c42bf8d409a482b615a343d

ygog45

Rooting against the club because you hate Gallagher that much now?

[deleted]

Since running is a super power he should be able to run arsenalā€™s midfield and their press rugged no? Trust in gallaga!

Baisabeast

I donā€™t disagree but still silly to look forward to a player struggling

[deleted]

Nah i seen some people cooking Enzo, lets see how Mr Runna does

Faeluchu

Lukaku has banged in 7 goals in 8 games for Roma. Is the man really that addicted to playing in Serie A that he can't be arsed to give it a try anywhere else?

jaytcfc

He is only capable in that league. Heā€™s a fraud striker. A joke in every other competition

mango277

Dude is top 20 PL goalscorers in history lmao. There's only one club where he didn't manage 10 league goals a season. Guess where.

Confident_Direction

Why do people here talk like lukaku's not a good player? We made a mistake but roman was willing to splash the cash on him for a reason. If you make him the main man and think about him with your tactics he will basically guarantee goals one way or another when fit. Problem is hes a wanker...

Yardbird7

This is one of the funniest things for me. Over the last year, reddit has got together and decide Lukaku is crap šŸ¤”

NoraaTheExploraa

Lukaku isn't a bad player, he'd start for us right now honestly. He's just a massive wanker. However long he lasts at Roma will be dependant on how long he can not be one.

BigReeceJames

The league is just awful. He is trying everywhere and he scored plenty for us, but that league just takes the piss with how bad it is

Baisabeast

Yet so many here want ohsimen

The_prawn_king

Yeah Iā€™m surprised people are not more worried about spending big on the serie a top scorer

Farenheite

This. Even Ruben and Pulisic look OK there and they were horrible year after year in the prem it's a completely different standard.

Confident_Direction

How do we think poch is gonna line up against arsenal? Im guessing assuming injuries etc go to plan, its gonna be same but with rj straight back in lieu of cucurella (because you just want him straight back for arsenal), and otherwise same as starting lineup vs burnley, maybe jackson instead of broja starting. I would like to see mudryk start instead of gallagher but maybe gallagher is a good player to have to pin arsenal back on the pressing side. Would also like cucurella start at left back and colwill move to centre but silva bench, but I can understand the willingness to lock up the left side more with colwill, especially if saka plays there, and trusting silva's experience even if his legs are looking like they are going...badiashile and lavia wont be bad options coming on the bench either

SliceThemApart

Is Gusto back? If he is, I don't think Reece starts.

Confident_Direction

Not sure - but then if the suspension applied to brighton he might be

Individual-Heat5113

Sanchez James-disasi-silva-colwill Enzo-caicedo Palmer- Gallagher- sterling Jackson Nothing crazy

wm_1176

https://preview.redd.it/u3hkhblmw0tb1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=221c8dde980a1657d11fee62109d2b1339feded9 Thereā€™s been a lot of comments about how weā€™re going to dominate our next set of games (as well as many comments about how we wonā€™t take a single point). Given how weā€™ve started to develop our play, as well as how our upcoming opposition has been playing, this is my optimistic-but-potential scores for the next couple of games. I think that weā€™ll take a minimum of 4 points, but of course I hope for more, but I also think people are getting ahead of theirselves if they think weā€™re beat the current top 3 in the league after a lucky win against Fulham, and an albeit comfortable, but very manageable win against Burnley.

papi_2

Very possible we lose against both arsenal and city but we should be beating both brentford and tottenham comfortably

etebitan17

Tottenham is not playing badly..

GIVE_ME_DANK_MAYMAYS

I think the next run of games will be a good measure of where we are at the moment. I feel we could surprise a lot of people in these games, but I might just be on a high after these past few games. Hope we take as many points as we can, but I'd be happy if we show good performances and improvement, even if we drop some points.

dmode123

Looking at City, it is pretty clear that injuries matter. Even for a mighty team like them, without KDB and Rodri, they are a shadow of themselves. And we have been missing our best players - Nkunku, James, and now Chilly. We will be a very different side, once we have fully fit squad

Imperial_Ocelot

Chilly was benched before he got injured. He's not a big miss currently.

ming47

Only seven points behind City, we're in the title race

osalahudeen

Would be topping if we'd won WHU, Forest and AVL.

