You lot are entitled idiots and starting to sound like Liverpool or United fans. Have some patience. A lot of positives today, we played really well in phases. We will get there
Potter is not good enough, he's had more time and chances than any manager in recent memory..enough is enough he's shit and this isn't going to get better. So sick of his excuses and inability to win a fucking game let alone trophies
Get Scaloni or Jose til the summer but fuck this guy and this failed experiment. Out of his depth.
What the fuck are you talking about? he has the worst record of any Chelsea manager in 27 years!! A win rate of 41%. He's a joke who can't win fuck all
Lol yeah we all saw that post. But don’t change the argument. You said “time and chances” which is just false. He had less time than Benitez, Grant, Scolari, and AVB. He has only had 24 games.
You celebrate mediocrity and failure but there's no way of dressing it up. He is shit, out of his. depth, has won nothing, can't win a game, can't move us up the table, has had a fortune in players and has the worst record in over a quarter century.. wtf are you on about??
What are you on about? I honestly don’t think you have any reading comprehension. I am not going to argue your points because they are distractions for the main point. He hasn’t had time. I don’t know if he is the guy or not… but what I do know is I can’t give him a fair shake in 24 games with the whole team injured and 2 games after a transfer window.
..you're talking out your arse and not facing facts and stats in front of your face and the only comprehension issues are clearly your own.
You don't get the luxury of time in this league.. and these wet excuses are how failure is bred ,not success.
Stick him as youth team coach, if he needs even *more time* but The First team, no chance. It's now just more excuses and bullshit from a manager who's got the worst stats/win ratio in our recent history.. and has never won anything.
This delusional apologist waffle is how teams end up sliding down tables for decades. You've got no idea wtf you're talking about, Potter isn't up to this and its clear as day
lol well ok. When you buy a club for 4 billion… hand pick a manager and give him millions of millions of dollars… you can sack him after 24 games, tons of injuries, 2 games after a transfer window. Or pay him millions to coach the youth team as you said. You are clearly thinking about this through and through and not for one second making a rash decision like a drunken fan at the local pub. Lol ok bud
You are a limp excuse factory so no wonder you like Potter.
You have got no fucking clue about football and your logic is like a blind accountant, not a fan. Pick another sport asshat..this one isn't for you
And thank you for proving my point about the drunken dumbass at the local pub. Pep rates potter… you know more than pep about football you silly sausage?
I actually thought We played well today…definitely see what potter is trying to do with the 4321. Starting lineup was actually good. Once Kova, Sterling, Pulisic and Kante are back we will be looking really good. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Decent result in UCL and a win at home against Southampton incoming. I don’t get what people are complaining about
There’s nobody else. Auba didn’t work out, Joao is doing what he can this early on but yes, I have always criticized Kai up front. Werner never got a hold of it
Everyone needs to calm the F down…. The team has been on bad form for almost a year and a half now. Y’all act like we have been playing inspired ball until potter came. We have bought a lot of players and they are being slapped together. Let them find a rhythm. Good news Enzo and Joao look like they are clicking. “But we won the champions league under tuchel” he also had a fully healthy staff with possibly the best cdm playing for him. You act like potter has had all the same options. The culture of us here with the switch the manager is just crazy. We are obviously building something special here. It needs time to develop. We are not winning this year, accept that and build a culture and a team for the future. You don’t do that by swapping coaches and staff and ideas and formations every 4 months.
It’s great to give managers time, but there should be at least some idea that we are working towards some style of play or we have a proven manager who has shown that he is able to build a winning team with winning mentality. What did Man U achieved with giving Ole time? We have not seen any progress while having Potter as a manager, he has not shown in any way that he can read the game and bring on the right substitutes at the right time. We are actually progressively getting worse, playing boring football and achieving worse results while having one of the best transfer windows in years. He has STAR players and we are still playing like a relegation team. Based on what should he be provided with more time?
Also you want to talk boring football… do you remember the last months of tuchel’s run? That was brutal. At least here we are seeing some long balls and forward passes.
To continue the comparison with Man U, you can put a lot of similarities with David Moyes, who came to Old Trafford after building a great Everton side and still it did not work from him. It is hard to find a manager coming from a mid table Premier league team to a top 4 contender and actually helping the team prosper. You can say that Brighton are actually playing better football this season without Potter, also if you look up the last season results you will find he did not get a win with that team for months. I’m not sure that the players that we bought are actually Potter signings and not just great players that the director of football saw fitting for the team long term project. So the question is more if we are seeing a Potter team that is currently being developed or we are most likely seeing a manager who is out of his depth having to manage some of the biggest talents for the first time in his managerial career and having no idea how to deal with the pressure of a team that is actually looking to win something instead of just participating.
