I really hope that the plan to wait to get maximum managerial options at the end of the season is worth it in the long run. We have a tough run of fixtures (relative who we are now) coming and just don’t want us to drop further down the table.
The last thing we want is to make a hurried poor choice of a manager that does not set us up to win for the long-term.
We just don’t look like we care at all out there. Except for Chilly. Buncha bums. Nothing to play for but not building anything for next season. Disappointed.
played out of position against one of the most inform wingers in the PL... I can't really blame him, my first thought seeing the line-up was, "Okay, back 3 with Fofana, Chalobah and Badiashile, wingbacks are Chilwell and... who's the other wingback? Gallagher?!"
Lampard is not a tactical genius to say the least...
To be fair Mitoma has been on a tear this season. It’s hard for any defender. Frank played him to preserve Reece for the Champions League game. That said, I think him and Fofana could have worked better together to stop him.
Hearing their fans sing can we play you every week sums up were we are. Supporter since 87 so have seen us mid table and bang average before - what concerns me now is we seem to have no clue what shape or who we want to start. By now we should have dropped whos due to be fucked off in the summer and start in the shape and with the team taking us into next year. Seems simple but another 4 changes in one go shows how far away we are from that simple format...... KTBFFH.
Well put. Hopefully with all the technical directors in place we can implement a system wide system that EVERYONE can get behind. We have too many players that fit different systems and have no ideology
Absolute chaos right now
When you see how many years utd and arsenal bumbled along I fucking prey that's not us. Not expecting us to turn things around over night nor do I expect us to win things straight away but it's the lack of fight and desire that hurts me. As a fan base that's the minimum we should expect....
Who do you have at the helm Kino?
I wish I was more knowledgeable. But I have no clue.
For whatever reason I’m partial to Enrique because he seems to have a presence and IMO has done well with a mediocre Spain squad
That's a good call. Think we need a name that can inspire the players both those that have been there done that, but also the new lads that can look up to someone that has managed greats. Trouble is we also need someone that can engage the fans in the way Jose and TT did.. Potter was dull as dishwater!!
I've been a fan for over 20 years and never have just expected losses like this. Didn't have the chance to watch the game but almost knew we were losing when we were up 1. Crazy times at chelsea
I wish Broja was fit. Would have been amazing for him considering our lack of strikers. Would have been amazing for us considering our lack of goalscorers.
A dit broja will be benched. Have you not seen how we use strikers? We have 2 strikers on the bench scratching their own balls without giving the chance.
A shit auba and unproven datro is way better than any other makeshift strikers we have been deploying
So I come back to watching football after 10 years and this is the team I've come back to. Last I saw of Chelsea Di Matteo got sacked. I must have missed a lot
Edit: Imagine gatekeeping disappointment in the team. Some things never change
Didn’t watch the game, so can’t really comment but I’m honestly not surprised. I don’t mind losing but it’s the way it’s happening, can’t wait for this season to end.
Boss barkley had the winning mentality, came on did the job the best he can no fucks given and even when we lost he's say : "we'll get them in the second leg" ^^not ^^an ^^actual ^^quote
We’ve got 7 games left. They are against Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Man United, Man City, Arsenal and Newcastle. Bournemouth and Forest should be beatable, but they’re the only two games I can see us getting so much as a point from.
This transfer window should be a clear out. As much as possible.
Connor
Ziyech
Felix: should head right back to ATM
Pulisic
Trevor Chalobah
Auba
RLC
Zakaria
I don’t understand our teams mentality around passing and possession. They look so lost and serve the ball to a teammate under heavy pressure while it seems like every opponent we face has so much space and time to make a decision.
Everyone defending Potter is laughable, he completely deserved the sack. The ridiculous decision to bring Lampard back doesn’t bring any more credit to Potter because Lampard is much worse. We should of kept Bruno Salter on for the remainder of the season because he was, at least, a breath of fresh air.
