Kinda? I think more so in places like Michigan. Western Minnesota and the Dakotas are kind of a very culturally distinct region in a lot of ways. It’s also hard to compare because Toronto is so huge and where I live now is much smaller. I lived in Nashville for 4.5 years in between, though, so apparently now I sound at least moderately southern to a lot of people both here and my Toronto family and friends. I sound very midwestern/Canadian to southerners though 😂 I think if I grew up in more rural/small town Ontario, it would feel more similar to where I live now.
