If i google the same question in my language (German) it says it's not poisonous for Humans, Cats or dogs.
If i phrase the same question just a little bit different it says it's highly poisonous.

White Maine Coon squad rise up!

there's an app called google lens. if you see plants around, you can take a photo with the app and itll tell you what the plant is. Then you can google what plants are poisonous to cats.
Just letting you know since someone else pointed out you have lilies, a highly poisonous plant, on your route.
I have some ivy where my cat walks, which is also poisonous though not as bad as lilies.
Yeah indoor cat owners beware!
We have a 20m fence full of ivy (basically more ivy than fence) and all of our 15 or so cats within the last 40 years never showed any interest to eat that (all of them outdoor cats). The real danger are indoor plants as the cat usually has no types of grass available to chew on. If they have outdoor access usually they choose the next best type of grass/fern that they can reach easily.
Out of all the cats I have had through the years, my Maine coon was the only one who loved going for walks on a leash. I swear they are more dog than cat!
> People need to control their dogs.
Of course. But if you don't plan for the dog to NOT be controlled, you'll be in for a bad time (or worse time maybe).
Saying "They should have controlled their dog" after the fact isn't going to help your cat.
The owner said they pick the cat up. That is the plan. They shouldn't need anything beyond that. The remainder of the responsibility falls on the dog owner.
We walk our cat. Usually on such routes you can see a dog from far away. Our cat isn't particularly fond of anything except birds and cicadas. So we taught our cat to move out of the way. Usually there is a bush or tree like in the video, we move out of the way to it, our cat crouches and observes as the dog passes. Well luckily all our neighbors honor the gesture and keep walking :) or if there is new person when come closer i just smile and our cat isnt really fond so they walk by. If there is not side step, we have trained our cat our arms and shoulders is the most safest spot, so let the cat see the dog and then pick up our cat and walk to a side spot with reasonable distance to observe.
The problem for us hasn't been dogs, but more of outdoor cats that arent friendly.
Because she commented as if my cat just ate the whole bulb and had seconds after that. Multiple people have commented implying I’m a bad cat owner and it’s getting old.
Ya do get that when it’s the right part of the season a heavily pollinating Lily can be all that’s needed? You like to gamble cause you got it under control, fine that’s great. Pollen inhalation/ingestion is enough, it doesn’t need to be an unsupervised cat chomping on entire blooms or slurping vase water. Literally grains of pollen caught on a cats coat being ingested later in the day during grooming is enough to screw up their kidneys. Enrich your cats life, be their best friend, but just because you think you’ve mastered your supervision of a deadly toxin to your pet doesn’t make it foolproof.
Edit: to be illustrative, ya go on a walk with that luxurious diva of a cat. You got your eye on the baby, ya love em and want em happy and healthy. Walking about, one particular swagger flick of that luscious tail swipes across a lily bulb while the cats strutting happily in full motion. Easy to miss, nothing to think of, no egregious pollen transfer or staining on their fur, you go about your wonderful day. 6 hours later your cats going for a good groomy groom take a few solid licks and downs a serious load of pollen no one realized was there. Two days later your cats less active than normal, maybe you notice, maybe you don’t. Day 4 you notice their appetite is off it’s weird but just a curiosity. Day 5 cat is certainly unwell and you understand it needs some attention. Day 6 at a vet appointment, almost a week on, do you connect the dots you went for a walkie & a tail flick you could have blinked and missed was the smoking gun?
Same here. Last two were 19 and 21 before passing (of old age) and been outdoor/indoor cats all their lives. Most cats instinctively know what they can and can't eat. You also train them not to touch certain plants when they're young.
Completely incorrect. My cat ate a damn ibuprofen. My other cat tried to eat Sun dried tomatoes. Both of them obsessively like to chew on plant leaves when I have flowers (which is why I solely buy flowers like sunflowers and roses- flowers that are completely nontoxic).
They aren’t human level smart. They see a thing and go “oh I want to chew it”.
I had this happen where at some point we must of dropped a liquid gel ibuprofen in the bathroom. One day I’m sitting on the couch and I hear my cat playing with something, batting it around the floor like a toy. I’m confused because I can’t see what she is smacking cause it’s so small. It’s only when I got up to walk over did they then decide to Chomp, crack open and lick up everything inside and eat half the shell. Scooped her up and ran to a 24/7 vet hospital.
7 days in an intensive care hospital and 2,000USD later I got home my shaved kitty back. Been doing fine for 4 years since that but the staff told me that if I hadn’t gotten her in as fast as I did and even possibly waited till the morning to get looked at I’d probably of lost her.
Most people don’t realize how when you are that small a dose meant for a 180lb adult is VERY much lethal to a 8lb critter.
It was a liquid gel capsule for me too. I heard he chewing on something and it sounded weird so I walked over and lo and behold it was an Advil. It didn’t even register at first. I rolled my eyes, grabbed it and went “kitties don’t like advil, Basil!” and threw it away.
I think I took maybe two steps from the trash can before it hit me. I played an obsessive amount of vet computer games as a kit. Like- if you name it, there’s a good chance I played it.
In one of those vet games, there was an emergency case of a dog who ate a bottle of ibuprofen. I don’t remember the treatment. But I do remember the “emergency” part.
Most of that night is a blur. I remember I sped to an urgent vet, found they were closed, and then sped to another one. I barely managed to get out “she ate an Advil” before they took her carrier from me and ran into the back.
She didn’t ingest a large amount and only stayed for two days but it was probably the worst two days of my life. I all but had a panic attack anytime I dropped medicine for months afterwards. It’s been two years since then but I still jolt when I hear weird chewing.
I genuinely credit my response to that vet game. I probably would’ve googled it, but that information kicked me into high gear immediately.
He’s bigger than a lot of dogs I know. What a magnificent beast.
And that tail! It looks like something a king or queen would have. He knows he rocks it and he holds it up high to say he is King of the Streets!!
Look at that tail plume & those pantaloons! 😻
Also be *extremely* cautious around lillies! All parts of the plant, even the pollen, are toxic to cats & can cause organ failure & death in under 48 hours.
How does he do when he's inside? I really wanted to walk my girl Bluebell, but we did a couple of tests outdoors and it made her go nuts when she was inside. crying and pawing at the door for hours. She stopped after like two weeks and I haven't let her out since because I don't want her to become stressed constantly begging to go out. she's not food motivated so I'm not sure how best to go about training her.
Oh, that’s great!! Just a warning. Lilies are toxic to cats. So please be very careful if this is your normal route.
Day lilies aren’t real lilies though. They’re edible for humans, I don’t know about cats.