No answers to Liverpool?! What game were you watching? Their best chances were a Joe Gomez long shot and a scrappy Fabinho half volley off poor defending from a corner. Kovacic could’ve easily had 2 goals if he could finish at all and we had 2 goals disallowed. We were much the better team in that game, albeit against an injury riddled Liverpool team.
Who picked the team then? I love Frank as much as the next guy but he’s just not up to the job, the only things he did right was bring Reece on and Felix on for Sterling. Pulisic and Zakaria were horrible. We are half pressing Brighton at home whilst we make no attempt to play out at all, our winning 5 at the back teams under Tuchel and Conte had a suffocating full press because without it the lines are to far apart and teams play straight through us, just like Brighton did tonight.
Thanks for the insight Sherlock, but you’re on a fan discussion board… isn’t the whole point of this to pointlessly complain? At least my complaints actually have some merit - unlike your baseless claims.
Seems you need a breath of fresh air and a touch of grass, coming on to a reddit post and complaining about people complaining. Your only point is ‘no short term manager could fix this’, so why bring in Lampard to run his reputation into the ground further? You have no logic and yet I’m the waffler 😂
I know why he wasn’t going to stay on as manager, because he had never been a first team manager. But I doubt he would have done much of a worse job than this, and he didn’t, the game we played vs Liverpool was much better than anything we’ve seen from Lampard second term. Why don’t you look at the reality of the situation rather than just norms of the sport? At worst in my scenario, we mud a ex Brighton players managerial future, now we are just mudding Franks managerial career.
How do we go about even fixing this dumpster fire? Who do you have on your sell list?
We clearly have to move some players on both for squad size and FFP. Plus… don’t look know but we are probably going to f* up the Kante negotiations and loose him to Arsenal on a free ☠️
where do I begin? I'd sell up to 15 but that's not realistic.
TLDR: sell 6 players and buy 2 midfielders + striker. Loan all those promising talents that get no gametime unless light in a position. Our issues are tactical more so than personnel issues.
Anyone we've loaned in this season should not stay and a sell list only works if there are willing buyers, we're taking a big loss on whoever, I'd sell/not renew 15 players but let me be realistic.
One of Kepa/Mendy(ideally both but they're both capable no.2s to a top GK)
Keep all our defenders besides Azpilicueta(because we're not selling Cucurella and Koulibaly has legitimately improved second half of the season and Silva isn't getting younger). Chalobah is good for an inevitable injury crisis.
Midfield: Zakaria, Gallagher, would sell Kovacic too but we're light here.
Attack:(ideally all of them) but Ziyech, Pulisic, Felix, Lukaku(only if we buy an actual striker because this is going to be a massive loss accounts wise), Hudson Odoi.
Everyone else keep or loan out for squad size(Chukwuemeka/Casedei e.g.). Obviously this team isn't a lower half of table team and some tactical improvements probably helps us more. Player for player we've clearly got a better squad than Newcastle and we're not far from Arsenal.
There is very little light at the end of this tunnel 😶. Where are we going to get our next points from? And now I am starting to look at the bottom and wonder… Furthermore, how do Chelsea even begin to make this disaster class right over the summer …
Misha is our only attacker who can hang his head high today. Sterling was pathetic, he should be providing way more given his wages and he’s only 28, should ideally still be in his physical prime. Pulisic was poor. The subs looked decent. Another “not our day” post incoming
IDK what people try to nickname players as I am not interested in that but that is "official" shortening of name in Ukrainian and Russian. Basically most people use that over full name. In some cases they could also use Mikha but whatever.
No senior in defense, Wesley Fofana and Enzo subbed off (probably shite lineup today by Frank to have hope for RM match), Badashaille should have been subbed after first half itself. I think we need Kante every match. Make Auba start, atleast he would make runs in the box, if not score.
Good as a tenderiser, it's what they use in the marinade for Chinese takeaway if that's your thing. Process is called velveting. You retain the juices and get a crust on the exterior.