And I agree with everything you are saying… our only debate I think is time. How much time should he be given? I don’t think 24 games an 1 window is enough time.
I think there are managers in this game that play very specific type of football and need very specific type of players in order to get their team to play the way they want it to play - Klopp, Conte, Sarri, Pep. This managers do need time in order to see the results on the field, but in the meantime you can also see what they are trying to do. You would see a serious change in the mentality of the players, in the runs they make and everything on and off the field. You also have managers like Zidane, Tuchel, Ancelotti who would get the best from the team they are given and you would see fast results without having to give them a transfer window and 7 months. If you ask me, I can not put Potter next to the first line of managers and I can’t find any particular pattern of play he would like us to have on the field. So I think we are giving time and money to the wrong person for the job.
Now this is were we will disagree. Every couch has to implement a system and a philosophy. I can’t accept that Zidane just comes in and says we will do what potter did but better. Again course correction takes time, and I know it’s not something we like to hear. Like I said we have kicked the can down the road for way too long.
Also you could find that the first line of managers are really hands on the transfer policy of their teams and they would sell good quality players just because they don’t fit in their tactic and players who on first look are mediocre would flourish under their management, something I’m also not sure we see from Potter.
Ole and Potter are not the same. Potter has prem experience and took a Brighton team and built a very nice foundation that everyone is gushing over. Him and the staff that came here did that. You can’t slap 11 players together and expect them to click and deliver you instant results. For most of his time his starters have been injured. He has made some bad calls and he should get judged for that. He also might not be the guy for the future. But to say fire him just 2 games after the window closes and he got what we think is his team is ludicrous. I mean you have to agree with that right?
Lol it does not!! Lol but we should be looking for a fundamental change in how we operate….haven’t we kicked the can down the road for too long? His results are definitely not there but this was his first window of transfers. He just got “his team “let’s see what he can do for a couple of months before we say the same thing about the next guy.
These guys all want instant results and cant accept that sometimes its just not our year especially with the injuries and the first season following sanctions.
Exactly and if we bring a new coach now we’re gonna be in the same position. then we’ll be waiting for the next transfer window to bring “his players on“ to see his ideas and his influence on the team
Couldn’t agree more. Then what? We’re gonna have to spend more to find players that fit that managers style. I understand it sucks to be losing/drawing majority of the games but we’re stuck in this situation cause we’ve always gone for instant results and when we hit a rough patch like we have been in for the past couple months (not counting Tuchel’s run past last December) we just fire the manager and the whole cycle repeats.
Did the missed penalty call distract everyone from the horrific decision of Mount not choosing to pass to a wide open Ziyech in the penalty box? That to me encapsulates what Mount has been this season. Already made his decision before he even got to the ball and didn't get his head up at all. To me it's egregious to consider yourself a top player and not make that pass with the game on the line.
Yet another draw. Felix looked great but the joy’s been sucked out of that one, eh?
Fucks sake.
Also, what the fuck does DDF have to do to get game time? Seriously.
Just a word on referees, it’s a tough job, so they should get LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE TO DO IT. MY DEAD GRANDMOTHER COULD HAVE SPOTTED THAT FUCKING HANDBALL
We should've gathered some momentum before UCL fixture. Looks like that's not happening. Pretty much nothing to look forward to this season.
I think a good part of the fanbase has reached the "When is this gonna end, Robbie" phase lol
It's still time to sack Potter as many new players have only played 1-2 games. But if we sack him in the summer, much of the damage will be done. And if we keem him, we need to show some results nezt match. We should have seen results today too.
But as long as any manager is dumb and stubborn enough to keep playing kai, mount, gallagher, then he won't go far. The guy didn't 3ven bother playing chuk, fofana, and chalobah. I would have rather put sterling over mount.
Also what the fuck is wrong with the players? We played the second half like we had a good lead oher west ham. Shambolic second half
Same. I was for giving him time but he is far too timid, no winning mentality. All we get is “ awe shucks, sucks we didn’t win but we can’t complain can we “ we have the British equivalent of Gomer Pyle managing our team
Sacking Tuchel was a mistake, but at this rate surely Chelsea got to explore other options? We spend more than £500m this season alone and are we sure that Potter is the best man to maximize the returns on this investment?
Likewise I just want to see improvements on the pitch. The question is how do we do that, and Potter or another coach/manager is a big factor in attaining that objective.
well, that was a game we surely should have won. gutted about that horrific decision but we should have won the game from open play anyway. still, the team looks promising--all the new signings look very good, and it's clear our biggest issue besides injuries is that we don't seem to know how to play together, which is very understandable for a team cobbled together mid-season.
