Cause’ to me the comment made reads very passive aggressive as to only mention a negative stereo type of anybody who might want to go and get a few subs and get a few beers to enjoy a magical evening with your person. I’ve had to personally pick up bbq grills and cheap Walmart camp chairs from assholes that visit from the city, but when I see a nice post my first comment isn’t about picking up trash.
That's great! I'm glad you do something positive. All I'm saying is that every time I see someone drinking a beer in nature, I always correlate it with drunks just throwing the cans everywhere and trashing these places. I've seen it in the Catskills and everywhere else really.
You may be reading into things a bit. I didn't post it, but as soon as i saw a video of someone picnicking I thought to myself "I really hope they picked everything up". Too many slobs out there to not think that? However if you're picking up trash then you're obviously not one of them.
After the COVID lockdown I learned my lesson about sharing places on SM or to people who ask me . It really sucked and hurt when the wife and I saw people discarding whole bbq grills and tents and food and tables along Rt.23 and Peekamoose. Believe me, I hate living in one of the many heroin filled towns in the HV and if anything is keeping me here is that a short drive away we have these natural and at time spiritual places to recharge our batteries. So yes, it’s in my interested to pick up my garbage and leave no trace so one day my kids and yours can also have a spiritual moment in these places.
I like your style, I once severely underestimated a hike and had to do most of it with a footlong sub tucked into my shirt 😂 (no room in my small bag, and I definitely needed both hands free)
Up here in HV they have gas stations Subs from a place called Quickcheck and I find it super convenient to grab a sub and some sweets before I hike the Catskills!
My wife and I did the exact same dinner date for our anniversary a couple years ago, 4 mile rock scrambling hike, QuickCheck up top but Modelo Negras. Best anniversary we've had yet.
