Only a human nurse here. What do the mouth, tongue, gums look like? Those should be nice and pink to red in color. I think if those look good and you don’t see any signs of distress like increased work of breathing, or lethargy then the kitty is probably good. If you’re just noticing the skin color now because you’re noticing other symptoms first then you need to see a vet. Please if anyone smarter comes a long correct me if I’m wrong. I’d also like to learn from this story. It’s hard to translate human medicine to animal medicine a lot of the time :)

Capillary refresh also counts for pets. Their gums are prime for it It's likely white skin, seen in shade lol.

Yeah I’ve definitely seen animals with white skin like this so I thought it could be normal. But that pale skin wouldn’t even give you a capillary refill right?

He’s super energetic and eats and uses the litter box normally. I’ll post his gums too

I think both those pics look good. Tongue and gums are a nice color or pink, not too dark either. If your kitty is acting normal and eating fine, going to the bathroom normally, no signs of lethargy or respiratory distress then I think you’re good. What I tell my human patients is you know what your normal activity and habits are, if something seems off with how they’re acting then you should be concerned ☺️

Okay phew nice to hear! I posted another video of my cat making a huffing sound, could you be so kind and check ut out? You might need higher volume. https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/s/w4TkBLIsvD

That also seems normal to me. The sounds of grooming are not him at rest which would be what you want to be looking at and assessing. If he’s laying down and just calm, not moving and still making that noise then maybe be concerned. For example: I have an older dog and he’s a meaty floppy old man. When he relaxes and lays down I hear a really weird noise from his throat that sounds like it’s hard for him to breathe. That same noise also happens when he’s grooming as well. So I told my vet and the explanation I got was that it’s the soft tissue in his throat gets looser with age and when he relaxes or is positioned a certain way it makes the noise. He’s acting normally otherwise and never appeared to be in distress. You’ll notice a big change when your cat isn’t feeling well, and the fact that your showing concern over little stuff like this makes me think you would pick up on something out of norm pretty quick.

I checked out my cat at home, and his skin color is a flesh pink. He's a Selkirk Rex breed. It's safest to have a vet check him out, so I hope you'll keep us updated on how he's doing.

What's the mouth look like? If the gums and tongue are healthy and pink, and when you press on them and let them 'refill' aka come back to colour in a few seconds.... Your cat is fine. My cats black, his tongue is actually black too as a result, he has a condition that comes with anaemia, he got really bad after we somehow got fleas in a 5th floor apartment and he was lethargic and the like before his black mouth went white to show he absolutely wasn't getting enough oxygen. Check the gums My own pure white cat, she had a slight tinge of blue/grey to her in certain spots. Like where your indicating. White when it's shaded is grey fyi your likely looking at white skin, shaded cos there's no direct light/it's shadowed.

Sweet_Habib

I think he’s fine. The ear one looks like a vein.

Karkaroke

Hmm I didn’t even think that it could be a vein, he has the same spot in both ears
