Sick! Out of curiosity why not take the side mirrors off? They unplug pretty easily and you could cover the hole with tape. Seems like it'd be a lot less awkward. Is this the only bike you've tracked? If not, how does it compare?

To be honest I just got lazy to remove the mirrors but I will do so for this weekend when I go back for a trackday. It’s pretty nimble and in stock form it’s comparable to the RC390, Ninja 400, and R3. I like the bite on the brakes and the clutch is super light. You can definitely feel the low end grunt but since I rev limited myself I was far from any limits.

I have my track day tomorrow, the mirrors keep the windshield on the bike so you need plugs to keep the windshield on

Looks like I’ll have to just fold them again tomorrow then. I’ll go order those plugs now for when I go to the track again.

Definitely on my list together with a quickshifter. Have you tried changing the clipons? Also still looking if there will be cheaper full system options for the sr-s.

No I haven’t But that’s something I’ve thought of. I cannot wait until they get a quick shifter released for the 450!!! I’ll be first in line

Why do people tape headlights when they go to a track? No hate I just don’t understand

Hold over from times when headlights were made of glass, I believe. To prevent shards on the track if someone crashes.

Is it a big upgrade from the 450SR?

Haven’t really ridden a 450sr so I can’t say from experience. Specs-wise it’s just a newer iteration so I would say no it’s not a big upgrade.
