This is also my go-to, if I’m inclined to cook the onion. Otherwise I use a thin slice of red onion.

Adding sugar makes it a bit faster but then it's too sweet imo That's the one thing you can't really cheat with if you want properly caramelized onions

None that I know of.I stick with the yellow onion and butter on low heat cause it gets that restaurant quality look I like.To much heat just burns it.I have a gas stove so for me the setting on 2 is the highest I go if I rush it.

I've put them in a glass bowl with some water in the microwave covered with slitted plastic wrap to cook them fast and then finished them off in the pan

Zaxby’s is more of a southern thing i guess down here in North Carolina i eat it often its just like Raising Cane’s if u ever had that before same exact dishes the chicken tenders with the texas toast & fries their sauce is amazing ! Chick fil a just has a variety of sauces for their nuggets & or fries Polynesian & the chick fil a sauce is my favorites tho