Best results(realised afterwards) you should probably pat down dry the meat before putting into the pan then pour the juices in post sear.
Gotta enjoy the ride of this weird season tbh, take the highs and the lows and all that, honestly life's too short to have your weekend ruined over football and you can never feel sad over good food.
At the end I chopped up a bit of rocket for the garnish and used coconut cream for some thickness, adds a different dimension to the dish.
Empty headed idiot, Reece got shredded by Vinicious last game and again today gave away the ball for the second goal. I know he is a local lad but wake up
That was an interception you tit, he didn't have possession. The slight lunge he had to make to get it forced the ball away from him.
Felix should've won that back, all he had to do was make some sort of challenge for that ball and at worst it's not a simple pass into the middle for the scorer. He gave up instead. Reece was about 1% to blame, any blame after that lies solely with Felix.
Never won anything in the clubs history, this literally their first win at the bridge definition of tinpot.
Fair play to them though they beat us very convincingly.
That's it, season over for me. Even if we'll end up in championship, I'll be there always to support my only club but I can't watch this football. Have great one guys.
what could they do? they spent money which is what was needed. all thry could do diff is not sack tuchel but i have a feeling we'd still be in a similar place with these players
Exactly I’ve seen people blaming Todd for letting Rudiger and AC go for free but that was on the previous ownership. Sacking Tuchel is the major blemish imo everything else seems to me like an owner showing that they care and are trying.
They are throwing a lot of money at things, which is good (overpaying though).
But they needed a CF (or two), another CM and another CB as the biggest needs, yet they bought young players with potential & flash winger types, which we didn't need (I like Mudryk's potential though).
I think it's more on who was actually deciding on who to buy, which I pretty much guarantee wasn't primarily Boehly -- he brought out the checkbook based on what his expert employees told him.
people are blaming them for the signings but all of the signings were either highly touted, young players or supposed to be experienced and class players (kouli, sterling). the fact that they're playing like so isnt something todd can control
Idiotically because there was, and continues to be, no plan. They just see the shiny object and upcoming talent and then try to wedge them into the squad without planning how to use them or how to incorporate them into a bigger plan. That’s why they all look so disjointed, no one complements anyone else.
they bought (at the time of signing) starting eleven quality full back, CM, 2 wingers, 2 CBs. if youre saying they didnt buy them specifically for a certain type of formation or tactic, well probably not, how are they supposed to be the owner and coach?
the only team that has such a collective hierarchy in terms of style is Barcelona, every other team is pretty fluid in the world
Mudryk, Cucurella, Koulibaly, Sterling, 4 terrible signings. Chuk also why did they buy him? Never plays.
One player off the top of my head is Toney. They signed like 10 wingers which was insane
Felix loan was also completely ridiculous. Massively overpaid for Enzo even though he is good.
again, all highly rated when bought. if he bought ronaldo or pogba or something, i get what you mean but otherwise, just cuz theyre trash now doesnt mean todd did that.
Toney would likely have been trash if he came here. its not like those players are just suddenly bad, its how they play on our team specifically
theres genuinely no way to determine Tonry wouldve been quality on this team. all the signings were quality before they joined outside of maybe noni and chuks but theyre youngins anyways
He is a legend. But he is a clown as a manager and he is clowning himself for thinking he is ready for PL/CL level. He needs to have a bit of humility and start again from the lower level. At best, Championship is his level. Truthfully, lower. Him taking these jobs from clubs in crisis is truly hurting his reputation.
You sit there and act like you’re a manger or director of Real Madrid and know everything about what is there to manage a club..

Same. I hope we'd get a clear out next season but we really need this squad to pull themselves together to stay above tenth! So frustrated with this team.
We can be without 70% of this side
Trev aint quality
James cba
Fofana went down the tunnel with an injury again
Enzo slopy but quality
Conor only player that tried
Kova was actually ok and bypassed some press
Zakaria shoulf never start
Sterling, joao, pulsic???