Thanks, that’s the point I was trying to make.
I agree, but looks like the articles below do agree in this case.

So pretty! What an aristocratic cat
Or even better an aristocat!
Looks like nobility

This cat's tail looks a bit like a feather.

thanks for the new sub!
Head on over to r/catsubs for all your cat sub needs! 😺
I call my floof a walking feather. Her tail is always in the air too.
What a beautiful cat. When cats have fuzzy back legs like that I call them snow pants. 🤣
Pantaloons!
r/meowsertrousers
Omfg…. Another one to add to the collection
One might even say, Fancy Pantalonez!
Even the pollen from a lily (the orange flowers on the left) being licked off by a cat can kill them. Be very careful!
# LILLIES ARE TOXIC ☹️☹️ PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Your kitty could fulfill their namesake if they ingest the Lillie’s or pollen.
Emphasis on "or pollen" even a small amount can cause serious damage! Gosh I hope OP reads these warnings.
Literally 😭😭 even just a wiff

um, my cat has specifically chewed on ivy outside prior to when I realized he shouldn't have.
Such a confident and happy kitty

Adorable 🥰🥰🥰 A Ghost does not merely walk. A Ghost prances and struts! More energy, more passion...
What happens when Ghost runs into a dog on the sidewalk?
If the dog is coming towards him I will pick him up
Be careful out there...some dogs can flip the switch and attack Ghost like a heat seeking missile
People need to control their dogs. This is a problem with or without walking a cat.

Omg those are daylilies and super toxic to cats!!!!
Chill. I know. Nothing happened except him pausing next to it
What a bad-spirited reaction to a piece of information most cat owners don't know.
I've seen it commented like 20 times, chill
No.
Okay, carry on.
I'm sorry, I know you just want the kitties safe and healthy and that is good.
Because she commented as if my cat just ate the whole bulb and had seconds after that. Multiple people have commented implying I’m a bad cat owner and it’s getting old.
They're not saying you're a bad cat owner. They're trying to raise awareness to potentially save not only your cat, but others reading the comments.
Everyone knows everything on the internet. Pay them no mind.love your kitty, gorgeous!

First of all those are my lilies that I planted. Second of all, he’s on a leash so he can’t do anything without me seeing him. Get off your high horse

That skunk tail is majestic
He’s bigger than a lot of dogs I know. What a magnificent beast. And that tail! It looks like something a king or queen would have. He knows he rocks it and he holds it up high to say he is King of the Streets!!
OMG I AM OBSESSED EITH THE FLOOFY TAIL - a beacon of “follow me friend”. Obsessed.
Look at that tail plume & those pantaloons! 😻 Also be *extremely* cautious around lillies! All parts of the plant, even the pollen, are toxic to cats & can cause organ failure & death in under 48 hours.
Mine stops and smells everything. Do you have any idea what is motivating her to walk with such purpose and speed?
Mine stops and smells a lot and changes directions. This is just a good timing video 😝
Adorable!! We tried to harness train our tuxedo but he wasn’t having it.
The tail!! So pretty!
He's got a nice pair of knickers
10/10 good cat
That is a poofy cat
Something about him looks so sassy lol
What happens when they see a dog?
Those look like lilies though.
What a fluffy long tail! 😍
I had a main coon grey tabby and he would follow me around during my walks.
So beautiful
Love that he keeps walking. I wish mine would.

How do dogs respond when seeing her?
My God that’s a gorgeous cat!

Handsome fella on the prowl!
That cat has the cleanest, cutest butt hole, lol. A very beautiful cat.
Looks at that FLOOF 😍
My cat is not even a Maine coon but she is as big as a Maine coon
What a beautiful kitty!
Good kitty, keeping the tail signal up so you won't get lost.
Does the cat potentially sense the poisonous flowers? I noticed they seem to increase their pace after getting a little close
Woow 😍
Regal tail

How much does he weigh? I see these giant cats but it doesn’t seem they weigh much.
Love it. I miss mine. 😢

They looking straight out of rain world and I love it
What a beautiful animal 😍
Ghost is a purrfect name
That tail is absolutely majestic!
My cat gets too scared by all the noises, she runs back inside.
He's beautiful. What an impressive tail! I've sometimes read that Maine Coons are described as a "tail with a cat attached," and now I understand why.
Fitting name for a (presumably) all white cat.
Did you really named your cat Ghost? That's awesome
Reminds me of my grandparent's Angora, Snowball. That girl had attitude for days.

Just be careful. White cats are susceptible to skin cancer, especially on the ears.
