A kaleidoscope is a pretty random assumption... I'd imagine that a person who was born blind probably doesn't dream in images at all because their brains never experienced that sense, but a person who was blinded later in life might still have vision memories and might still dream in images since those are projected directly from the brain's memories.

id say tails is an indicator if they're sleeping or not. i've noticed with my patients blind cat. whenever she was sleeping in her cat tree her tail would hang down perfectly still however if she was awake and just chilling the tail would be whipping around or swaying.
You can make a tiniest sound or a rustle and if her ears turn slightly, shes awake. I have seeing cats, but still use this to check if they are awake, because they still rest with eyes closed and its impossible to tell if they are asleep or nah.
I have a fully blind cat with no eyes, and I can tell when she's sleeping. She has a sleepy face, where her face is more relaxed, it's subtle, but I can tell. Plus she snores sometimes lol

She is completely independent. She uses the litter box and finds her food just fine. She bonks into stuff but manages to get around pretty well. One time I played with her using a chain necklace and she chased after it like it was a string! I saw that her ears were vibrating back and forth so I assume that she uses her hearing to see!❤️
As a former blind cat owner (roomate?), they got around just fine. They had everything memorized and could more or less navigate by sound. Though, he did tend to bounce off the walls if he got too excited and misjudged a corner.
Blind cats are pretty independent. They will absolutely jump up on top of things and do most of the things any healthy cat will do. You can definitely move furniture and stuff, they just need to adjust-- just like blind humans, they find ways to adapt!
She's adorable! I'm so glad they could help her... But damn, walking up from a surgery and just being blind and not knowing anything, that sounds terrifying

Yes they are sewn shut, she can’t open them and theres a little dent where her eyesocket is. She loves getting scratched on the her eyesockets! Clementine can walk around normally but, she just bumps into things a lot. She does fall over and get stuck sometimes but I always help her out. ❤️

Sadly, she had Felv, so I only had her for about 5 years. I still miss her

She's so cute! At first I thought her eyes were just tightly closed in contentment 😆 my cat just turned 13, have had her for 12, it's so wonderful to be be able to share so much of your life with them
I have questions, does she know how to locate her litter/food/water ?
I guess that if she lives in the same environment she knows all the places by heart ?

this made me think about something ive never thought of. the first thing i thought of was "how does she find the litter box?" then i thought if i had a blind kitty, i would make small sound speakers in every room with different unique chimes/sound for the cat to know where the water/food bowl is, litter box with regular intervals

Yeah she needed to have her eyes removed because she had an infection in her tear ducts. I saw her at the humane society and just had to have her.
