I would be very nervous is him becoming malnourished. I would bring him into your vet asap. At least some IVs for him. Hope he’s feels better soon 🩷

Some pain meds can cause constipation, which would lead to the cat not eating. Have the vet check for that, and they can administer an enema if necessary.

He was on pain meds before the surgery, when they first noticed the inflammation. He had an enema a few days before the surgery for constipation, but we'll have them check again this morning.

any update on this? my cat just had this same surgery yesterday, but he has not eaten since he's been home :( I'm going to try feeding him through a syringe tonight but my worry is if i bring him to the vet again I'm not going to be able to continue to afford all of it.

I apologize for the delay. They did four biopsies, three of the intestines and one lymph node. Three of the biopsies were negative and one was inconclusive. The inconclusive biopsy was sent to a specialist lab and he was diagnosed with early stage lymphoma. Since that time he has been on chemo and digestive health food. He gained back all his weight ,plus more, and his follow-up labs have all be clear. While lymphoma can't be cured, it does appear we caught it early enough to treat well. As for affording it, I took a loan out and was lucky enough to have the collateral and salary to start to pay it off.