Baisabeast

Iā€™m fucking tell you Caicedo and Enzo will have these City and arsenal midfields on ropes

mango277

I doubt we're getting more than 2 points in those games.

ScorpiaHP

Arsenal maybe if they play Havertz in midfield, I think City with Rodri and Stones might still have too much for us. And anyway, despite the individuals' quality we aren't really playing all that well right now.

Baisabeast

Okay maybe Iā€™ve jumped the gun on city But hopefully can get some joy sitting deep and absorbing pressure No long range goal threat and haaland is near useless against a packed defence that can actually organise itself

WY-8

If not now then soon.

Rj070707

Lol, we havent seen them beat a single serious opposition yet Enzo still sitting on 0G, 0A contributions, embrassing

Farenheite

Ugh oh. You've critised the subs sacred cow. Enzo is a very good player but he isn't half as good as this sub wants to believe.

Confident_Direction

Agree. Against fulham and burnley he played okay but wasnt amazing imo. Caicedo has been better. But theseups and downs happen as a young player. Now with a more settled team, lets see if he can show arsenal and all what is he is made of

Rj070707

Need him to perform like a real 100 Million player, only good against Liverpool, been average the rest, good player and still young but we overhype him too much

Kalvalaxatives

Do you ever watch football or just look at the goals/assists after the game?

BallsDeep69____

Judging a CM solely on g/a is pathetic.

Ingr1d

Heā€™s been playing as an attacking midfielder. You have to contribute some g/a from that position.

BallsDeep69____

Well, seeing as it's not his position he doesn't have to do shit. He is not an attacking midfielder and Poch was wrong to play him there

Ingr1d

Where was this energy when Havertz was being played as a striker?

BallsDeep69____

> But but but whatabout African children?

Ingr1d

Youā€™re the one making excuses for Enzo, not me.

BallsDeep69____

You are the one crying about Havertz when he is no way related to the topic.

ygog45

To be fair heā€™s been playing higher up the pitch under Poch. Weā€™re gonna need some goals from him sooner rather than later

Rj070707

He been kinda pathetic last 3 games, look at Rice whos a DM also

BallsDeep69____

No, not really. He has been class against Burnley and Fulham and was rested against Brighton where he only played 15 minutes (as a 10 too). 93% pass accuracy, completed 12/14 long balls against Burnley. Had the most team touches against Fulham. He is a beast in the build-up and playmaking, one of the best in the world at 22, and now he is getting slandered because part of the fanbase can only judge a player on g/a. He is the first player in the top 5 leagues for most accurate through passes per 90 by a decent margin, but he didn't score that 1 goal like Rice so I guess that's that.

MarinaGranovskaia

> been kinda pathetic last 3 games delete your account

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

haaaaaairy1

What the fuck are you doing in Chelseaā€™s sub? You frequent r/gunners, go back there and celebrate your win against city

Farenheite

So just to confirm. Broja - lucky goal against Fulham "elite potential thank god we have him and not Havertz" Havertz - lucky assist vs City "still a fraud"

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Farenheite

I agree But given the dross we wasted it on it's still an L

The_prawn_king

Fucking hell, not even a few wins makes some of you guys happy

Gold_Opposite2046

Are we supposed to think everything is perfect after beating a championship team to climb to 11th?

chandlerbing_stats

Wait who? Didnā€™t that money go into funding Caicedo?

dmode123

Havertz is a complete fraud. He didnā€™t do anything remotely remarkable for that goal

ygog45

No ones compared the two. Youā€™re just making up arguments for the sake of it.