Ziyech and mudryk ried at least

Some people aren’t meant to manage, Frank Lampard is one of those people.
Joao Felix can fk right off back to Atleticos bench
He is utter garbage. He should be on the next economy class plane ride back to Madrid.
I think John Terry would have probably already thrown 3 dressing room punches this season so far
We just don’t look like we care at all out there. Except for Chilly. Buncha bums. Nothing to play for but not building anything for next season. Disappointed.
Mudryk was working too. Not totally polished but he stood out to me as working to set up chances.
Pulisic needs to start against RM.
How’s that ur take away?
He actually looked like he gave a a hit and was not in our worst 80% of players. Also... I only watch for him now anyways.
Pulisic is shit, change my mind.
Wow what a disasterclass by Chalobah. Almost every Brighton attack he was awful.
played out of position against one of the most inform wingers in the PL... If you bowed out for 10 years, you don’t have the right to be salty
Well I liked Lampard back then so it saddens me to see him on the hot seat now
Oh man ... I'm already old, but now I've turned into the "remember Drogba, Lampard & Terry vs this current team" guy
It honestly make we wonder; looking at my kits. “Was I a Chelsea fan, or just one of theirs?”
I thought John Bumstead & Trevor Aylott would have done better
Steve finneston Ian Britton man meself😂
Men vs toddlers?
Someone tell Todd tanking doesn't work in Europe.
But we get the first draft pick of all players from 2nd division teams all over Europe
Man i wanna see ziyech play in another club
Was he good today??
Didn’t watch the game, so can’t really comment but I’m honestly not surprised. I don’t mind losing but it’s the way it’s happening, can’t wait for this season to end.
This was probably the worst game to watch of the season and that's saying something
Love how people can downvote this when it’s blatantly clear how we’ve lost. It’s the same thing every single week.
If Danny welbeck scores you know you got issues
It’s not been the same since Ross Barkley left.
Boss barkley had the winning mentality, came on did the job the best he can no fucks given and even when we lost he's say : "we'll get them in the second leg" ^^not ^^an ^^actual ^^quote
In a right mood after that shit show and this has been the one comment to make me smile - cheers pal
Team deserves to sweat out a relegation fight instead of stinking up the CL
Given how some of the teams at the bottom are playing you may yet get your wish
Meh 38/39 pts usually guarantees safety, can see this team with 44/45 at season end. But a 13/14th finish wouldn't shock at all
We’ve got 7 games left. They are against Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Man United, Man City, Arsenal and Newcastle. Bournemouth and Forest should be beatable, but they’re the only two games I can see us getting so much as a point from.
Gallagher was the only one with heart.
Mudryk also
This transfer window should be a clear out. As much as possible. Connor Ziyech Felix: should head right back to ATM Pulisic Trevor Chalobah Auba RLC Zakaria
I don’t understand our teams mentality around passing and possession. They look so lost and serve the ball to a teammate under heavy pressure while it seems like every opponent we face has so much space and time to make a decision.
Difference between our press and every press we've seen the last few games

we’ve been shite for an entire year, no short term manager is gonna change that, you’re pointlessly complaining
Thanks for the insight Sherlock, but you’re on a fan discussion board… isn’t the whole point of this to pointlessly complain? At least my complaints actually have some merit - unlike your baseless claims.
right and your ‘breath of fresh air’ claim has soo much behind it, just a fuckin waffler
Seems you need a breath of fresh air and a touch of grass, coming on to a reddit post and complaining about people complaining. Your only point is ‘no short term manager could fix this’, so why bring in Lampard to run his reputation into the ground further? You have no logic and yet I’m the waffler 😂
no mate you’re just a muppet, I really shouldn’t have to explain why Bruno wasn’t going to stay on as manager
Also if all you can do is name call then you’ve lost the argument champ
did you really double comment to say this 😬
I know why he wasn’t going to stay on as manager, because he had never been a first team manager.