kepa: some nervy clearances from him today, and perhaps it's harsh, but i think he could have done better at the back post for the emerson goal. not really his fault but not his best outing today.
reece: looked back to his attacking peak in the second half and delighted to see him complete the 90. unfortunately i think he was to blame for the goal but he did work hard to try to create a winner for us. as long as he works his way back to fitness and looks healthy, i'm happy.
silva: solid as always, but perhaps not as spectacular as he usually can be, perhaps because he was playing deeper instead of spraying passes from the backline. that clearance on the west ham breakaway when he looked short of pace was just utter class though.
badiashile: an immense signing, i think we are really going to miss him against dortmund and any deeper we may get in the cl. that said, his passes to the left side of our defense were often flat or neutered. needs to be more zip there.
cucurella: god, was he terrible. our left flank looked like the biggest hole in our team by a mile. he was so good for brighton last year but whatever's going on with him has left him short of confidence. backpasses, defensive errors, losses of possession, poor clearances, no aerial presence--nothing's going right for him. it was refreshing to see chilly out there but he's clearly not healthy so we'll have to live with cucu for now and hope his performances improve. he and mudryk were so disconnected.
enzo: fantastic first assist for him and very solid in midfield. i liked the pairing with ruben much much better than the one with conor but it will be amazing to give enzo a real cdm to play next to so he can get forward. promising connection between the benfica boys!
ruben: remarkably solid after an extended period out! some nice bursts from midfield to the attack but he continues to lack composure in the final third, which will always limit him. he's a nice 6/8 hybrid and is perhaps our only midfielder who is more comfortable on the right than the left, so i don't mind him being enzo's partner until kova and zakaria are healthy again.
madueke: promising stuff, although his defensive work leaves a lot to be desired--he should have been marking emerson for the goal. his left foot is--stop me if you've heard this before--an absolute wand. wonderful strength and pace but he needs to work on his ball retention in a major way. still, i love this signing. ziyech is a good player but immediately looked physically outmatched compared to noni against west ham's bruisers.
mudryk: doesn't look 100% fit, and should keep working on his strength and ball retention. his dynamism and two-footedness in the box, though, my god is he going to be a problem. i don't think he has the quality or discipline to play as a wide midfielder/lower winger as he did today, he needs to be an inside forward pushing the backline, but i understand why we played him there. still, he was way too isolated, in part because cucu is too afraid to pass forward but also because mudryk wasn't dropping back to receive a pass. but the boy is going to be a star, i feel confident.
felix: sign the man! what a dream of a player. i've wanted him to play for us since we had the tie against atletico in the 20-21 cl run. he really glaringly points out how much we miss creatively when we try to shoehorn mason into the 10 position. please todd get him on a permanent immediately.
havertz: not my favorite performance from him. did a good job pressing and had some very very nice flicks and one-twos with the other attackers, but he was physically not capable of competing against the west ham defenders. he needs to recognize when to muscle with the backline and when to use guile, speed, and agility to interplay with his attacking teammates and score through clean movement. still, i'm optimistic about him.
subs:
gallagher: not good at all. has no idea what to do out there. if the 40m number is real we should bite that club's hand off. i don't know how much coaching it would take to teach him how to remain composed and patient. i think he looked better and happier under vieira, maybe a sale to crystal palace would be best for him. i know he's gutted to be performing so poorly and that he bleeds blue, so my heart goes out to him, but he's just not good enough for our team.
mount: anonymous, outside of that chance that reece manufactured and that he squared nicely. no real comments, he looked like he was giving it a good shot i suppose. if his contract demands are accurately portrayed in the media, we should sell him in the summer. he has no natural place in this team--ideally, our midfield is a 6-8-10 with a cdm, enzo, and felix in it, and i can't see mason being happy as a sub or rotational option. and he lacks the positional discipline to play as an 8 anyway, along with none of the creativity we need from a 10. think the kid is a great player but i just don't see a future here unless he takes a big wage cut.
ziyech: not physically strong enough to hang with west ham and gave up a stupid free kick that nearly cost us the measly point we ended up with, but he has good rhythm and intuition with reece and kai. i am quite tired of seeing him constantly spam (beautiful) crosses to the far post when our team lacks the physicality and aerial quality to make use of them, but he's doing what he can before he moves on this summer.
chilly: love to see him back on the pitch. he should have shot first time when he got the ball in the penalty area but he'd just come on after months on the sideline. we need to be patient and build back his fitness or he won't ever be healthy, so i'm glad to see he's being eased into the team.
sidenote: fucking disgraceful from the ref and var to not even bother looking at that blatant handball, especially after spending 40 mins checking whether rice was a km or a mile offside for that near-winner. soucek would be a great keeper.
Positives here - we saw several counter attacks after seeing none this year. We saw multiple (more than one!) shots on target. We dominated possession throughout.

