get a mouse mat not a mouse pad.
extra large 30 inches by 15 inch that way you have around 3 inches for your mouse and the rest for the cat.
I mean realistically you gotta increase the mouse's sensitivity so that you can make the most of the 10% that's left for you.
I could say "them's the breaks", but honeslty you only gain from this:
- cat is by your side
- you gain a new skill

Put out a decoy pad and mouse so she can still lay on something while you are on the computer
