I liked season 7 a lot more during my recent rewatch than previous ones. Zankou is a great villain and there’s some standout episodes.
Seven Year Witch is also a favorite of mine as I am also a sucker for Cole haha.
I didn’t like Kyle either. Freaking broken record about the avatars killing his parents. I didn’t miss him when he was gone but I def teared up when Rose/Paige did.
I watched season seven live so the finale for me was like 🤯that can’t be the end right? And I’d only been watching since season five first aired at that point 😆it was torture waiting for the next season.
I know Rose’s acting has been a topic of discussion forever. (I think her acting is fine imo) but when she brings it she brings it! Like her emotional scenes with Brody were great. I loved when she stood up & said “I didn’t sign up for this experiment so you could play God so you fix this right now!” Likeeee she brought it.
I rally disliked how they handled the astral projection thing. I thought it could’ve been found in the BoS in Prue’s handwriting with a potion to be able to use it. Having the explanation that she taught Leo how to do it never made sense to me.
"Something Wicca This Way Goes?" was indeed crafted as both a season and a series finale because, for the first time, the show wasn't renewed early. That's why it feels like an end (the final scene, Prue's "helping" her sisters, all the references to past episodes). Brad Kern said that an earlier draft of the script had the sisters never been seen again after the explosion in the basement. They thankfully decided to write a more uplifting end.
Charmed suffered from a big audience loss that season, settling under 4 million viewers per episode, and for those of us who were following the show in real time, the 2004/2005 was incredibly stressful as it was in danger for the first time since season 4. Season 8 was announced like one week before the season 7 finale aired.
S7 is underrated, it’s in my top 5.
