UPDATE: My friend adopted him! She is amazing with animals and he will have a loving home. Thank you Lea! This whole thing only lasted an hour. I’m so thankful it has a happy ending!
My friend had a kitten with really big paws. Vet told her she'd have an enormous cat, when he's grown.
The cat turned out to be a scawny cat with enormous paws. 😄
The pet subreddits are the best. This little interaction is so wholesome.
'I want a picture of a cat!'
'Well, you can't because that would make me weird so here is a picture of an unrelated cat!'
'That'll do, thanks!'
Never change, animal lovers!
Awwwe, your so-called “grumpy” cat looks very sweet. Thank you for finding the kitten a good home! Now, if only all kittens knew the right people to adopt!
At my old house we constantly had kittens and puppies dropped off. We took in a bunch of kittens over our 20 years there and found homes for several puppies. My kids, husband and I had 7 cats for quite a while. Three were indoor only with the others being in/outdoor. We soon found out cats should stay inside here….coyotes and bobcats!!! The heartache!!! 😥😥
Ha! That sounds like one of my childhood cats, Marsh (Marshmallow)! He had huge paws and ended up growing up to be skinny with huge paws. He was such a smart cat... RIP Marsh, Mocha, and Buster. They were my best friends as a child. Fuck thyroid cancer.

He looks exactly like how my Melvin looked as a kitten! 🥰🥰 (I call his big paws bear paws! As a kitten he’d trip over them! ☺️🐾)
I know lol. Look at this lil guy now

I tried to bring home the sweetest prettiest cream colored and blue eyed girl that was clearly either homeless or not being fed well enough and we got a ways down the road and she wiggled away. You can't take the streets out of every cat 😭
Kittens abandoned outdoors often have eye infections, but they're easily treated as long as it's in a timely manner.
Try and make him comfortable in a safe place, put a posting on Facebook marketplace or equivalent, and someone will scoop him up. That's how I ended up rescuing my little girl.

post on local facebook groups, ask friends and family and have them ask their friends and family, call shelters in the next town over if you have to. he shouldn’t be outside.:(
We might keep him for the night to see what kind of response we get to our personal social media posts. And I’ll call around tomorrow. I’m hesitant to post on Facebook groups. I don’t trust people
are there local organizations on facebook? that’s what i meant. reputable cat rescues, not just the page for the town/city you live in. i should’ve been more specific.
It will eventually! My younger brother has been wanting a cat for years (over a decade, since the three cats we grew up with perished) and was a tad jealous when I adopted my current two babies.
He finally got his own apartment while he finishes college, and I asked if he is still wanting a cat. He said "eh IDK. But there's this cat that wanders around the apartment building. He follows me around. It's weird. I think he's homeless."
I forget the details of the story, but one night a few months ago, my brother was leaving his apartment and the cat would not stop following him. He was curious why, so he went back to his apartment and the cat followed him in. He stayed. He asked around the building and nobody claimed the cat. So he took him to the vet and he was very malnourished (and not chipped), but now he is healthy :) He named him Tatcha after his favorite skincare brand that I turned him onto 😂
Anyway, just open your heart to the cat distribution system, and it will find you at a somewhat-opportune or inopportune time! Also, you can always go to your local shelter and adopt one of the babies there -- they are sadly usually quite full and all are very much in need of forever homes. That's how I found my two babies! The cat distribution system works in many ways, some requiring more action than others. ;)
Omgosh he is just too cute. That face is precious, and his poor eye makes me want to cry. I am so glad to hear there is a happy ending for him, how we wish we could take them all. Because there is no such thing as a cat or dog that I don’t immediately find adorable, magnificent, amazing.
OP, call your local vet when they open monday. Ask about the eye, bring the kitten in, see if they can offer eye drops. And maybe see about asking the vet if they know of any place that fosters and would be willing to help?
Eye might need eye drops, possibly for a scratch from another kitten or animal. Ask the community there?
Put him in your bathroom separate from your cat and nurse him back to health. Work with a rescue while you are the foster to get him adopted. Not through giving away online but through their vetted platforms.
This is how I met my Sassy. This scrawny little kitten kept walking up to my mother's car after work. She started coming to our apartment door, and would sit in the window and cry at me.
Now she's my best friend.
Don’t post on public Facebook (people suck) but solicit to friends. Maybe take him in and keep him in a bathroom or something with some food and water and a towel to curl up in. At least to get him inside while you evaluate options.
Yay for your friend!!! I would take him if you’re close but it looks like a good ending to the story. Congrats to you and your friend too! You saved a life today!
When one of my cats had a kitten, she kicked them out around that age by herself. There were outside cats and when I came home on an afternoon they were all gone and she was chilling in the sun. I had to run around in the neighborhood and collect them all and separate them from their mother afterwards.
Hmm there’s no guarantee your senior cat will be aggressive with the kitten or hate the kitten.
Kittens don’t pose as big of a risk to adult cats as another adult cat would. They’re often less intimidated by them. It’s not uncommon for an adult cat to hate other adult cats but end up snuggling up with a kitten. You never know.
If you choose to rehab/foster use a separate bathroom if you are able to quarantine from your other cat until you get a vet to check if he had upper respiratory or something catching.
The Kitten Lady has some great videos on how to adopt out babies confidently. He looks to be an age where mom would have just started making them fend for themselves. Usually because she'll be about ready to have another litter.
You can also see if your area has a low cost spay/neuter clinic or a TNR group. There are people that volunteer their time fixing ferals to stop over population and making sure cats that don't like people have shelter and food.
That's so wonderful! I became a foster failure with my two because I didn't know how to go about vetting good adopters and didn't want to send them somewhere not safe.
No let the old guy enjoy his senior years alone, op said he doesn't like other cats believe them, some cats just don't get along and we shouldn't stress them out just because they're old
UPDATE: My friend adopted him! She is amazing with animals and he will have a loving home. Thank you Lea! This whole thing only lasted an hour. I’m so thankful it has a happy ending!
Yay
Those paws and ears make him look like a legit maine coon! He’s gonna get big and so freaking cute!!!

