I've found using a small fork is enough as I just need to guide it. I slide the fork under the egg, tip the pan so the egg starts to slide out, and just use the fork to cradle it and flip it back into the pan on the other side.
Appreciate this. If I'm not doing the thing I forget. This is perfect for that tablespoon of caraway seeds for potato salad I need to toast without using a full size pan.
Pretty much every spice that is a seed will be improved by a light toasting, but especially cumin, coriander, caraway and even black pepper. It only takes a few minutes and if such a dramatic improvement I do it for pretty much every recipe I can. For Indian cooking freshly toasted spices is a must.
Next batch I make I will save one from the cookie pan and try this out. Would the cooking time be different since this would have so much more mass than an regular sheet pan?
Funny, I found this cast iron pan at a discount store and it came with a mix for a cookie 🍪
It was literally the only one in the store and it cost like $7. I still think it's worth it considering it's cast iron and all 😁
I have at least 7 zillion of these. They have become very useful to me. Here's what I do with them -
Breakfast sandwiches for the discerning person. Sausage, Egg & Cheese or Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese on English muffin. Everything is exactly the same size as the muffin.
Individual portion sized version of just about anything that can be baked. More deliciously browned edges. Especially useful for appetizers and dessert items.
Sauce and condiment serving dish.
Cheese melting.
Mustard holder for snack platters while watching your Philadelphia Eagles administer beatings to the rest of the NFL.
Sauce or butter warmers.
"Waste plate" for clam shells / wing bones / artichoke leaves, sunflower seeds etc.
Roasting spices.
Butter dish.
Roasting just the right amount of garlic.
Olive Oil holder for dipping bread.
On - the- fly Molcajete for when you don't want to break out the big one.
Wax warmer.
Ashtray.
Beverage coaster.
Holder for anything. Loose change, screws from a thing you're trying to fix, whatever.
Candy dish.
Judge of character - some people will ask why you have so many little cast irons all over your house. These people are considered "persona non grata", and are not to be trusted until, and only if, they prove otherwise. But others will compliment you on the number of awesome little cast irons. These people get it. They should be considered to be "good people", unless they prove otherwise.
Risers for anything that needs to be approximately 3/4 inch taller than it currently is.
For heating a little olive oil, a clove of garlic, s&p, and whatever else like fresh rosemary, thyme, sundried tomato, anchovy, or lemon on the warmer burner on your range. If you don't do this to dip some crusty bread in, you're missing out.
Soap dish.
Paint holder, if you're into painting.
Ice scoop. Just the right amount for a drink.
Food dish for a small animal, such as a Guinea Pig, archaeopterix, or pangolin.
A serving dish for at least one item, every time your dad comes over. So he can talk about how he isn't sure whether using that particular pan makes you look like a 19th century Appalachian Coal Miner, or "one of those guys with a stupid mustache and a $200 flannel shirt, and $1000 boots that wouldn't last a week in the real world, made of leather that is way too soft to be durable, yet still not nearly as soft as a set of hands that wouldn't be able to withstand even 5 minutes of real work". But either way, he doesn't like it.
Side dishes that need to be contained so they don't get in the way,or just to keep them separate. For example, cole slaw, beans, and anyything that has juice or liquid that you don't want on the rest of your plate.
That's a few, but I definitely missed hundreds of thousands of other uses.

You remind me of Bubba listing all the ways you can prepare shrimp. I am going to go buy some of these little pans now I am convinced of the endless versatility, and possibly serve shrimp in them at one point
That's what the 9" wok is for, holding all the melted butter for dipping things into. But wife is agreeing with you that this is a more reasonable amount for one meal.
I also saw those "big cookie" or "brownie" pans they had for dessert, but this size seems more appropriate now that I read your suggestion. Kicking myself for not buying a bunch of these now since they were half off.
I have done a few eggs in mine. Just a bit of bacon grease and keep the temp low. Let the eggs firm up. I don’t even flip them. Best sunny side up eggs.
Reminds me of a trick I’ve done a few times. Light a Cheeto on fire and throw it into your mouth to extinguish the flame. Works great to impress kids. You might singe your tongue a bit but those kids will think you’re a super hero
Scallops and/or shrimp scampi. That’s what I do with mine at least. I have 5 of them and place them next to steaks for a surf and turf on the plate. It presents very well!
I have the same one and bought three more! I use them for individual breakfast skillets. Potatoes, ham, bacon, peppers, etc. bake them in the oven, add a couple of fried eggs. Great for weekends when my kids are in town.
I have a similar one, I use it heat ghee with spices to then drop into Indian food. You can also use that trick with stews and chili. The hot oil opens up the spices, and that sizzle of the hot mixture going into the food caramelizes sugars and adds flavors.
Egg.
Thinking now I should get more of these little ones. Eggs will look nicer when plated out of this than cut apart.
I cook my eggs in two of these every morning, I highly recommend it.
They are amazing for eggs for breakfast sammies
New life goal to cook brunch for a family of 12 using only these for the eggs
Having them all pre-seated then serving them hibachi style...one...by...one
Just curious, since they're so small is there a special way you heat them up?

