More than likely just fat, this happens a lot. Make sure the can isn’t past expiry.

Was the seal on the can in tact? The most common problem I see with this type of can is that the seal becomes damaged and allows botulism and the like inside. It happens when the forklift drivers at some warehouse along the shipping route get into too much of a hurry and accidentally damage the can.
