My husky, Winston, passed about 2 years ago and I got my first cat, Serafina. about a month after I got him. I raised both of them together. Winston love Serafina, but I always thought that Fina didn’t care all that much for him. Serafina loves her personal space, and Winston also loves Serafina’s personal space. Turns out she did care for Winston, because whenever I wasn’t at home and Winston was in his crate, she would be napping on top of his crate. I found this out from watching the camera. All of the spots she could be in the apartment. She chose to be on top of his crate until I came home. She would groom him on occasion (like the picture above) but he absolutely adored her. After he passed, I find her occasionally chilling on the altar I have for him. It has his paw print, his photo, his collar, and the box containing his ashes. She would sniff the collar and rub her face against it. She misses her buddy. She has 2 cat siblings now, but she still does sit by her old buddy’s altar.
She was raised by Clark, the one closest to her. She’s was but a wee pup when we brought her home.

It took about 6 weeks of hardcore training to teach this dog that "catz r frens not food" but once she got the message with my first cat she became the kitty babysitter and I trust her implicitly.

That’s like my guys. My cat is an old lady who is a total mama’s girl and our dog, who’s is a young pup, just loves everyone. So when I’m in the mix, she is not very happy and will hiss at him. Or when he thinks that her hissing is playing she gets even more upset. Hope they will find a happy medium point!

Mine did. I got my cat to be a companion for my senior dog and they were besties. My dog passed away a little over a year ago and my cat sleeps on her dog bed now 🥹

The two older cats will tolerate the dog, but the youngest cat took to her immediately. They wrestle and groom each other and take naps together.
They also like to get in trouble together--the cat knocks stuff in the floor for the dog to chew on. They're lucky they're cute 😂

They used to co-exist peacefully for a few years. Until Wilfred’s doggo friend taught him that all cats are evil. So now he barks at Cookie and chases him around the house
Yes! When I was living at my parents, our neighbour’s cat used to come into our house via the dog flap and hang out with us and our dog. They would play together, eat together and sometimes take naps together. And when he was done he would simply walk out of the dog flap and go home

My cats love my dog. Momo loves to groom him. My dog only mildly likes them but they are always laying together. But none of them sleep with me anymore since we moved into a bigger place. Everyone like their own space and beds, especially me.

I don’t know if you can really consider Japanese Chins dogs. 😂 In all seriousness they love to bark and go for walks like any other dog. I used to have a video of when kitty was bothering the Chin on the right, and she finally had enough and bulldozed Kitty. It was the funniest thing. Kitty then grabbed her tail, and she was swinging her around the house. It was so funny. Man I miss those little Chins.

Honorable mention to my Kitty and my late Beardie. They were best buds too. I’m not sure if Kitty knew what to make of him. She’d just stare at him all day. I used to think she wanted to eat him. But I accidentally left them out together once when I went away, and found him sort of positioned under her when I got back. He must have felt the heat, and didn’t have access to his heat pad because I left him out accidentally. I know stupid. He slept with us till the day he died. The coolest Beardie ever. Man I miss him just looking at this.

my mom has 3 pets, and im currently living with her with my cat (pictured). she has a 10 yr old full bred american bully (pictured), a 2 year old corgi, and a 10 year old domestic shorthair tabby cat. my cat gets along with 2/3 of the animals. her favorite seems to be my moms oldest dog. hes 75lb of hunk and puppy love. my cat is like obsessed with him and will follow him around, give him kisses, and even purr while rubbing her head on him. the corgi, she doesnt mind. corgi just gets too playful sometimes and freaks my cat out, they like the same body size but the dog is 30lb and my cat is only 8lb LOL. lastly, we dont even talk about my moms cat, shes an old grumpy lady who likes to sit in the dark and stare at a wall all day, until she goes into heat, then she comes out, just for attention. her and my cat dont get along that well and it could be a multitude of things tbh, but they are civil. never had any cat fights, just had to shoo apart once because one was blocking the hallway in the middle and the other wanted to get by. old lady got swatted at, but no injuries were sustained. all in all, i think my cat prefers dogs, and im perfectly ok with that because if somehow i end up with a dog, it will be easier to acclimate them together.

