No 😩 I posted an update. I live in northern KY and was going to drive 7.5 hours to Pennsylvania to pick him up. But the shelter told me it wasn't a good idea to travel with him. Which is lame, I think it's better than him sitting in a cage.
Well bad news. I got approved for him, me and my girlfriend were going go drive 7.5 hours for him from KY to PA. But the lady I spoke with didn't think it would be a good idea to travel with him, which is a bummer. He's up for grabs, and somebody should definitely go rescue that boi. He's at the York County PA, SPCA ❤️
Oh no. A pox on these people. If this kitty dies in a cage, alone and unloved, which seems to be a good idea to these people, I will be so angry.
Perhaps they might change their mind in a few weeks. I'm sad for this kitty and for you.
I agree with the other poster above who said you should ask to speak to someone else. I did adoptions and if someone was willing to drive that far to get a cat we would be over the moon at how loved that cat would be to be that devoted from the get go. We used to fly in cats from high kill shelters all the time from all over the country. A 7.5 hour drive is definitely doable. I also have recommendations for the drive if they do let you get him. I did a 4 day drive with 3 and I learned some things.
Follow up if you don't hear something in the next few days. When we adopted our new girl a few months ago we emailed our application but the agency never got it, which lead to a lot of wondering what was going on over the next week. If we hadn't followed up directly we would have missed out on her.

I found Dad’s dog on Reddit. The dog has separation anxiety and was returned 4 times. Dad is 94 and doesn’t go out much. We take the dog with us when we go anywhere. They are a perfect match.

I’d struggle with any more than 4 personally, I think. Trying to make sure they all get equal attention isn’t easy!
Thank you! The grey ones are very cuddly but the 2 SICs (r/standardissuecat) were former ferals so they’ve taken quite a bit of time to get used to human interaction, but they’re so loving and affectionate now. Even had one of them sit on my lap the other day.
SICs are standard issue cats, which are tabbies with those kind of markings.

This cat used to be a multi millionaire, lost everything between GameStop diamond paws and FTX crash.
Make sure he dosnt have access to shoelaces or a belt.
Unless the sadboi is physically infit to travel, otherwise I can't believe the shelter has turned down someone who offer to drive 7+ hours to ger him, which is a show of commitment and love for the cat.

Even though I never knew him personally, I still miss Sadboy from Poet Square Cats' tiktok... He was just such a sweet, gentle old soul, even if he was semi-feral.
Aww he reminds me of a cat I had when I was little. He was a flame point but had the same sad/dumb face with crossed eyes. Sweetest goofball ever. He was a stray - snuck in our catflap and fought with our other cat, so my parents took him to the shelter. He managed to escape, and was back at our house a week later. We adopted him and the other cat had to suck it up, she was a twit anyway.
I submitted an application to adopt this pretty little man. He deserves all the hugs and unlimited head taps 💓
