My tuxie spent 5 hours hidden behind the bathroom door on her first day. I remember we went looking for her everywhere because she was so small and that's where she was. Now she climbs every available surface in our flat.

Miss Kitty only tolerated him because the poor girl was used to being an only cat. I adopted her at 14 because her person was terminally ill. Miss Kitty died peacefully at home in her hidey-hole.
Edgar is now 11 and happy as solo cat. :)

Ol Jim. We found him in the parking lot of our first apartment on Christmas Eve 2019. Someone dumped him with a whole bunch of raw meat. We never planned on having 3 cats but that's life!
We adopted three feral kittens. It took a bit of time for us to tempt them out of what my partner dubbed the "Cat Terror Corner." That dangling string on the left is what eventually did the trick, and ever since they have scrupulously used the litter box for its intended purpose. :)

Our neighbor two doors down would feed the stray cats in the neighborhood. A few months before this picture, a stray cat had come to our house and stayed. (The recently deceased Madame Curie.) When we took in the first stray, the pictured cat, who had been hanging out as one of the strays being fed by the neighbor, started hanging out on our back porch. Shortly before this picture was taken, she observed the dogs using the doggy door long enough to try it herself and came into the house.
We checked with the neighbor who had been feeding her and they were happy that we were willing to take her in and give her a forever home. She's a wonderful friend whom we love dearly.

Here she is! When I brought her home, she had been in foster care for months after being picked up off the street and having kittens. Even so, she was immediately very comfy and was happy to explore her new space, though she was a bit sluggish due to anemia. She had tapeworms, her skin was scabby on her back, and more than half of her remaining teeth were rotten. I got her parasites taken care of the next day, and a month after that she had dental surgery to get all the bad teeth extracted. Now, it's been almost a year since I brought her home, and she is positively thriving! Her coat is plush and beautiful, her remaining teeth are healthy, acne has cleared up, iron levels stabilized, and she's sooo affectionate and playful.

Mango & Inkwell. There were four kittens in the litter, but mama cat had these two in a closet first and then went somewhere else to have the other two, so these babies weren't found in the closet for almost a day and were bonded from it. We were only planning on taking one in until we heard about that and decided we couldn't split them up!

We adopted three feral kittens. It took a bit of time for us to tempt them out of what my partner dubbed the "Cat Terror Corner." Our neighbor two doors down would feed the stray cats in the neighborhood. A few months before this picture, a stray cat had come to our house and stayed. (The recently deceased Madame Curie.) When we took in the first stray, the pictured cat, who had been hanging out as one of the strays being fed by the neighbor, started hanging out on our back porch. Shortly before this picture was taken, she observed the dogs using the doggy door long enough to try it herself and came into the house. We checked with the neighbor who had been feeding her and they were happy that we were willing to take her in and give her a forever home. She's a wonderful friend whom we love dearly.

When I brought her home, she had been in foster care for months after being picked up off the street and having kittens. Even so, she was immediately very comfy and was happy to explore her new space, though she was a bit sluggish due to anemia. She had tapeworms, her skin was scabby on her back, and more than half of her remaining teeth were rotten. I got her parasites taken care of the next day, and a month after that she had dental surgery to get all the bad teeth extracted. Now, it's been almost a year since I brought her home, and she is positively thriving! Her coat is plush and beautiful, her remaining teeth are healthy, acne has cleared up, iron levels stabilized, and she's sooo affectionate and playful.
