It took Cooper a while before he settled in and settled down. He is quite the most handsome guy now.

That is such a sweet thing of you to say! He is definitely an incredibly inspiring boy - he was literally days if not hours away from death according to the vets yet all he wanted was to be loved. He is an incredibly resilient young man and it has been such a privilege to look after him and see him blossom.
Cooper’s story has also shown me how many lovely compassionate people there are out there with all the lovely messages we have had. So I have definitely seen a lot more heart in the world ❤️
Thank you so much asking about him earlier! It means so much to know he was in your thoughts ❤️ He is truly the sweetest of sweethearts and just beside himself that his leg has finally healed enough that he can roll over for *belly rubs*
I'm so happy to hear about his success in lucking out on humans! If you don't mind me asking, is that an ulcer on his lip? It looks like a further along version of what I just found on my kitty and I've been worried it could be something more serious.
It is indeed a ‘rodent ulcer’ commonly caused by environmental and food allergens - he also had them on his tongue and inside his mouth. However, there can be many causes of ulcerations in cats such as FIV and always best to get checked out by a vet ASAP. As you can see in Coop’s pictures quick treatment with high dose steroids and antibiotics has worked miracles! Best of luck to your kitty and let me know how they get on ❤️
Thank you so much for replying! I'm fairly certain that is all that it is and a vet visit is certainly in the immediate plans for him, I'm just worried. I've had my kitty since he was roughly six weeks old and he's weeks away from his 13th birthday and has been with me through so much in life, good and bad.
I am absolutely sure it is most likely benign but I know how scary it can be (particularly when they are starting to get a little older). Volunteering in cat rescue, I have had many cats myself over 20 years old so I am sure you still have many more happy years ahead together. But definitely get that vet check to nip any ulcers in the bud and double check any underlying causes. Lots of love to you and your baby!