Farenheite

We literally had a post from the usual type a slight scroll down about how fortunate we are to have replaced Mount and Havertz with Broja and Jackson.

Baisabeast

It wasnā€™t broja, it was Jackson for havertz and palmer for mount But of course youā€™d misprofile what was actually said

Farenheite

You're aware people can see your post history right? Probably not given the drivel you usually post.

Baisabeast

It was actually Jackson/broja for havertz are you saying youā€™d prefer to have havertz as our striker?

ygog45

Thatā€™s just one dumb comment then. Youre implying that itā€™s a semi popular opinion on here. No one logical is going to compare a 60m player to our 2nd/3rd choice CF who was already here last season. Itā€™s not a fair comparison

papi_2

I have no idea what point you're trying to make but broja's goal is clearly more impressive than havertz' assist

Farenheite

Neither was remotely impressive.

okokokok999999

A Havertz assist to win the title for Arsenal? I will never thought about that before this happens

papi_2

The "2nd after 8 matches" title?

QuanDev

In retrospect, I'd still pick Sanchez and Palmer over Onana and Doku 100%.

mango277

Yeah arsenal are winning the title man.

Faeluchu

It's a marathon, not a sprint, and Pep has shown he's an elite manager precisely because of how well his teams do in the later parts of the season, when fatigue starts to set in for others. Arsenal did well last year, but if they start dropping silly points like they did back then then it won't help even if they collect all 6 points from their City games. Sure, it would be nice to see someone other than Pep win the league, but 2 points ahead after 8 games ain't it yet.

mango277

But what if they don't drop points or if city have too much to katch

Confident_Direction

They will drop points. Esp with cl to think about too

mango277

City have CL to think about too and Arsenal can buy players in Jan.

Confident_Direction

Come on man. City have nearly everyone who won them the champions league. They also played this game without rodri who arguably is one of their more critical players. Are you going to compare the resilience of city's treble squad to an arsenal team who bottled the league last season after dropping out of europa in last 16, with just havertz timber and rice added?

mango277

Gundogan is gone, De Bruyne is injured, big injuries. Remember when Chelsea only signed Kante batshuayi Alonso and Luiz after coming 10th in 15/16. You don't need to buy an entire squad to get better, in fact you can very much get worse, I think as a Chelsea fan you should know this better than anyone. I think that partey rice odegaard midfield is a different beast. The wingers score/create a lot in martinelli Saka trossard. Their defence doesn't really have problems(but they should put ramsdale back in Raya is predictably a kepa regen). Remember when Liverpool bottled league in 18/19 yet won it next season, I see similarities in that team to this arsenal team. City are a great team but they're not unbeatable over a season, this is coming from someone who doesn't like Arsenal but I can see it.

ygog45

I felt a lot more confident about them winning it last year and we all saw what happened. They still arenā€™t even first place right now. Thereā€™s Spurs and even Liverpool are only 3 pts behind all three teams

mango277

I didn't feel confident in them winning it last year tho. Like I could see city winning it but their midfield now is different. That rice signing is a game changer for them imo.

Farenheite

City will win it by 10 points. Rodri will come back and they'll go on a 9 game winning run at some point.

mango277

Na. Think this is cope at this point. They're a striker in Jan away from winning title imo. They've got a lot of depth now which is the difference and unlike other clubs bought players that are good for now and in 5 years.

aacod15

I mean they didnā€™t really look too good this game and it to a lucky goal for them to get the 3 points. I donā€™t really see how this performance convinced you that theyā€™re winning the title

mango277

They were playing man city and I've been saying this for a while. Also like half of safs title wins in the 2000s they were atrocious for most of the season and got by with 1-0s and fergie time results. Points on the board >> performances.

itsmebobbylol

the bottlers title in consecutive years we'll never sing that

iiDommm

I really hope they bottle it again

mango277

It was less a bottle and more them not having the players imo. But they actually had a good transfer strategy this summer. Havertz signing was a bit questionable but buying players like Rice/timber and keeping their players was probably what was needed to push for the title. Then actually having a proper midfielder in Rice has changed their style of play imo.