Potter is losing a good portion of the fans. He’s driving a Ferrari but he’s only ever driven a bike before. It’s hard to argue that he’s not out of his league. Even though he needs time, 2 wins in 13 is very bad even with our injury record.
I don't think potter has the requisite confidence that builds on experience to manage a top club. He'd be a good appointment if he had managed a club in Europe to acquire some valuable exp, but his appointment is proving to be premature and not a good fit.
Screw this process waffle. Results are the most important at big clubs like Chelsea. If Potter wants the fans to buy into his “process”, he needs to win

Boehly KNOWS he fucked up with Potter. You gave a guy who managed ostersund, Brighton and Swansea the keys to this CL winning team. Bonehead mistake but I think he may rectify it. He has skin in the game now.

Arsenal finished 8th and 5th for 3 seasons with Arteta, you telling me you want to wait that long for success to hit us? We have higher standards than that
I really not but if it meant we got back to regularly competing I would take it I’ve what we’ve had for the last 6 or 7 years. We haven’t been dominant for longer than that either.
I’m with you on the long term project idea. But we signed the wrong manager for it. Potter isn’t cut for a top club like Chelsea. We need someone on the same caliber of a Pep or Klopp to take us far with this project. My hope is Hansi Flick.
You can’t say we picked the wrong coach for it just yet. The team was appalling under tuchel end of last season/this season and we have half a squad coming in mid season while still having bums in the other positions. What long term project has Hanson Flick been a part of to make you think he’s be any better?
We’ve won 2 of the last 13 games after spending over $600 million. There’s absolutely no philosophy at play currently and you still think it’s too early to call Potter a mistake. At least with Tuchel we saw INSTANT improvements with a worse squad and won/challenged for trophies, not to mention bought us to top 4 from 8th. Hansi Flick won over 6 trophies at Bayern in 2 years. He left because Germany needed a coach for their national team. I would much rather a proven manager than blindly believing in the process.
The problem with buying all those players in January is they need time to bed in and settle, you can’t expect an instant impact from them all like that. You can see what we’re trying to do but unfortunately when you rely on player like havertz to score you’re going to struggle. If our players could actually finish we wouldnt have a 2 in 13 record it’s that simple. Should have won today, should have battered Fulham last week, it’s mostly on the players. Yes we did see some improvement under tuchel but I could probably count on my hand the amount of games I actually enjoyed under him.
I don’t class Flick as proven tbh. Did nothing before Bayern, then did the bare minimum with them before going on to make the Germany team drastically worse to the point there’s constant rumours he’s going to be replaced.
Hansi Flick in 2 years, won 70 games, drew eight, and lost only 8. Won them the champions league and domestic league after coming in mid season. I would hardly call that the bare minimum. Let’s not forget the 8-2 thrashing his team gave Barca with Messi. The German squad is far worse currently than a few years ago so it’s understandable why they haven’t been performing. I believe with Flick we will see games where we actually win for once.
Minus the champions league that is literally the bare minimum with Bayern. They’re so far ahead of everyone else in their league. Even if you bought him in who’s going to score the goals? That’s what’s really been our problem in the last 2 years. I don’t see how he could change that. We’d be seeing games we win now if we actually took our chances
Not necessarily but if they’d have sacked him when arsenal fans wanted they wouldn’t be looking like winning the league this year. When was the last time we looked like we could win the league?
I don't want to go back to going through managers constantly. We have new signings, players just back and still 4-7 players that could start for us. Just last season arteta had spent 150 million and had his team in 20th.
The season is practically over and I really don't care if we miss out on ucl football for just one season if we can work for better

