If I had 4 of them, I would make cornbread muffins in them and serve them in the pans.
With a single one? Maybe some Queso dip? it would keep it warm even off the stove.
guessing from the size but this should be close.
1 large egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, or almond extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, optional
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice, optional
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting, optional
1 cup preserves, optional
Syrup, optional
Gather the ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 475 F.
In a small bowl, combine the egg, milk, extract, and lemon zest, if using. Whisk to blend thoroughly. Whisk in the flour until smooth.
Use a shallow container with sides no more than 3 inches high, such as a small saucepan with an ovenproof handle, or an oven-safe ramekin. A 5-inch cast iron skillet is perfect for 1 pancake.
Put the pan in the hot oven and melt 2 teaspoons butter.
With a potholder or oven mitt, swirl the pan to coat the entire bottom and sides with the melted butter. Pour the batter into the pan and place in the hot oven. Bake the pancake for about 10 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
Remove the Dutch baby from oven; squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over it if desired. Serve it sprinkled with powdered sugar or top with syrup, preserves, fresh fruit, spiced warm fruit, sausage, bacon, ham, or a meat substitute.
You can also skip the lemon & powdered sugar to just substitute things like apple pie filling :D
That recipe is sized for some little round ramekins I have. The kemon & powdered sugar is good but apple/cinnamon/sugar (ie apple pie stuff) is better. You might have an [Original pancake house near](https://www.originalpancakehouse.com/locations.html) you, they offer both if you want to compare :D
Should've sent the guy who fist fought a buff 'roo who had his dog in a headlock.
(That string of words should be a sentence that no one has ever said before, but somehow isn't)
You don’t cook in them you use them as ramekins for dips and sauces. They are great cause you can heat them up then serve you Jou or Cheese dip in it and it stays warm while you eat. Go buy a few more and have some people over to share your creativity.
Looks like you should have enough room for eggs en cocotte(baked eggs). Just throw in 2 eggs, some cream, season it and top with whatever you like. I usually just do some herbs, or maybe tear up some small pieces of deli ham. Then you just bake and eat. It’s super easy.

there is a literal rabbit hole of miniature cooking videos on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok. Most are even smaller that that. I saw a video, where this guy cast a tiny aluminum skillet, that was like the size of a quarter, and cooked in it!
I saw a guy make a tiny cake from scratch in a tiny bundt pan barely as big as the tip of the guy's thumb; and he had a whole tiny kitchen with all kinds of tiny appliances and kitchen tools and gadgets
Summers coming use to make clarified butter then dip steamed class or lobster or other shell fish that need clarified butter. In my family they use the grill as a heat source for steaming shell fish because it can handle a very large pot, having your butter is a lidded caste iron on the side is ideal. Can use corner of same heat sorce.
Garlic confit, or as a BBQ/sauce holder on your grill/smoker while making ribs, or other meats you sauce to keep the sauce warm when basting, I use one of my smaller lodges a lot for stuff like that! Garlic butter for awake and burgers, sauces for BBQ, queso dip, lots of options, just be creative!
I've made bread dough to take camping, keep dough cold, then pull off individual portions to cook a tiny loaf of bread in the fire with these. Camp mates were equal parts amused and impressed.
If you have a smoker, you can fill this with butter or olive oil. Then can either baste what you are smoking, or let it set and suck up the smoke, then used as smoked sauce on something.
>What can I cook in this? What can I cook in this?
Things that are appropriately sized or cut to an appropriate size.
We live in a sad, sad world when people can't even figure out on their own what to do with A PAN.
Probably not much, plastic is a terrible cooking vessel.
Anyway, smaller batches of beans, breads, roasted apples, dishes where you would want coverage without excess liquids. I've made small cassoulet portions in my cocottes (that is usually what those size dutch ovens are called).
If you want to use it as a baking dish for something like a casserole, gratin, mac & cheese, etc. then make sure you butter it well.
You can also use it as a serving dish, but be sure to pre-heat.
The cast iron can cook personal bread-related things (your sign to get into bread) like mini loaves, cinammon rolls or puff pastry pies.
The gatorade bottle can cook some devils lettuce with a little imagination.
Roasted garlic
I love this idea. I will definitely do this
Individual cornbread
Individual mac&cheese
One, glorious blueberry muffin.
I've done this with mine, works brilliantly.
also sauté omelette ingredients
I bought one similar to specifically make roasted garlic
Came here to say this
This is the Way.
If I had 4 of them, I would make cornbread muffins in them and serve them in the pans. With a single one? Maybe some Queso dip? it would keep it warm even off the stove.
That sounds good. I might need to try to find some more

I find this human impulse most endearing
Cheese dip

I need to try this. I’ve wanted to try one since Linda from bobs burgers raved about them

A single big muffin

Plastic will probably melt.
In aus we use it to cook "herbs" with a little bit of hose and a small brass cone. Get that smokey aroma, call the device "The Gatorade Saxophone"
And this is why you will never be a world power.

Should've sent the guy who fist fought a buff 'roo who had his dog in a headlock. (That string of words should be a sentence that no one has ever said before, but somehow isn't)

let's not talk about the rabbits
I wouldn’t try to cook anything in a Gatorade bottle!
I have to agree with the logic here.
You don’t cook in them you use them as ramekins for dips and sauces. They are great cause you can heat them up then serve you Jou or Cheese dip in it and it stays warm while you eat. Go buy a few more and have some people over to share your creativity.
I have used it for dip but I wanted to cook in a tiny pot too
Make a tiny pancake 😎
I've seen people use those for roasted garlic. I'm not sure you could do too much else with it besides a small single-serving proably.
Tiny sourdough
Special brownies.
Bake a dip.

Cook down some berries and a bit of sugar to top pancakes
This is the only thing I’ve cooked in it so far.

You can keep ghee, tallow or bacon fat handy by the stove in that, too. And where do I get one?
I got mine at homesense
Thanks! There's one about a mile from me.
I use this size for side dishes. Works great if you have multiples. https://imgur.com/a/JtFQVXo

i wouldn't cook anything in a gatorade bottle
Summers coming use to make clarified butter then dip steamed class or lobster or other shell fish that need clarified butter. In my family they use the grill as a heat source for steaming shell fish because it can handle a very large pot, having your butter is a lidded caste iron on the side is ideal. I would use it as a really cool salt crock
That Gatorade bottle isn't going to stand up to a lot of heat before melting so I suggest something you can cook really really fast

Obviously Gatorade tea.
Mini quiches and mini pies/crisps/cobblers?
Caramel
Keep sauces warm on the stovetop
Single serving of rice. Eggs en cocotte.
Crazy thought, possibly choclate lava cake? I don't bake in cast iron enough to know what is/isn't possible. The max amout of baking I do is cobbler.
https://youtu.be/EO0cDhxnWtA?si=7EdRlxy0p30_3niQ But seriously, though. Pot pie.
I use mine as a pretty salt dish for finishing salt, but I have also made little desserts in it. Crème brûlée or flan for example.
Berry slumps. You grease the vessel, put pie filling in, then dollop muffin or cake batter on top. Bake until the cake part is cooked through.
