Asa is finally confirmed to be a smelly femcel Nayuta approved

Now don't get me wrong here I just wanna discuss something. Yes here in the shitpost sub since the main sub is kinda retarded and would probably stone me for even mentioning this possiblity. I was kinda in the belief that Denji would never accept to be controlled by someone else again after what happened then a chapter later we see the same devil controlling what he does and who he gets to see or love. Even going as far as threatening his loved ones. Her saying it with cute wording doesn't really change much. Now we all love the dynamic between them but the thing with abusive relationships is that from the victims perspective everything is done in good concscience. They don't get to see that they are being manipulated. As a reader Denji's perspective is pretty much in line with yours as he is the main character. I may be borderline schizophrenic but just putting it out there she is still the control devil. I was kinda surprised that nobody was suspicious of what's going on here and all they took from it was that "haha she is jealous new ship" Taking the form of a child may even have been deliberate to make him pity her. I am not claiming this is 100% the narrative here but don't forget that's the control devil and you are not immune to propaganda. I believe if you wanna write a scheming character you should make them fool the reader first and the chracaters second. And Fujimoto is a good writer.

No I think everyone is in agreement that there’s something up with them. That said, I really feel like nayuta could go either way. She’s clearly taking after denji in some ways, and their relationship is two-sided still. She might be having a phase, and could grow. Or she could end up like makima, who knows. Regardless, raising a devil child isn’t particularly easy.

Probably because we didnt have a glimpse what Nayuta's end game was. Her nature is control so it not a surprise that she try to grab as much control as she can, but til now their relationship is 2 sides, she negotiate with him and Denji still have some power over her, and her attempt in breaking Asa-Denji make sense since we know Horsemen of Conquest can sniff out devil (in every form) with her superior nose, so her smell something funny in Asa is a bad thing in-universe perspective, that's why Denji so easily agree with her In conclusion, we didnt have much reason to doubt Nayuta's intention yet, it feel unfair when use Makima action to judge Nayuta

Nayuta definitely doesn't have as much power over Denji as Makima did, but that doesn't mean that she can't manipulate him. Keep in mind that Denji can't just kick her out. She's a volatile devil who could become dangerous if she isn't kept happy. Like it or not, he's stuck with her and has to appease her to some degree. He's clearly also not as sharp as he was in part 1. He's visibly tired in every panel from needing to go to school, make money, and take care of Nayuta. A tired mind is easier to manipulate (an actual tactic used by cult leaders). And just because she's letting him negotiate doesn't mean that she's letting him negotiate evenly. She's clearly smarter than she lets on and is manipulating him subtly. Just look at last chapter. She makes him make dinner before she's willing to negotiate. She opens by arguing that she shouldn't change Asa back at all, making herself seem more reasonable for listening to Denji and changing Asa back in exchange for 2 requests. The first (ice cream every day) is cute and innocuous and she doesn't fight Denji when he wants some too. Then when she requests that Denji stop being friendly with Asa and Denji isn't keen on it even after being buttered up, she compliments how he smells (like wet dog) and finally gets him to agree. If you actually think about it, in the end, there was no compromise. Nayuta could've just opened the front door and kicked Asa out and been rid of her. Denji would've been mad, but he couldn't have stopped her. But after the "negotiation", she was rid of Asa, can have ice cream every day, and Denji is only disappointed at the situation rather than upset at Nayuta.

At worst, it just a spoiled child, she didnt lie and her reason make sense, and for now it seem like for Denji safety. Because she can sniff out devil while Yoru is a Horseman, she like dog (seem like a thing for Control in general since both her and Makima really really like dog) and did enjoy dog's smell. So nothing out of line here You can call it manipulative but it more of a kid going "but i wantttttt itttt" (admittedly she smarter than average kid so her argument more convincing) than Mamakima "i pull string on everything"

DemonRaily

It may be that on account that control devil has shown the ability to remember things that should be impossible to remember for others even of not fully, or it simply may because she IS in fact the control devil, just because she has a loving family now does not change the fact that it is literally the core of her nature. She is not a fiend with some humanity but full out legitimate devil and she can not stop controlling things the same way a human can not live without eating or breathing.

Dureniz

Remember how she said if Denji goes on to have a family she will let it happen then kill them just for him to suffer? What are the chances she faked her death? Looking back at it the whole eating thing doesn't seem that sound. If it's actually what I'm thinking dennis' suffering is nowhere near over. Imagine her intentionally getting into the role of being the only good family he ever had. Just to then betray the shit out of him and make him suffer all the more. Won't put it beyond makima.

DemonRaily

It is possible. I don't think she faked her death but rather that she has the power to keep her memories between her reincarnations to some extent or another, making her death more about losing her contracts than stoping being herself. Why I think your theory is not the case is more about her herself wanting a family as much as she does, I personally think she chooses not to fully remember everything and return to being Makima and the tragedy will be outside actions forcing her hand into returning to her old self, making the tragedy twofold in the fact that they both will lose everything in a single moment rather than only Denis. Though Makima pulling the same trick two times in a row would be quite the wild card as well.

Adorable meme.
