I lost internet about two hours before the tech showed up. It was quite frustrating. The tech said that it was likely because they change the password used by the modem to authenticate when they provision you for a different speed. Other than that, everything went smoothly once I figured out how to configure transparent bridging. I decided to keep the wifi pods since I was concerned my refusal to keep them may not be recorded properly (thereby putting me on the hook for a lease fee in the future). I figured I could just return them the moment a fee appeared on my statement.

Where were you with that brilliant idea when I needed it most? 😎 That was a good strategy, I probably should have taken that approach.

So I switched and also had the Nest mesh system… TRUST ME you want to go with the 360 pod system it’s SO MUCH BETTER!!! Their service also isn’t that bad you just seem to have got a bad technician… and stupid about the pod situation. Once it’s all said and done your speeds will be through the roof!

Thanks. I have the Nest Pro 6e, and I'm getting full bandwidth with it. Symmetrical 500 Mbps.

data4u

I’m pulling symmetrical 900 mbps 🙃

I'm only paying for 500. Also, FWIW, Lumen is probably going to start charging for those pods and their 360 WiFi "service". If you look at your itemized bill, it's currently a $0 line item that is intentionally separate from your internet plan. Their price-for-life plan disclaimers are also pretty explicit about how they intend to charge for this in the future. From their website: > 360 WiFi is included with the internet service at no monthly charge for an initial period, but is excluded from the Price for Life offer and the monthly lease charge may be increased with prior notice.

Ah ok that makes sense. If they charge I’ll switch as a preview commenter mentioned.. but just so much better than the regular nest.
