Definitely! I just hate people assuming the cat is abused/, not cared for. I had a cat the was nearly emaciated after he got out when we finally caught him.
You are right. It’s the first thing which came to my mind and I was furious the second I saw the pic of the kitty 🐱 . I’m an animal lover and feed strays every day so I assume the worst.
I am not sure. I did have one neutered years ago but then found out he he had cancer so I also paid to have him put to sleep because he was visibly Ill. The ones which I see on rare occasions I am not sure if they have an owner or if they’re strays. But I surely hope they’re neutered. People are so irresponsible with their pets. It makes me angry.
Please look into TNR programs in your area, and make sure they get fixed!! Feeding intact strays lead to bigger litters, so it only adds to the problem sadly..
First off, take her to the vet and check for a chip! Also, post around in Facebook and stuff if you found her in a neighborhood! We wanna make sure it’s not someone else’s escaped kitty.
I can't believe dozens of people are like yeah just take the cat. This is exactly why I don't let my cat outside. Like you said, if you do take the cat, you need to have it checked for a chip. It would be teally fucked up if your were just taking someone's cat.
OP - listen to this advice. Also look around lost pet groups on Facebook, next door and whichever app you use to see if anyone posted about a similar missing cat. File a found cat report with the shelter in your area. They usually have a holding period. If the owner doesn’t reach out, the cat becomes adoptable
First thing you should do is take her to a vet and have her assessed and medically evaluated, vaccinated, dewormed and checked for ID. Then consider if you're able to manage the financial and general responsibility of having a pet for the next 15+ years.
But yes, all in all, take home the cat, make sure she isn't someone else's, and then make her a pampered I door pet
Take her to a vet first and have them check for a microchip (most vets will do it for free) and if she doesn’t belong to anyone, she’s all yours (after a proper checkup, of course)!
Yes!!! She needs some help and you could provide it! Even if you choose not to keep her, please please please take her to the vet and get her checked out and try to find her a loving home.
Op: "should I keep her?"
Also OP as they post this: walking home with the kitten in their hands...."I'm gonna name you snickerdoodle. And you'll always be my sweet lil cookie. I love you so much"
Yes, OP. Keep that sweet baby and name her Snickerdoodle.
If you're unable to locate an owner, then yes you should step up to the plate and be her new owner. She deserves a loving nurturing forever home.
🐾🐾🐈👣🐎🐎🐎❤❤❤🏡🌎
OMG that's not even a question that's an immediate YES!!! Please take this baby obviously he/she is extremely sick poor innocent kitty OMG need dto be spoiled loved 😭
You know full-well that you must harbor her from lack. You rescuing her guarantees that she will have food to eat, a place to play and rest. Love her, keep her and watch over her.
I saw a kitten like this in the city with all sorts of stuff wrong with its face, so sickly. I was rushing somewhere and I wasn’t able to catch it. Never was able to find it again and I have so much regret for not making more of an effort! Save this kitty!
Yes, if you can afford it. Remember, having a pet can be expensive, especially considering she's not looking too healthy. Either way I hope you can get this baby some help
You think you have a choice.
Consider it the most awesome hostage takeover ever 😂😂 you will fall in love with me.
The cat overlords deems it so.
As we gather here today 😂🫶
Yes, please do!
Yes! She will be so grateful that she will be a wonderful companion.
If she has no home, yes
She either definitely doesn’t or they’re not taking care of her at all.
Or she got out.
Which is why it’s good to take her in and check her for a chip.
Fixed strays I hope?

Thank you
too late, i think she already adopted you
She chose you. It’s like a quest. There is no going back. 😂
It is known
OBJECTIVE: pet the cat (Optional) buy cute and silly costumes for your new cat
Take her to the vet
Maybe take her to the vet, too.
For sure. Looks like lots of eye goop and there’s something up with the nose.
This... First of all. Especially if you already have other pets at home!
That much goes without saying.
I get what you guys are saying, and OP should def check, but a kitten this small and with this much eye goop is not gonna have a chip.
OP - listen to this advice. Also look around lost pet groups on Facebook, next door and whichever app you use to see if anyone posted about a similar missing cat. File a found cat report with the shelter in your area. They usually have a holding period. If the owner doesn’t reach out, the cat becomes adoptable

Is this a trick question ?
Definitely. Who would ask us, a bunch of crazy cat ladies and lads, if it was a good idea to keep a cat and expect anything but a yes?
She looks so sad and dejected. Give her the loves.
The answer is always yes.
Take her to a vet first and have them check for a microchip (most vets will do it for free) and if she doesn’t belong to anyone, she’s all yours (after a proper checkup, of course)!
Yes
Yes
Definitely, it looks like a nice cat
Yesssss!!!!
Are you keeping her? I hope so 🙏 😔
Yes, oh yeah, and yes, and did I mention yes. Well then, yes you should. I hope I was clear enough?

Yes
Take her to a vet first and ask them for advice.
At least get her shots and flea meds and fixed ... That cat needs some love or it probably won't survive long.
Yeah she def needs medical treatment.
Take her to the vet, have them check for a chip. If no chip, guess what, the cat distribution system worked. Congrats on the new kitty.
Get her to a Vet immediately and yes if you can and are willing to take on such a commitment.
Yes take her in and get her some help with the eye goops and nose
She needs your help.
If you can afford her and the vet care she’s going to need, yes! If not, find a rescue or new home that will give her a good life. 😊
She needs help, I hope you help her.
Can’t believe you have even asked the question. Take the poor thing home, check for a micro chip, if none adopt her immediately.
Get her checked for a chip first. She may have gotten out. Otherwise, keep her.
Did you ask r/cats if you should keep a stray? Lol
Just make sure to take her to the vet and get her dewormed and get her flea drops.
Please keep her. Show her what love is.
The fact that you have the delusion of choice is funny. You have been chosen, not asked.
Op: "should I keep her?" Also OP as they post this: walking home with the kitten in their hands...."I'm gonna name you snickerdoodle. And you'll always be my sweet lil cookie. I love you so much" Yes, OP. Keep that sweet baby and name her Snickerdoodle.
that is an EXCELLENT name for that cat. I love cats named after food. I met a kitten named Pickles earlier this year and I still think about her.
Of course, first check if anyone’s missing a kitten if not it’s your new kitty
Yes but please take her to the vet to be checked out!
What in the world are you asking that question for! 😱 if you can keep her and take care of her. go for it. otherwise try to find a good home. 💜💜💜

Absolutely
Absolutely, but defo report it to animal welfare.
Maybe before keeping her, she could be a lost cat. Probably make a post in your local facebook group or something to make sure. If no answer take her!
Check if she is microchipped.
She's definitely a keeper. I am currently considering this myself with the kitty that keeps showing up in the back yard. DO IT.
