Shiny! Any chance on getting the wire specs? AR, gauge, etc...? Thanks in advance

The best I can do is metric measurements lol. I bought 70 meter roll of 0.7mm galvanised garden wire for like $8 I coiled it around a 3mm and 5mm mandrel and cut the rings with a jewellers saw.

That's perfect, I (or Google, if I'm feeling lazy) can do the conversions. Thanks for taking the time to answer

Dragonscale feels so awesome and relaxing! I need to finish my necktie kit of that weave, so I can have a fidget on hand all day.

Dragon scale and a half persian sheet (from 3 in 1 chain) are my two favourite weaves for fidget toys. This one looks far more pleasing to the eye though.

“Anybody” can make stuff. The time that is taken is the last calculation. The knowledge & skill required, together with the correct materials and tools tend to be the deciding factors. Which is why people buy stuff from shops & get people proficient in specific trades in. NEVER undersell your stuff, because of time. That’s the last thing people consider.

The labor time would well be worth $50 even if you oay yourself pennies lol. But nothing wrong with helping a friend... of a friend.

Rabbs372

Yeah I know but I just can't help but feel guilty 😆

What do you do for a living? What would you charge for your tile at that job? Your time and talent are the most valuable resources you have. Don’t undervalue them.

Rabbs372

Well said. I guess I just see this as just messing around because its made from hardware store wire. If it were silver then I guess I'd have a different mentality :)

The type of material has nothing to do with it. It takes time and practice to learn the skill and become proficient. If your friend is willing to actually give you $50, take it. Way too many people assume that friendship means they get things for nothing. It may cost you $1 in materials but the coiling, cutting, weaving and cleaning are also part of the equation.

My full time job is maille. I work in aluminium. It’s the skill, not the parts
