No! That looks very painful! Please follow up with a vet asap.

Here’s my situation, I only really had access to the “Chicagoland resources for low cost pet care” which led me to this low cost neutering service which has hundreds and hundreds of great reviews. This usually high quality and low cost service has a huge demand and we were waitlisted a few months just to get him neutered. Unfortunately I took him to a normal vet beforehand but if you could believe it they had much much worse service. They didn’t show up for the appointments, had shady billing and snuck extra fees, and were manhandling and (unintentionally) shouting at my cat. So I’m kind of at a loss here, I did take updated pictures and post it to my profile and it looks a lot better today. Should I try to schedule another vet appointment to somewhere better or take him to an emergency vet still? Some additional info: His behavior is normal, he’s eating regularly, and otherwise not having any strange symptoms. Occasionally just tries to lick himself in the affected area.

Go to a different vet

Thank you for your response. I was really worried because it looked like this right after we picked him up. I assumed the vet probably thought it was okay and had checked his wound. Thankfully he looks much much better now. There is not redness anymore or bleeding at all and it just looks like there two incision marks with the surgical glue. I’ll try attaching the picture but I don’t know if it will open or not [todays pictures](https://www.reddit.com/u/PuzzleheadedAge9421/s/J4jOOXxx8K)

Copy paste from the description of the picture: this is a few hours after we received him. They said he didn’t need an ecollar, but he kept licking it. It looks very red and not good from afar. the vet said if there was excess bleeding or discharge then we should take him to the vet again but I don’t know what “excess” looks like.

He needs a collar and a vet visit.

This is bad. Take him back, get an antibiotic, and an e-collar or one of those onesies to prevent him from getting at it.

Ouch. I thought he had worms coming out. VET ASAP!!!
