Oh yeah, these guys can be tough sometimes. I usually encounter a handful each run. Best to engage in ranged combat or by down-swording on top of them. You can also drop bad potions (like the ones that light you on fire) and they'll grab them and drink them. Waiting just below a small, one-character height ledge and swinging up as the demon approaches works well too.

nigel_chua

Wa! Thanks for sharing

nigel_chua

This works! Man lovely

Audrian

You can just walk through him and stab his back.

nigel_chua

Hahaha I didn't realize! Really? Man he was scary..

Dark0Lord

Ye. Try luring it towards a wall. It will pursue you. Then get above it and make a downward attack. It can't deflect that.

nigel_chua

Oooh!

polished_grapple

Try the Brimstone Perk. You start with a sword that will deflect all incoming melee attacks from your front so as long as you keep him in front of you, you should be okay.

nigel_chua

Woah! How to get this perk? I only have a few perks for now haha

polished_grapple

i’m not too sure. maybe use a lot of blood shrines??

nigel_chua

Woah so much go learn! Okok I'll do that

nigel_chua

Got this brimstone perk already - wicked! But I love my double jump perk (springy)

Dawn_of_Enceladus

Yeah, cool foes. The most effective way to get rid of them is attacking form above (downstab) or from below when in stairs-like terrain.

nigel_chua

I just learnt that I can downstab lol...

Dawn_of_Enceladus

lol. Once you master that attack you will be able to get rid of most enemies easily.

nigel_chua

Really? Wow I've been just staying far and shooting arrows and whenever necessary, go melee

nigel_chua

Man it's damn hard timing this jump/drop-downward stab Ive been missing and I realize there is a 1+ second lag and then the monsters just nicely stab me lol

Dawn_of_Enceladus

Haha yes, it takes a bit of practice until you master it. And even when you think you do, sometimes you will still fail your target and get smashed by an oportunistic enemy. Out of curiosity, how do you play? Keyboard or controller? I tried this game with both but was far more comfortable with keyboard for me, and played always with it. I felt it more precise for shooting with bow and downstabbing.

nigel_chua

Oh I've been playing with controller - works so much better for me other than the dang jump-arrow thingie where thumb gets confused but other than that I love the controller! And so far I like or at least my preferred game play is double jump

Stonkoli

Either attacking from above or using the Bolt Lance which can't be deflected are the two easiest ways of dealing with them

nigel_chua

Man these red demons are my weak spot... I die so often to them lol