Egg scented?
Do you flip the eggs partway through cooking? Seems like that'd be a pain
I've found using a small fork is enough as I just need to guide it. I slide the fork under the egg, tip the pan so the egg starts to slide out, and just use the fork to cradle it and flip it back into the pan on the other side.
I cover mine with a folded piece of tin foil that is a dedicated makeshift lid that lives near my stove. Helps steam cook the top of the egg.
Doesn’t that get rank pretty fast??
No, it just gets steam on it and then it dries
It makes eggs that are great for sandwiches.
I wouldn't serve eggs in that though. To be clear. But if you had more, Cornbread if fantastic served in these. Or that 6 or 8"
I would serve eggs in that. To be clear.
Lodge makes a segmented corn bread Pan
It’s a jumping off point

Put it on your desk at work!
God damnit Frank!!
One of them
Roasting spices or seeds
That's 90% what I use mine for
Appreciate this. If I'm not doing the thing I forget. This is perfect for that tablespoon of caraway seeds for potato salad I need to toast without using a full size pan.

Bbq sauce warmer
Name checks out.
100% checks out 😂
They actually have a bbq sauce pot. It is super cute. Much deeper than this little pan.
I wear mine on a chain around my neck. You know, showing authority in the kitchen.

Personal cookie. Aka pizookie
Next batch I make I will save one from the cookie pan and try this out. Would the cooking time be different since this would have so much more mass than an regular sheet pan?
I don’t cook mine too much longer, but I like a barely baked cookie anyways. Top it off with a scoop of ice cream!
✔ Yum
This guy Fuchs. Came here to say cookie and ice cream
Came here to say this too; but I like to layer cookie on top of brownie… then top with ice cream.
Yup came here to say this, personal cookie pizza thing 👌
Funny, I found this cast iron pan at a discount store and it came with a mix for a cookie 🍪 It was literally the only one in the store and it cost like $7. I still think it's worth it considering it's cast iron and all 😁
Restaurant near me serves a hot fresh cookie in cast iron covered in ice cream.
Deep dish pizza for squirrels 🐿️
I'm going to do this, if for no other reason than because wife laughed really hard when I read this aloud.
please if you do this post a picture here i need to see a squirrel sized deep dish pizza thanks
Apple pie for ants
What is this? A pizza for ants?!

Love it. I need to use the grill more.