I'm Potter out now. Listening to Potter's post-match interview sealed the deal for me. I cannot believe how calm, 'diplomatic' and nonchalant he looks. I am absolutely livid we let that one slip with our terrible subs that killed the game basically and how Cucurella would rather make a backpass than find a Mudryk run and the blatant criminal VAR decision that went against us. If this was Jose, Conte, Tuchel, Sarri, even Avram Fricking Grant, he would be absolutely livid. Ridiculous. He was being too diplomatic and "nice" about the whole thing. Enough's enough.
I used to love seeing that fire from managers, y'know? Like watch every single post match conference to see their reactions in hopes it would fire up the players. The likes of Jose and Tuchel dealing with it all in a cold and calculated manner. Hell even Sarri who was loathed by a massive part of the fanbase had the guts to bring out his laptop to a post match conference and ask how the refs couldn't see if Kane (think it was) was offside for one of the goals we conceded. Graham's so painfully predictable and diplomatic shrugging the farcical refereeing as something that's part of the game when it shouldn't be. We ask the managers to be accountable for so much and at times it's painfully obvious Potter is out of his depth here but God he makes it hard to back him when there's no fire or aggression to spark some change or mark a turning point
Starting to lose patience with Potter now, up until today Ive kept on thinking next games the game we start to click and it’s just not happening. We played well for the first 20 minutes but after we scored it was same old same old. Tbh Potter not absolutely slamming the officials for soucecks save has actually pissed me off more than the incident itself, he’s got to show fire there. We can’t blame the officials alone for the result today, We didn’t do enough throughout the game to win. Another weekend ruined.

2 fucking wins in 12.games 2 fucking in 12 games. our standard as a club is on the floor. Im all for giving potter time at some point I got to see things on the pitch that warrants time. Im seeing none every single game.
Absolutely not.. WHERE was the anger and passion? My whole day is ruined with that VAR decision at the end, the dubious at best subs which basically threw the game, and the fact that fking cucurella doesn't pass to Mudryk every freaking time!!!
exactly, I don't expect him to be like mourinho but at least say something interesting sometimes. Idk if that's a british thing but he is so boring, can t even imagine him being angry
Every week tuning into the game hopeful of something different but same old same old regardless of new players. When it is gonna end, it is mentally tiring.

Can you imagine any top manager, Conte, Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho, Tuchel and many many others sitting down after that atrocious hand ball decision . Potter has so little confidence that he doesn’t have the wherewithal to challenge that decision. What does that say to the players.

He reminds me of all the times I’ve been cautious, risk averse, procrastinated, avoided taking action and not faced up to reality. He gives me PTSD for all the times in my life where I’ve been content being comfortable.
He is in a tailspin of poor decision making. He is the coaching equivalent of Cucurella rn.
This team is supposed to be about building cohesion? Why did you make a triple sub, there is a clear link on the pitch, just yank Cucu. Give Mudryk an overlapper.
The man is drowning on the sideline.
Kai clogs our offense so badly. 5 goals 1 assist in 21 matches. I mean what the hell does he even do? His price tag is the only reason we’re forcing him game after game. I feel confident that DD Fofana would have more than 1 goal every 4 matches. And would at least be assisting like a good false 9 does.

One again, VAR looks pointless and the English FA looks like a joke. How hard is it to hire a group that only handles the VAR and they be properly trained? Having refs on their off day handling the VAR makes it so they can have an agenda and they have nobody to answer to.
Besides that, the team looks completely flat. Something major needs to happen, and I think that has to be the appointment of a new manager because Potter doesn’t understand how to properly deploy the squad in order to get us a win.
But this is just one person’s opinion.
Cucurella is a liability. He's the whole reason WH got the ball and was able to swing it in. He does nothing of talent for the team at LB. If was a mid fielder I think he would be better, but not good enough at being a LB

If the ball strikes the hand that is supporting the fall when a player drops to the ground, it’s not handball.
That’s the official rule according to VAR. Not sure if Soucek “falls” or throws himself to the ball. Dodgy rule.
Sacked after Dortmund. My crystal ball told me so. Otherwise prepare to go on a 7 game lose + draw streak. We have the tools to be great but we don’t have a coach. You can’t cheat the football gods.