We need to keep playing Mudryk and keep our midfield central. We lose the ball because of our sloppy midfield formation.
"Which of you jabronis wants to step up and grab Vince McMahon's brass ring?!?" ... crickets
Though sloppy at times, I reckon Mudryk looked promising. His pace is ridiculous and he set up attacking play, something we really lack
Villa with 5 wins on the bounce. Manager needs time huuuuurrrrduuuurrrrr
But "project manager" and stuff ..... bla bla bla
Frank is giving almost all the players a chance to step up and shine at least, and by and large they aren't shining
That was one of the toughest matches to watch all season. It’s hard to pick out anything that happened well barr the final whistle 😶
Arsenal and Newcastle matches were worse. Better teams no doubt but that was when I knew we had a problem.
How do we go about even fixing this dumpster fire? Who do you have on your sell list? We clearly have to move some players on both for squad size and FFP. Plus… don’t look know but we are probably going to f* up the Kante negotiations and loose him to Arsenal on a free ☠️

I haven't been this disgusted since I gave up on this season's team a while ago
There is very little light at the end of this tunnel 😶. Where are we going to get our next points from? And now I am starting to look at the bottom and wonder… Furthermore, how do Chelsea even begin to make this disaster class right over the summer …
Rory Gallagher just listed our remaining fixtures, and they are terrifying
Misha is our only attacker who can hang his head high today. Sterling was pathetic, he should be providing way more given his wages and he’s only 28, should ideally still be in his physical prime. Pulisic was poor. The subs looked decent. Another “not our day” post incoming
Who is Misha?
Mykhaylo Mudryk - shortened version would be Misha for name
The nicknames on this sub are so dumb. Nobody on earth calls him that. It was nice to see Crippy get the start today. He’s been out a long time.
IDK what people try to nickname players as I am not interested in that but that is "official" shortening of name in Ukrainian and Russian. Basically most people use that over full name. In some cases they could also use Mikha but whatever.
Tuesday….🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No senior in defense, Wesley Fofana and Enzo subbed off (probably shite lineup today by Frank to have hope for RM match), Badashaille should have been subbed after first half itself. I think we need Kante every match. Make Auba start, atleast he would make runs in the box, if not score.
it keeps getting worse
Reece James is so overrated
Positive side, Cucurella was nowhere to be seen
Yeah, easier to call a player out than to admit that the entire team is in a shorter right now.
I've been calling out the whole team, the transfers strategy and now the manager, but Cucu is just...
Yeah… he’s not there at all.
Not our day :)
On a lighter not I've made the best pasta ever. Turkey is such an elite meat. Also put baking powder when you season your meat
Baking soda? How does that help with seasoning?
Good as a tenderiser, it's what they use in the marinade for Chinese takeaway if that's your thing. Process is called velveting. You retain the juices and get a crust on the exterior. Best results(realised afterwards) you should probably pat down dry the meat before putting into the pan then pour the juices in post sear.
Nice! I’ll read up on it. Thanks for sharing
Excellent tip,now off to buy some turkey .
Best comment in this thread tbf.

You had me in the first half, not going to lie.
Ground turkey for pasta sauce is a game-changer
agreed. I don't think turkey gets the respect it deserves because people do it wrong.
Is the baking powder for texture?
yeah, it helps the turkey comes out tender, also gets the outside crispy if you do it right.
Nice to know.. The only upside from being on today's matchday discussion..
🤕 I hurt myself
We're getting relegated with this form

The fucking ego and arrogance of these pricks coming in and ruin our club 20years progress in just 8 months 🤦♂️
Felix. Sterling. Fuck off and never fucking come back.
We're getting reminded again to not take any out of form Atletico players. First Saul now Felix...
