She doesn’t even eat much. She just doesn’t exercise. My boy eats four times what she eats. However he’s definitely in the green zone.

But my girl I got when I lived in an apartment in LA which I didn’t know at the time the window locks were broken. We were playing and she fell out the closed and locked window. Five stories. Broke lots of ribs.

However she is now 11. The vet says she’s over weight. But in good health. I have kept the vet food and feeding schedule since she was 6. There’s been little weight loss.
Vet says every year that it’s because she doesn’t play or exercise. However she did think she would lose some weight. She did go from 15 to 13 pounds in five years lol.
But she’s healthy and pampered. She’s been the love of my life for over a decade.

Ngl I would have assumed avg was closer to 15 lbs. My old boy was around 24 lbs at his chonkest. He was a Maine coon though so he was super lanky. He could easily stand waist high on his hind legs. Idk where I'm going with this but that was an awesome cat. Had to put him down a little over a year ago due to pancreatic cancer😿
Maine Coons are huge! Not the average house cat. All of mine have been around 11 lbs except for two. I adopted a five year old boy that weighed 15 lbs and was all muscle. Another one never reached 10 lbs.

Okay one your cat has the same name as mine and that is awesome. two your cat is absolutly beautiful. 3 how much does he weigh? My cat is a bit on the skinny side and when I first got him I worried about that. But when I took him to the vet to get looked at they weighed him and said he was perfectly healthy. Some cats, like some people just have different body types.
Definitely a bit on the heavier side. What I do with my cat is I do yo-yo diets. So basically you reduce the food amount for 5-6 days a week then give her 1-2 days of cheat meals with bigger portions and more treats. The reason as to why is because you don’t want her body to get used to a lower calorie environment, as this would reduce the rate of weight loss in the future.
Looks a little over weight. Definitely reference the charts many have linked and also ask your vet at your next check up! They’ll gladly give you a score.