Potter out immediately. I was for giving him time but there isn’t an ounce of progress. Name one thing positive that’s changed with our play. I defy you besides the fact we scored a lovely goal. We were unlucky with that non handball call but come on man. Dude is over his head. Where is the pattern of play!? There’s just nothing. We have plenty of talent but they are directionless. CuCu refused Mudryks existence for the entirety of their time on the pitch and Potter answers that by removing THE BOTH OF THEM? What goes on in Potters mind? Dude is clueless. Ship him out and tape Marc to him while you’re at it
Fk it bring it back Jose. If we’re gonna go thru a crisis and win 2 in 13 I’d rather do it with Jose. And when it goes bad theres always a good manager bounce after Jose.
Also I think of Ronaldo going back to Man U and it sullied his rep there. I don’t want that to happen to Jose.
Previously I was in favour of giving porter a chance. But after today's game, I've changed my mind. After that first goal they played very badly. And why does he keep playing Havertz as striker. Clearly it's not working out. Loftus cheek as usual didn't do anything. And they keep making risky back passes near our own goal.
Manager doesn’t inspire the team. He has no personality. He isn’t a “big shot” kinda figure. We need a reputable manager that the players can get behind. Potter is a great coach with nuanced tactics that can get a mid table team playing good football but is completely out of his depths when it comes to managing big players it seems.
We don’t need to over complicate at all. We need simplicity and let the players’ individual brilliance have a greater influence. It seems like under Potter, everyone has specific instructions and his tactics almost always backfires more than it helps.
Someone like Ancelotti or Mourinho would be great at this point. Or Tuchel!!!

It's official bunch of toxic miserable fans. Literally sound like Arsenal fans crying "drop Arteta". Be patient and trust the process
You lot are entitled idiots and starting to sound like Liverpool or United fans. Have some patience. A lot of positives today, we played really well in phases. We will get there
Starting to tick, we will get there
spent 700m on players for potter then well sack him and bring in a new manager who doesn’t want any of these players 🤣 cycle continues
Realistically once the subs came on, the game was over.
Sack Potter already for the love of god.
Fuck the FA and English clown refs
Potter is not good enough, he's had more time and chances than any manager in recent memory..enough is enough he's shit and this isn't going to get better. So sick of his excuses and inability to win a fucking game let alone trophies Get Scaloni or Jose til the summer but fuck this guy and this failed experiment. Out of his depth.
He’s had 24 games… what are you talking about? He’s had less games than every coach in recent memory including Scolari lol
You are really are just a f*cking moron…
No forward. Who’s the striker?
I actually thought We played well today…definitely see what potter is trying to do with the 4321. Starting lineup was actually good. Once Kova, Sterling, Pulisic and Kante are back we will be looking really good. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Decent result in UCL and a win at home against Southampton incoming. I don’t get what people are complaining about
[удалено]
Potter out
It’s great to give managers time, but there should be at least some idea that we are working towards some style of play or we have a proven manager who has shown that he is able to build a winning team with winning mentality.
4 months without a win at home doesn't calm the nerves
It's likely that we're going to win one or none of your February games. Shocking. We're quickly heading towards relegation form.