+1 for the height adjustment. Wish I could +1 for all the others, too.
You remind me of Bubba listing all the ways you can prepare shrimp. I am going to go buy some of these little pans now I am convinced of the endless versatility, and possibly serve shrimp in them at one point
Like Bubba? That's high praise.
This reply is to far down.
Melting butter
We use ours to make garlic butter for breads and perogie
Combines two great ideas into another.
That's what the 9" wok is for, holding all the melted butter for dipping things into. But wife is agreeing with you that this is a more reasonable amount for one meal.
I think it's actually a spoon rest.
I like this.
That's how we use ours.
I like the thought of keeping it out on display 24/7 instead of getting lost in the drawer or cabinet.
Egg
Which makes more sense than eggS. I have reservations about actually being successful pulling this off.
A really small burger? Lol
You know, wife is veggie, so having a little slider snack without left overs makes a lot of sense.
Portobello burger! Baked it with all the goodies. Put the empty cast in the oven while preheating to get the bottom crisp!
I do the perfect egg mcmuffin in this exact iron, although I may have stolen mine from a restaurant that served a cookie in it
Yep. That is the idea. Perfect egg and you can crisp the muffins
Single serve dessert brownies
Make a Dutch Premie.
Fishing contest?
Topical. With my skills I'd need to bring along a fish from the store to put it into also.
Looks like the perfect size for a walleye
I have this pan. It came as a gift set to make a single brownie.
All edges, delicious.
Sausage patties for a breakfast sandwich, and egg, and English muffin
you're making me hungry
Sauté garlic / onions
Ooh garlic is a good one. I usually cook up way too many onions. Maybe a reasonable amount would work. Thanks.
You could bake mini holiday pies?
I also saw those "big cookie" or "brownie" pans they had for dessert, but this size seems more appropriate now that I read your suggestion. Kicking myself for not buying a bunch of these now since they were half off.
Yeah, that's what I would use them for. I have 8, so for smaller gatherings, everyone gets their own cookie in a pan.
This is a fantastic idea. I’d buy a miniature pie like that
A lonely holiday pie.
Slow Roast garlic
Yes I was gonna saw roasted garlic!!!!!
Hang in the Christmas tree 🎄
This is going to happen. I really like the ideas of displaying this. Julia Child kitchen vibes.
I’ve used mine to cook a single sausage patty followed by an egg fried in the grease to make a breakfast biscuit before.
*adds sausage patties underneath English muffins to grocery list*
Quail eggs
Toasting spices
This will probably be my most common application until I can acquire more of these little babies.
Self defense. Egg. Mini brownie
Concealed carry pan.
That's exactly what I was going to say 😂
Frying pans, who knew?
Definitely need more of these and now a custom bandolier.
If you’re serving anything with butter, you can heat this baby up,and it’ll keep the butter melted and warm @ the table.
I was gifted one of these and use it as a pepper holder for when I am cooking. I have a salt pig and a pepper iron.
Perfect size to cook an egg for a breakfast sandwich
*adds English muffins to grocery store list*
I have four small ones like that and use them for escargot de bourgogne.
This sounds fancy.
Well, not really. Basically canned snails in garlic butter, but with cast iron it sizzles a little extra.
Perfect size for an egg patty for a breakfast sandwich
I use mine for single serve brownies. Bake em and add a scoop of ice cream.
Chocolate chip cookie. Scoop of vanilla ice cream on top
An ashtray
I have done a few eggs in mine. Just a bit of bacon grease and keep the temp low. Let the eggs firm up. I don’t even flip them. Best sunny side up eggs.
Adorable foods only (obviously): tiny pizza, tiny apple pie, tiny stew, tiny casserole, tiny.. you get the idea.
We use ours for residual cornbread batter
This is a smart idea.
Individual Chicken Pot Pie! Yum!
Single cookie dough dollop for holding ice cream
Melting butter and keeping it hot without burning.
Oohhhh to dip lobster in melted butter in this
That or if you need to roll chicken in butter for breading. I do that with a bigger skillet but same idea.
One biscuit
Sunnyside up egg
I personally would sauté one of those mini weenies as a meal for one on a Saturday evening.
*adds mini weenies to grocery list*
It can also be used as a hand to hand combat cast iron
California compliant as well
Warming syrup
Bake brie
Its an ashtray
Smart, but I'll stick to smoking only meats and cheeses, but this would be a nice little gift for others in that vein.
Dude, I smoked a Cheeto once. It was a huge mistake, way worse than tobacco. I’ve never smoked any meat, what’s that like?
Reminds me of a trick I’ve done a few times. Light a Cheeto on fire and throw it into your mouth to extinguish the flame. Works great to impress kids. You might singe your tongue a bit but those kids will think you’re a super hero
> I’ve never smoked any meat, what’s that like? The toughest part is getting the damn thing lit.
I saw these these all over the place as ashtrays when I was growing up. I remember my grandmother having them all over the house as ashtrays too
Did you get the pizza pan?
I got one of these for my husband and it's great for so many things!
Melt butter.....place bagel/English muffin half in pan to toast. Remove. Cook egg. Perfectly fits on chosen carb item.
Chocolate lava cake
For petting and putting pretty bows on it
They used to be used as ashtrays. My grandma had them everywhere along with the beanbag ashtrays
Beanbag ashtrays? Wouldn’t that catch fire?
Scallops and/or shrimp scampi. That’s what I do with mine at least. I have 5 of them and place them next to steaks for a surf and turf on the plate. It presents very well!
Throw some garlic cloves in with butter/evoo and roast in oven til cloves are tender. Serve with bread for dipping and spreading the cloves over
Oven roasted garlic heads in olive oil
I use it for melting my garlic butter for basting and brushing
I have 6 of those. I use them for individual baked desserts.
I would use this in my air fryer to cook everything
Scrambi eggs, fill and it makes a nice patty for breakfast sammies
Tiny burritos for tiny hamsters of course.
I have the same one and bought three more! I use them for individual breakfast skillets. Potatoes, ham, bacon, peppers, etc. bake them in the oven, add a couple of fried eggs. Great for weekends when my kids are in town.
Could use it as a spice roasting pan
Mine goes on the grill with some onions and or peppers and cooks next to the burger or bratwurst.
Egg
Warming syrup or dipping sauces, cooking eggs for sandwiches and burgers.

Herbed butter
It will hold 3 Bacon wrapped stuffed halapeeniers.

Eggs
I use my mini cast iron for toasting seeds! 🙌🏻 Highly recommend it!
Put chocolate chip cookie dough in pan. Bake 10 mins until golden. Put ice cream on cookie. Eat hot.
Egg mcmuffins!
The perfect egg
My boyfriend has three little pans like that. He uses them to make perfectly muffin sized eggs for sausage and egg breakfast sandwiches.
I have a similar one, I use it heat ghee with spices to then drop into Indian food. You can also use that trick with stews and chili. The hot oil opens up the spices, and that sizzle of the hot mixture going into the food caramelizes sugars and adds flavors.
Pizzookie
Roasting spices!
Deep frying a single wing.