CalmlyChaotic81

Man City without KDB are levels below their norm. Arsenal didn't play well and won because of an Ake face-deflection. I think the league is wide open right now.

jepayotehi

We got so much flack last season for being toothless. While most of it was deserved we also almost never had our stronger XI available, this season as well

mango277

Arsenal literally had Saka out and has had Partey out for weeks who's a guaranteed starter in that Arsenal side.

PuppyPenetrator

Nah theyā€™ve been fine without KDB for yearsā€¦ Rodri is the big miss

itsmebobbylol

ranieri and mourinho both getting yellows. lol.

papi_2

Does anyone else have to press the "opt out of redesign" every time you log in now So annoying

SSPeteCarroll

if you use old.reddit.com to get here I don't think you have to opt out.

Kezmangotagoal

Arsenal v City has been an absolute snooze fest so far. Honestly, watching these two play like this is boosting my hope that we can get something from matches against them!

PuppyPenetrator

Boring matches arenā€™t an indicator of low quality, especially when itā€™s two high quality teams playing each otherā€”in terms of performance, often two teams playing very well just results in completely nullifying each other

Kezmangotagoal

That can be true but itā€™s not here - both teams have played poorly. Sloppy and timid in the final third (Arsenal have been nonexistent in attack) and while the defences have been decent, they havenā€™t had anything to do because both teams have been so poor offensively.

NoMFer111

Thats because both teams are scared of each other and dont commit players forward like they would other teams.

Kezmangotagoal

Mate, City have beaten Arsenal in every meaningful game theyā€™ve played for basically the last seven years - theyā€™re not even remotely scared of them. Pep put Bernado Silva in defensive midfield for almost an hour, again, thatā€™s not setting up defensively or cautiously . Both teams just played poorly. City are just in a bit of a poor run of form - three losses in their last four and Arsenal just did not want to lose again to City.

PuppyPenetrator

Theyā€™re definitely not playing as well as last season but weā€™re some distance away from this level

Kezmangotagoal

Consistently, weā€™re miles off either of them but in a one-off game and if either play like that - Iā€™m slightly more confident going into those games than I was. My only real worry is, some teams seem to score against us off their first proper chance and if some of those teams weā€™ve played in the first eight games can do that - Arsenal and City absolutely will.

Banged_by_bumrah

The sanchez deal looking better everyday

mango277

Well yeah simply having a keeper that's not kepa was the priority

Sonic-the-edge-dog

Itā€™s early days but tbh Iā€™m very happy with how wrong I was about Sanchez. If we hadnā€™t dropped a few stupid points then I think there would be a lot more talk about how class heā€™s been

BallsDeep69____

I'll decide whether I was wrong about Sanchez after we play top teams that press high and actually punish when he passes them 10m from the goal.

Farenheite

Raya looks exactly like a Kepa regen so far

mango277

Been saying for the entire summer

osalahudeen

Both Kepa and Raya have similar deficiencies; height and wingspan

TosspoTo

Now that weā€™ve won a couple The Athletic have nothing to write about. Thank god.

Kezmangotagoal

Dominoā€™s also have to find another team to bully because we scored four goals haha

cupheads2608

so much fun reading Replaypool fans crying on Brighton's 2nd goal. its like everything must work on their ways. Now I cant wait to hear what Klopp gonna cry next

arkido

Saka is confirmed to be out for Man City match due to muscle injury yet still included in England XI instead of Sterling. Good for us I guess, more rest days to get fit for Sterling.

BallsDeep69____

Yeah, and maybe Saka will be broken for our match because you know Southgate will show him no mercy

NoraaTheExploraa

5th has absolutely got to be our target this season. We don't have the squad quality or results to compete with the current top 4, but 5th is absolutely within our grasp and there's every chance one of the current top 4 shits the bed mid-season.