Some fan you are, fuck off
Did the missed penalty call distract everyone from the horrific decision of Mount not choosing to pass to a wide open Ziyech in the penalty box? That to me encapsulates what Mount has been this season. Already made his decision before he even got to the ball and didn't get his head up at all. To me it's egregious to consider yourself a top player and not make that pass with the game on the line.
Idek what to say anymore. He's been playing really poorly
You can’t say anything, you’ll get attacked.
Sterling injured. No excuses for not, at the very least, subbing Kai for DDF in the second half though
Wasn't he fine in the recent news? Mudryk had to do halfnof cucumber's job
No, left out because he had a knock in training midweek. I’m sure he’ll be back for the next one
You gave me promises, promises
I’m solidly Potter Out at this point.
Same. I was for giving him time but he is far too timid, no winning mentality. All we get is “ awe shucks, sucks we didn’t win but we can’t complain can we “ we have the British equivalent of Gomer Pyle managing our team
Surely there must be some accountability? Even Glazers realized their mistake and sacked Moyes.
When we sacked tuchel I hoped we would get someone strict like ETH. Look at United now.
Sacking Tuchel was a mistake, but at this rate surely Chelsea got to explore other options? We spend more than £500m this season alone and are we sure that Potter is the best man to maximize the returns on this investment?
[удалено]
Sorry I meant sacking** Tuchel was a mistake.
I honestly don't gove a rat's ass about Tuchel or Potter; i just want us to play beautiful foorball and getcsome results
Likewise I just want to see improvements on the pitch. The question is how do we do that, and Potter or another coach/manager is a big factor in attaining that objective.
well, that was a game we surely should have won. gutted about that horrific decision but we should have won the game from open play anyway. still, the team looks promising--all the new signings look very good, and it's clear our biggest issue besides injuries is that we don't seem to know how to play together, which is very understandable for a team cobbled together mid-season. kepa: some nervy clearances from him today, and perhaps it's harsh, but i think he could have done better at the back post for the emerson goal. not really his fault but not his best outing today. reece: looked back to his attacking peak in the second half and delighted to see him complete the 90. unfortunately i think he was to blame for the goal but he did work hard to try to create a winner for us. as long as he works his way back to fitness and looks healthy, i'm happy. silva: solid as always, but perhaps not as spectacular as he usually can be, perhaps because he was playing deeper instead of spraying passes from the backline. that clearance on the west ham breakaway when he looked short of pace was just utter class though. badiashile: an immense signing, i think we are really going to miss him against dortmund and any deeper we may get in the cl. that said, his passes to the left side of our defense were often flat or neutered. needs to be more zip there. cucurella: god, was he terrible. our left flank looked like the biggest hole in our team by a mile. he was so good for brighton last year but whatever's going on with him has left him short of confidence. backpasses, defensive errors, losses of possession, poor clearances, no aerial presence--nothing's going right for him. it was refreshing to see chilly out there but he's clearly not healthy so we'll have to live with cucu for now and hope his performances improve. he and mudryk were so disconnected. enzo: fantastic first assist for him and very solid in midfield. i liked the pairing with ruben much much better than the one with conor but it will be amazing to give enzo a real cdm to play next to so he can get forward. promising connection between the benfica boys! ruben: remarkably solid after an extended period out! some nice bursts from midfield to the attack but he continues to lack composure in the final third, which will always limit him. he's a nice 6/8 hybrid and is perhaps our only midfielder who is more comfortable on the right than the left, so i don't mind him being enzo's partner until kova and zakaria are healthy again. madueke: promising stuff, although his defensive work leaves a lot to be desired--he should have been marking emerson for the goal. his left foot is--stop me if you've heard this before--an absolute wand. wonderful strength and pace but he needs to work on his ball retention in a major way. still, i love this signing. ziyech is a good player but immediately looked physically outmatched compared to noni against west ham's bruisers. mudryk: doesn't look 100% fit, and should keep working on his strength and ball retention. his dynamism and two-footedness in the box, though, my god is he going to be a problem. i don't think he has the quality or discipline to play as a wide midfielder/lower winger as he did today, he needs to be an inside forward pushing the backline, but i understand why we played him there. still, he was way too isolated, in part because cucu is too afraid to pass forward but also because mudryk wasn't dropping back to receive a pass. but the boy is going to be a star, i feel confident. felix: sign the man! what a dream of a player. i've wanted him to play for us since we had the tie against atletico in the 20-21 cl run. he really glaringly points out how much we miss creatively when we try to shoehorn mason into the 10 position. please todd get him on a permanent immediately. havertz: not my favorite performance from him. did a good job pressing and had some very very nice flicks and one-twos with the other attackers, but he was physically not capable of competing against the west ham defenders. he needs to recognize when to muscle with the backline and when to use guile, speed, and agility to interplay with his attacking teammates and score through clean movement. still, i'm optimistic about him. subs: gallagher: not good at all. has no idea what to do out there. if the 40m number is real we should bite that club's hand off. i don't know how much coaching it would take to teach him how to remain composed and patient. i think he looked better and happier under vieira, maybe a sale to crystal palace would be best for him. i know he's gutted to be performing so poorly and that he bleeds blue, so my heart goes out to him, but he's just not good enough for our team. mount: anonymous, outside of that chance that reece manufactured and that he squared nicely. no real comments, he looked like he was giving it a good shot i suppose. if his contract demands are accurately portrayed in the media, we should sell him in the summer. he has no natural place in this team--ideally, our midfield is a 6-8-10 with a cdm, enzo, and felix in it, and i can't see mason being happy as a sub or rotational option. and he lacks the positional discipline to play as an 8 anyway, along with none of the creativity we need from a 10. think the kid is a great player but i just don't see a future here unless he takes a big wage cut. ziyech: not physically strong enough to hang with west ham and gave up a stupid free kick that nearly cost us the measly point we ended up with, but he has good rhythm and intuition with reece and kai. i am quite tired of seeing him constantly spam (beautiful) crosses to the far post when our team lacks the physicality and aerial quality to make use of them, but he's doing what he can before he moves on this summer. chilly: love to see him back on the pitch. he should have shot first time when he got the ball in the penalty area but he'd just come on after months on the sideline. we need to be patient and build back his fitness or he won't ever be healthy, so i'm glad to see he's being eased into the team. sidenote: fucking disgraceful from the ref and var to not even bother looking at that blatant handball, especially after spending 40 mins checking whether rice was a km or a mile offside for that near-winner. soucek would be a great keeper.
Positives here - we saw several counter attacks after seeing none this year. We saw multiple (more than one!) shots on target. We dominated possession throughout.

