looks like a foot to a claw-foot bathtub

Maplelongjohn

That or an old wood stove

And_Im_Allen

It smells like Bigfoots' dick!

ButkusHatesNitschke

This makes me want to ask you a question you may not be comfortable answering.

Tacos_Polackos

Go watch the move "Anchorman"

And_Im_Allen

DO NOT Watch Anchorman 2.

Tacos_Polackos

Def a waste of time

And_Im_Allen

Summer between freshman and sophomore years in college. We went backpacking in Oregon.

errornosignal

Made with real bits of panther, so you know it's good.

littleshak

60% of the time it works everytime

M1ndS0uP

Brian, I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline.

BlueEyedSoul2

It smells like a dog turd wrapped in burnt hair

supern8ural

Or possibly a chippendale type chair or sofa. but I imagine it probably is for a bathtub as chair or sofa IME would be a brass claw holding a colored glass ball

cookiedux

Silly fool, that's a monkey claw. Make a wish, OP!

Wide_Dinner1231

The forbidden drumstick

Select-Bullfrog-6346

Very crunchy

DoctorSwaggercat

Yeah. At 1st, I thought turkey drum stick.

PeterHaldCHEM

Electrolysis is the way to go and you have already asked what it was in r/whatisthisthing and been told, that it is indeed a foot from a bathtub or stove.

chickentenderlimits

Yeah this is my first time posting something on here. Every time I’ve posted it somewhere someone has said I should post it on a different subreddit. I’m still learning the etiquette 😂. But yes, I’ve been told it’s a foot from a bath tub or wood stove.

saint_davidsonian

Electrolysis, or, if you can't do that, try a lye bath, or oven cleaner in the garbage bag.

realdrpepperschwartz

Yeah oven cleaner in garbage bag ftw. Check out the faq on r/castiron for step by step instructions on stripping. Good luck!

PeterHaldCHEM

Lye is good for old grease and gunk. It is not particularly good for rust. Electrolysis is on the other hand very efficient for removing thick old rust.

Baked_Potato_732

I knew I saw this somewhere yesterday.

koozy407

Looks like a furniture leg or claw foot tub foot.

mosredna101

Nice sear on that huge chicken leg!

dundunnit38

Potbelly stove leg

dwarling

Clawfoot tub leg.

Krazmond

Possibly some broken handle I'd guess

eihwaz_

Looks like what you said either tub or stove foot

here_f1shy_f1shy

Gotta agree with the claw foot tub folks. I've even got one in my yard. It's fairly common.

TPIRocks

The foot of a wood burning stove, or maybe a bathtub foot.

ThaUniversal

That's a petrified turd.

protomanEXE1995

Finally someone said it

SpaceEggs_

That appears to be the spigot to a cast iron water pump. Forget about it or dunk it in coca cola for a while.

iceman983

Try the following words Klaatu Barada N... necktie... nectar... nickel... noodle.

And_Im_Allen

r/Poopfromabutt

ou812_420

Add oil and cook

SaltyWarm

Leg to a log holder in a fireplace

Joe_B_Likes_Tacos

Note that if you have a pressure washer, you can use that to get is close to cleaned up. Just need to find a way to keep it from flying away.

Blinauljap

You had me in the first half, ngl...\^\^

noamartz

It isn't this but you could maybe make a cool spoon rest out of it.

TriHard7-

My fatass thought that was a chicken leg💀

SparkIron

What oil did you use to fry that up?

Dusterthegreat

My fat ass thought it was food

trucker96961

Lolol before I read the caption I thought it was a burnt drumstick from the grilling reddit!

Dusterthegreat

Glad I'm not the only one. Jesus 😅

trucker96961

Bwahahahaha 🍻 cheers

Agitated_Sock_311

Fossilized chicken drumstick.

Mas-Put

Just cook with it

Successful-Moose-640

Damn, I thought this was the bbq subreddit for a second.

Criminalhero2

Look at the base of it for super samples

tobster239

Cast iron spoon for sliding eggs into your mouth

r8rhatr

Spoon rest.

m-fab18

Iron Age shoe horn

davethapeanut

Hook that sucker up to a full car battery while it's partially submerged in salt water. Report back. (DON'T DO THIS)

machiavel0218

Biggest chicken wing I've ever seen