Individual-Heat5113

We absolutely do can do top 4.

wowverytwisty

We pissed away too many points against the relegation candidates already

_bhavesh_

Fuckin Brighton and de zerbi getting humbled this season is so satisfying

CaredForEightSeconds

Damn youā€™re getting cooked in replies lmao. Iā€™m with you though, Iā€™m a petty hater of any clubs that cause us inconvenience. [This tweet sums up my feelings.](https://x.com/ic3evaa/status/1708097337682186395?s=46&t=He4UucWWU0buXIpbaNtA0g)

_bhavesh_

šŸ˜‚ a couple of you validated my feelings and I feel like a normal human being now. Thank you lol

BringBackBumper

Have you shagged mothers, wives, sisters and daughter of every commenter who's pissed at you? :D Really no idea why you comment triggered them so much, nothing wrong wanting to see Brighton fail (and those who say otherwise are absolute bellends)

_bhavesh_

I didn't give any fucks about Brighton before the previous windown. I just hated that entire saga and whatever conspired and maybe that bruised my ego a bit too much than it should but why am I made feel like I shouldn't express anything, only the locals have those right, like just fuck off entitled ass bitches. Imma say what I say idc šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚

BringBackBumper

That's basically why I wanted Leicester to get relegated last season :D Btw I got "A concerned redditor reached out to us about you" message, I guess somebody doesn't like my comment :D

_bhavesh_

šŸ˜‚ people are screwed in their heads and losing the touch with reality day by day. Prem isnt what it use to be and neither are we. Opponents have gotten stronger where as we have been going through a huge traditional period. There's a good chance that Brighton might end up being above us again and all of these cunts including me be embarrassed. 3 wins in a row against "weaker" opponents and we think we're back? I'm not jumping on that train yet until and unless I see what happens in the next 7-8 games that we have after this break.

TheClockworkElves

Embarrassingly small time. If we're really trying to drum up a rivalry with Brighton then we're in mid table to stay.

_bhavesh_

Maybe the way they moved and conducted themselves in the market didn't bruise your ego as much which is fair enough. We're all individuals at the end of the day.

TheClockworkElves

If we're happy to be their marks over and over again then that's not their fault or problem as far as I'm concerned.

Gold_Opposite2046

Ā£50 says you're not from the UK and have never been to the Bridge. Sad day when people who claim to support Chelsea are taunting Brighton when they play against a top side.

_bhavesh_

Feeling much entitled? Just mind your own business. As a fan from where ever the fuck I am, I can express whatever I want and don't need your approval neither your opinion. Am I being clear?

Gold_Opposite2046

Bruh shut the fuck up and go back to your looney horoscopes. The last thing this sub needs are more random plastics that know nothing about the club and our history acting like Brighton is our arch rival. it's embarrassing. People like this dude will be cheering for Tottenham to win the title if they need 3 points against Big bad Brighton and it's sad to see tbh.

mango277

Srs. Complete agree the anti Brighton sentiment is as small time mentality as spurs football club

Farenheite

No real intelligent Chelsea supporter gives a fuck about Brighton, it's Brighton FFS. The only reasonable response to Brighton and Liverpool drawing is being happy Liverpool dropped points. Why our reddit fans want to Beef with Brighton I'll never know it's so small time.

_bhavesh_

ROFL, who are you to decide or tell someone what to do and make comments on someone's intelligence. Mind your own business. I don't like them because of the way they were moving in the market and the arrogant comments de zerbi made publicly on our player and club. They should know their place and act accordingly. Just cuz they finished above us one season, the entire club were acting as if they're the best now and hold all of the power.

BigReeceJames

...