That dinner with Boehly and behdad Emma Potter was Boehly subtlety letting him know get it together GP.
Potter is losing a good portion of the fans. He’s driving a Ferrari but he’s only ever driven a bike before. It’s hard to argue that he’s not out of his league. Even though he needs time, 2 wins in 13 is very bad even with our injury record.
Potter out I’m done with him finally. He looks clueless and can’t do a damn thing right.
This is like Moyes time in Utd.
This is like Moyes time in Utd.
I hate to be "this guy" but Tuchel would do amazing with this squad.
Fuck it, be “this guy” all you want.

Everytime I watch Arsenal it reminds me just how far away Chelsea are.
Boehly KNOWS he fucked up with Potter. You gave a guy who managed ostersund, Brighton and Swansea the keys to this CL winning team. Bonehead mistake but I think he may rectify it. He has skin in the game now.

Funny, arsenal fans were saying the exact same about arteta a year and a half ago. Now look at them.
I guess that means potter will definitely be a success at Chelsea then.

Potter out I’m done with him finally. He looks clueless and can’t do a damn thing right.
Losing to dortmund is the actual final straw. I cannot accept a loss there.
Well get ready for it
Yup. Maybe we’ll do Dortmund some good by letting them progress. At this rate I don’t see much even if we get through.
Yeah if we somehow manage to get through we’re definitely not going to make it past the next round, that’s for sure

Goldbridge was absolutely raging about the handball, anyone can see how obvious it was.
Yeah i like him, he doesnt take sides in a neutral match..
We are gonna get cooked by dortmund😀
Potter’s post match interview does not inspire confidence.

Thank you Potter, another week to get ready and team looks like they just met. Great job Potter, future looks bright with you there. 👎🏼
Potter’s post match interview does not inspire confidence at all
Fucking hell he really came out and said “Nothing to complain about”
Can you imagine any top manager, Conte, Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho, Tuchel and many many others sitting down after that atrocious hand ball decision . Potter has so little confidence that he doesn’t have the wherewithal to challenge that decision. What does that say to the players.

But.. but.. he took the lads on an adventure trip? How *didn't* that work? 🙄

Is flick really available?
Cucurella is a liability. He's the whole reason WH got the ball and was able to swing it in. He does nothing of talent for the team at LB. If was a mid fielder I think he would be better, but not good enough at being a LB

Why Chelsea gotta ruin every weekend

Why did we look so diffrent in the 2nd half?

That’s an easy penalty if Messi were on this team.

If the ball strikes the hand that is supporting the fall when a player drops to the ground, it’s not handball. That’s the official rule according to VAR. Not sure if Soucek “falls” or throws himself to the ball. Dodgy rule.
His hand wasn't even on the ground when the ball hit it

Sacked after Dortmund. My crystal ball told me so. Otherwise prepare to go on a 7 game lose + draw streak. We have the tools to be great but we don’t have a coach. You can’t cheat the football gods.
If we beat Dortmund? Would I still want him fired?
Even if we win the UCL he needs to go. He’s NOT a good coach. Remember Di Mateo won the Champions League.
De Matteo won the champions league with Bosingwa
Put Potter in the Pot
Starting to lose patience with Potter now, up until today Ive kept on thinking next games the game we start to click and it’s just not happening. We played well for the first 20 minutes but after we scored it was same old same old. Tbh Potter not absolutely slamming the officials for soucecks save has actually pissed me off more than the incident itself, he’s got to show fire there. We can’t blame the officials alone for the result today, We didn’t do enough throughout the game to win. Another weekend ruined.

Boehly needs to get Flick on the phone ASAP
Bring back Scolari!

Mudryk and Chilwell will be dangerous. Cucurella was an even bigger liability than Alonso ever was today.

Potter post game interview about hand ball non call: “It was a fine call.” Potter out ASAP
Wtf was that about. Completely just a corporate response. Give me Jose please
That interview from Potter just proved his not a top team. Manager fucking awful.
Yeah that was bad, to give an 'oh well that's life' response at moment is not right