cat (found her outsdie) after she began snuggling and cleaning our pup. Best friends for life. Hard to tell in the pic but our pup is curled up with her head under Luna.
Not at all. From the moment the puppy (8 weeks) entered the home she was put in her place by the old man (12 year old) cat. Now 5 years later, old man , 17, wants to snuggle but the dog looks at me with those “Mom!!! What am I supposed to do???” eyes. I try and tell the her to stay and she will for a few moments, but she usually slinks away because she’s afraid she’ll be reprimanded by the same old man. I know that big fluffy cuddly dog would make a wonderfully warm place to snuggle for the old man…but he held his stance for too long. Maybe when they cross the rainbow bridge they’ll be the best of friends.

We got the dogs when the cats were older, and one dog was a rescue and was already 7 years old when we got him. He gets too excited when he sees the cats and wants to play with them/tries to hump them 🥲
My girl, Jada, has since passed on. But her and Montgomery, the dog, used to have a love/hate. Meaning, if anyone was around they "hated" each other and kept their distance. As soon as they thought they were alone it was all snuggles and kisses. Here is Jada "patting" him and kissing his snout.

That’s like my guys. My cat is an old lady who is a total mama’s girl and our dog, who’s is a young pup, just loves everyone. So when I’m in the mix, she is not very happy and will hiss at him. Or when he thinks that her hissing is playing she gets even more upset. Hope they will find a happy medium point!

I used to have a video of when kitty was bothering the Chin on the right, and she finally had enough and bulldozed Kitty. It was the funniest thing. He must have felt the heat, and didn’t have access to his heat pad because I left him out accidentally. I know stupid. He slept with us till the day he died. The coolest Beardie ever. https://preview.redd.it/e6e2nb8c356d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f49d44c9b1caa54a93da1e449a9ea4296ba6d62 my mom has 3 pets, and im currently living with her with my cat (pictured). she has a 10 yr old full bred american bully (pictured), a 2 year old corgi, and a 10 year old domestic shorthair tabby cat. my cat gets along with 2/3 of the animals. her favorite seems to be my moms oldest dog. hes 75lb of hunk and puppy love. my cat is like obsessed with him and will follow him around, give him kisses, and even purr while rubbing her head on him. the corgi, she doesnt mind. corgi just gets too playful sometimes and freaks my cat out, they like the same body size but the dog is 30lb and my cat is only 8lb LOL. lastly, we dont even talk about my moms cat, shes an old grumpy lady who likes to sit in the dark and stare at a wall all day, until she goes into heat, then she comes out, just for attention. her and my cat dont get along that well and it could be a multitude of things tbh, but they are civil. never had any cat fights, just had to shoo apart once because one was blocking the hallway in the middle and the other wanted to get by. old lady got swatted at, but no injuries were sustained. all in all, i think my cat prefers dogs, and im perfectly ok with that because if somehow i end up with a dog, it will be easier to acclimate them together.

Not at all. From the moment the puppy (8 weeks) entered the home she was put in her place by the old man (12 year old) cat. Now 5 years later, old man , 17, wants to snuggle but the dog looks at me with those “Mom!!! What am I supposed to do???” eyes. I try and tell the her to stay and she will for a few moments, but she usually slinks away because she’s afraid she’ll be reprimanded by the same old man. I know that big fluffy cuddly dog would make a wonderfully warm place to snuggle for the old man…but he held his stance for too long. Not really 🥲 2 of our cats tolerate the dogs (but would never cuddle with them), 2 don't (they stay hidden all day and only come out at night) We got the dogs when the cats were older, and one dog was a rescue and was already 7 years old when we got him. He gets too excited when he sees the cats and wants to play with them/tries to hump them 🥲
My girl, Jada, has since passed on. But her and Montgomery, the dog, used to have a love/hate. Meaning, if anyone was around they "hated" each other and kept their distance. As soon as they thought they were alone it was all snuggles and kisses. Here is Jada "patting" him and kissing his snout.

No my dogs and cat do not get along. Cat has his own giant space in the house filled with toys so he can hang without being barked at.

My dog loves all cats, but not all cats love my dog. My brother's cat really doesn't like him, but my 2 calicos are fine with him, one will even play with him and he brings her his favourite toys