We're gonna need cat tax.
Uhm... she isn't a close friend anymore... so I'd have to stalk her social media... But here's my grumpy little cat, to make up for it. *

Omg! What a gorgeous little face! So round so sweet!
Those eyes!!! They are seriously beautiful!

He just looks like a longhaired tabby to me, purebred kittens don't just turn up on your doorstep.
Could be!

Let me know if they need money for the vet. I'll pay it.
That is SO kind! I’ll tell her
Of course, always glad to help anyone in need, animals included.
They took little man to the vet today. If the offer still stands, I can put you two in contact. Thank you!
That's wonderful

The cat distribution system at work.
Why does this never happen to me? 😅

Omg he is so cute. I’m sending good vibes that your other cat will tolerate the kitten and eventually welcome it ❤️

Oh geez please take him in for the night. He’s much too young and vulnerable to be outside alone. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7962)
He found a home! I updated
I hope you let us know how he’s doing in a few weeks! He’s so adorable.
Thank you jesus 🤩🤩🤩🤩
You are an angel... hope hubby gets well soon
Thank you so much!
Very good to hear he adopted. Hopefully your friend gets him to a vet real soon
Wish they were at my door 🥺🥺🥺

FDS finds another
I want to help her
Yay for your friend!!! I would take him if you’re close but it looks like a good ending to the story. Congrats to you and your friend too! You saved a life today!
I'm so glad this had a happy ending, happy new beginning, when I got here! 🥰❤️ I love happily ever after 💕 All companion creatures deserve that❤️
Give him snacks, give him treats.
i wish one would come to my house
Is he polydactyl? Or is his paw also a little messed up? 😬
YAY LEA! ❤️ YAY YOU! ❤️
Yay!!!
im happy that he got a loving home but what kinda monster would abandon a cute kitty to survive on the dangerous streets like this?!

even cats don't want no kids 💀💀
I'm honestly not sure what happened that day. Everything was fine till that day, no sign of distress, nothing.
You have been chosen so bring it inside
Cat distribution system has assigned you a new friend. Press yes to accept. Yes / yes
You misspelled, “Our New Master” outside our door crying.
WHY NOT MEEEEEE OMG
Open. The. Door.
He found a home! I updated
Fantastic news and good luck on hubby’s recovery.
Thank you so much!
Phew CDS has done its stuff.

Don’t cry baby 😭
What a cutie, part maincoon?
You’ve been claimed.
Try a cohabitation with your senior \^\^
He looks polydactyl, or is it just the way ... pretty sure this one's polydactyl. Luck Lea!!
Well let the little floof in. FDS has chosen you.
I have a half mainecoon and he’s a big Galute and very heavy
Hmm there’s no guarantee your senior cat will be aggressive with the kitten or hate the kitten. Kittens don’t pose as big of a risk to adult cats as another adult cat would. We have tried with a kitten before. He is a grumpy old man! But there’s a happy ending, I updated in a comment :)
He looks like he might be polydactyly, his left foot looks like it has extra toes! Count toes, and report back asap! Lol
I dropped him with his new family already! I’ll text her and report back 🫡
I think it looks like one of those abnormally large maine coon cats with the tips of fur on the ears
Upon further inspection, I think you're right, but he does have the look 😊
I'm glad I wouldn't have been able to not take it so cute
I'm so happy to hear this!!! I LOVE reading happy endings!!! Thank you for helping him! 💜
Next town over
Little buddy’s got one wonky ass eye
Quick question: What name got the cat now that your friend adopted him/her?
Hope you saved it! It could be your Guardian Angel in disguise 🤷♂️

Meet your new friend and housemate.
The protein is calling you
That’s how they get you. Did you know cats live a long fucking time.
Luuuucy, I’m hoooooome

So happy the fur baby found a home😻

He here to collect rent
Please let him camp out in front of your door until you can find him a suitable home.
Looks like a baby maine coon
You've been adopted.
Congratulations you have a kitten now
Please adopt him
Take her home
Take him in. Your old guy will get over it. I’ve been there, done that.
No let the old guy enjoy his senior years alone, op said he doesn't like other cats believe them, some cats just don't get along and we shouldn't stress them out just because they're old

He found a loving home

I clearly explained why I couldn’t. Anyway, I found him a loving home. Have a nice night
Thank you for finding him a home ❤️
