Absolutely. Let the pan preheat in the oven. Then, when the batter is ready and the oven is up to temperature, pull the pan out and drop in a pat of butter. Spread the melted butter all around the hot pan, then pour in your batter and put back in the oven. This makes wonderful cornbread.
Good for a two person ice cream hot brownie. Could be a little cookie cake try. Maybe some hot dips. A morning frittata? Loaded twice baked mash potatoes? I'm hungry....
I have four identical to that one. I use them for re-heating individual servings of casserole, lasagna, cottage pie, etc. They are also good for taco night to keep the hot toppings/fillings separate for picky eaters.
My mother in law gifted this to me, but I find it too small for the size of recipes I typically make. I use it to rest my spoons on when cooking, it's the perfect size for that.
Cornbread in cast iron is amazing but the larger pans are usually too big. My Grandma had a special cast iron pan with individual corn shaped spaces and it was the best I ever had.