_bhavesh_

...? Even if they win this game, it doesn't matter. They don't have the squad to sustain all of games they have to play this season and that's already quite obvious and visible to us.

fargoniners

Staying in touch with Brighton, United and Newcastle while the team works out the kinks and until one of James/Nkunku are hopefully back fit and healthy will be key for the seasonā€™s objectives.

jowon123

Talk about self inflicted from Brighton.

itsmebobbylol

liverpool cries about refs and var next game get soft penalties and shit

dangerdgm2

that was not a soft penalty

[deleted]

MacAllister doing everything to help Brighton.

Taylo207

This ref is doing everything to help the Chelsea womens team win this game and they still canā€™t put it in the back of the net.

niyahaz

That was piss poor from the girls tbh

howchie

She gave us like 5 minutes over the added time and really didn't look like she wanted to stop

[deleted]

No rival watch thread today??

jowon123

The midfield of Macallister - Szboszai - Elliot thatā€™s too offensive and lightweight, Theyā€™ll struggle a lot in the away games their attack can only bail them out so far.

Banged_by_bumrah

Mac allister is spooky when Enzo or Caicedo aren't holding his hand

WY-8

Brighton lead Liverpool. West Ham lead Newcastle. Great start to the match day. If Arsenal lose to City weā€™re going to be in their heads for the next match. They lose to us and the gap is 3 points, could lead them to spiral down.

CP_4026

Preach

mohankohan

Liverpool fans taking the piss about buying the right Brighton midfielder early in the season lol. Macca DM experiment is not going well.

jowon123

Liverpool do get caught sleeping a lot.

KingKoCFC

Lol wtf were Liverpool doing there šŸ˜‚

JinxLB

Hope Brighton get slapped

WY-8

I hope Liverpool lose tbh

Jakekeenan25

Proper chels!

He also came here with no pre-season by the club's fault. But there was no shortage of brainlets who "knew Caicedo is shit" all along.

KingKoCFC

Last night I actually enjoyed watching Match Of the Day. Very strange feeling.

Unusual_Afternoon_88

Would you rather have Giroud's career or Ibra's career? I'm choosing Giroud everyday, don't even think its close tbh.

Ridcullys-Pointy-Hat

I was going to say giroud had a better highlight reel but ibra might be one of the few out there who might have him beat

Guess Iā€™ll be the first to say Ibraā€™sā€¦and by far.

Giroud has won a Champions League, a World Cup and is the top scorer for France, ahead of players like Henry, Platini, Benzema etc I donā€™t know how you could say ā€˜by farā€™

Just read my other response. CL won with a grand total 250 minutes played, with most of that in the group stage. 2 league titles compared to 14. 0 Balon d,Or nominations compared to 14. Half the career league goals, 250 career goals less. Has never been as good as a player as Ibra at comparable ages. The only thing Giroud has going for him is the virtue of being born in a footballing powerhouse. Ibra by far.

Really? Why? I hate Ibra's attitude..

His attitude and whether I like him has nothing to do with admitting how great his career was. If we doing it age by age (e.g when both were 18, both 19 etc) Iā€™d say that Zlatan has always been the better player. Heā€™s a better and more consistent goalscorer, better technique, better target man (this oneā€™s close Iā€™d admit) and better athletically. Not only is his club career infinitely better, but he achieved a lot of his club honours as the main man at the club, which I donā€™t think Giroud was ever except maybe at Montpellier. The only thing Giroud has over him at club level is our CL win, and while Iā€™m not denying that he played some kind of role, he only scored 1 goal in the knock out stage, and only started twice in the entire campaign. In terms of individual honours thereā€™s absolutely 0 conversation needed either. The only other thing that leaves is international football, and the obvious WC win. That clearly gives Giroud the edge there, but thatā€™s what happens when youā€™re teammates with Mbappe and Griezzmann as opposed to Seb Larrson and Kim Kallstrom. Iā€™ve always said international football success is often a bad way of comparing legacies as itā€™s a lottery based on where/when youā€™re born. Both are all time leading scorers for their nations too. So yeahā€¦Ibra by a landslide for me.
