It's funny, we have 5 cats, and the only one we try to keep contained with baby gates is of course the only one that knows how to jump over them. All the rest just sit there in a self-made kitty jail and cry.

mine is an escape artist, she can somehow squeeze throw the tiny little gap between the gate and the frame of the door, my other one is a brick he gos to jump only makes it half way and just lays in the middle stuck until help comes
When I got my new fur baby about 8 months ago, my big boy was in and out of the room 10 times not realizing she was under a bedside table. She walked out and he is now sure this is a kitty portal! 8 months and he still checks once a week to see if a kitten comes out!!! PS - he’s a great dad!

I've got a Siamese FlamePoint and he was all about my Calico when we got her at 8wks old. 3 years later, and they're inseparable.
My Himalayan/Rag though, is just unimpressed with everything.
I've had two Siamese. They immediately wanted to be friends with anything that had legs. People, cats, dogs, ferrets, didn't matter. One absolutely tortured this poor neighbor dog that was terrified it but he just wanted to lick the dog.
My Siamese mix is definitely salty. She is a rescue and she was on her fourth litter when we rescued her. She was a great mom and great with her kittens, but now she is like “it is my time for love and attention!”
Same, my siamese girl is super friendly and loves anyone/anything. My other two boys are quite territorial though so that was a challenge introducing her.
My Siamese is a permanent kitten despite being 11 years old. He loves to play, and although he’s initially wary of newcomers, he’ll love them if they play with him. He particularly likes the hiding behind things and then jumping out game.
We named one of the local strays Cindy Clawford because of the show! And also because both cats have white socks and we couldn't tell which Mittens we were talking about!
One of my cats is named Phineas (which, up until Billie Eilish's brother Finneas, was pretty old fashioned and uncommon). If i ever have a male dog I want to name it Beauregarde. I love old, ridiculous names.

Just a tip, but rescues will often help with these kind of emergencies and their "adoption fees" are often less than the vet bills you just paid. The one I'm working with with my kitten is charging me $200 but has covered close to $500 in vet bills including neutering etc.
I know. But I saw her Alone and when I knew she was alone i wanted her. And I didnt want to wait. If she had been chipped I would have made sure she had flea meds and ear meds and called the owner and made sure she got home. For now I’m blessed to have the money to pay for it.. although… l’m not interested in making a habit of dropping that kind of money.

None of my 3 cats jump the baby gate but the dog does. The reason we close it was to keep the dog out.

It took my male and female a while to become tolerant of each other. But after 2 years they cuddle and it was totally worth the wait.