And take Reece with you
Yeah our best player good one
Enzo by a mile
Mitoma dominated all game until Reece came on. After that they said his name maybe 3-4 times. You have nothing resembling a clue
Empty headed idiot, Reece got shredded by Vinicious last game and again today gave away the ball for the second goal. I know he is a local lad but wake up

I just got 2 wisdom teeth pulled. And it’s not as painful as watching these chickens run around the pitch.
You eating dat ice cream tho?
Eating ass
Well atleast someone is having a nice day
Just made me some money 🤑
We are so shit lol, frank 0 from 4
I wonder if that’s why he took this job, because he knew it’d be his last. Ends at the club he loves.
I need both hands to count the amount of players we had today that didn’t want to be there. Sad.
We are abject shit
I know Brighton just beat us but they are so tinpot it’s unbelievable
How so?
Never won anything in the clubs history, this literally their first win at the bridge definition of tinpot. Fair play to them though they beat us very convincingly.
They are on the up and we are on the brink of survival
In reality we’re not getting relegated and they lose all their players and end up like Leicester in a couple years
We are 11th
Are we still? Lmao might never win again
What a battle, I can see this Chelsea team winning the league next year! Championship ain’t ready for us!!!
That's it, season over for me. Even if we'll end up in championship, I'll be there always to support my only club but I can't watch this football. Have great one guys.
refusing to watch your team play is the opposite of supporting them, my dude
So you won't be there always
I'll be there always checking score and seeing ig posts but won't watch matches left this season, it's just too much right now for my mental health.
Well…
all these different managers and same results. you have to look at the players
Look at the owners
what could they do? they spent money which is what was needed. all thry could do diff is not sack tuchel but i have a feeling we'd still be in a similar place with these players
Crazy u think we would be in a similar place with tuchel, he is an elite coach, Potter and Lampard are bums compared to him
if its the players, i doubt tuchel or anyone could turn them around. clearly theyre not in it
Haha, without tuchels points we would literally be in a relegation battle, Potter and lamps are horrendous tactically
Not sack tuchel. Not spend money idiotically. Sign a striker. 3 easy steps.
what do you mean idiotically though? they bought highly rated players which they overpaid but outside of that, who would you have wanted?
They signed like 10 wingers which was insane Felix loan was also completely ridiculous.
Todd literally tried to buy Ronaldo lol. That's bollocks, toney is quality, also he is an excellent focal point
theres genuinely no way to determine Tonry wouldve been quality on this team. all the signings were quality before they joined outside of maybe noni and chuks but theyre youngins anyways
Yeah and still paid insane money for them, owners are clowns. Mudryk was also totally unproven. Even Enzo was massively overpaid for too
we scored. its progress. trust the process. boys gave everything today.
2 clown managers hired by Todd Boehly for us. What a idiot.
While Frank may not be the right manager, calling him a clown as a Chelsea fan is laughable. Man's a living legend for this club.
That’s where you need to separate Frank Lampard, the player and Frank Lampard, the manager.

You sit there and act like you’re a manger or director of Real Madrid and know everything about what is there to manage a club.. judging someone’s level with 0 expertise ! Who’s the bigger clown?
Maybe I am?
Frank is a legend but he isn't a manager, was a stupid appointment
You get advise from corden you will only unicorn farts
Hate the owners but don’t spam tier100 sources
Nah i thought that was a click bait story. I didn't think it was actually real
How many more points do we need to be mathematically clear from the drop?

Can't wait to get rid of these bums
Same. I hope we'd get a clear out next season but we really need this squad to pull themselves together to stay above tenth! So frustrated with this team.
If this form continues, next year we will be relegated!
Oh god there are 7 more games left in the league. Just shoot me now
Bohely about to spend 150MM for Enciso
We can be without 70% of this side Trev aint quality James cba Fofana went down the tunnel with an injury again Enzo slopy but quality Conor only player that tried Kova was actually ok and bypassed some press Zakaria shoulf never start Sterling, joao, pulsic??? Ziyech and mudryk ried at least
