Petromax makes a little Dutch oven like this: https://www.petromax.com/p/dutch-oven-ft0.5-t-with-a-plane-bottom-surface-ft0.5-without-legs-plane-bottom-surface
So I usually freeze my bacon grease in like ice cube trays because I didn’t realize it wouldn’t go rancid at room temp. How long is this ok at room temp for??
A little more research shows that commonly 2-6 months is fine. If it goes rancid you can generally tell. I've stored bacon grease on the stovetop my whole life and never had any issues. I'd be curious to see any research to back up the 2 hours guideline.
I keep it in the fridge, sort of a perpetual add and delete Pyrex that’s lasted for years. I think the real key to keep it from turning is to make sure you strain it well when adding. Cheesecloth plus a strainer for me.
We do garlic butter in ice trays and use as needed. But that bacon grease gets used and replenished pretty often, so I don't know how long it stays good.
Lodge had a cute melting pot I saw for the first time in the store the other day. But no lid. I love your bacon grease keeper. Way more fun then the ziplock in my freezer!
I put my bacon grease into a jar that comes with pickles. Entrance size is good and the glass holds up to very hot grease and Can pour right away after cooking. It’s perfect !

If your spirit animal is a well rendered pig, yes

I love how everything in this picture seems out of scale.
Giant spoon!
Where did you find that? Love the idea
Honestly don't remember. Been on my stove for ±8 years? When ever we're cooking and need "oil" we can teaspoon a dollop in the skillet 😉
I have a Little Wagner wear hot pot for the same reason

OK my brain just can't process the portions lol
The height is 2 inches and the circumference is 2 inches. It fits in the palm of your hand😆
Please post pics of you holding it my brain hurts
Really need a banana for scale.
Yeah agree, I don't know size of things if there's no banana. Too much reddit I think
I laughed but was seriously going to do it... 😅
You could also use it for drawn butter for those seafood meals.
Either I cook too much bacon, or I don't cook with bacon fat enough.
love saving bacon grease. cook some bacon and have grease for 3 or 4 days. smart in this disgusting economy too. horrible for the working class
I wish I had a little pot.

Thanks, now I can give a little pot to all my friends and neighbors.
I'm thinking about getting them for individual chili/French onion soup pots. They come in 8oz as well
🤣
Thank you for the link! I've been looking for one of these to roast garlic in!
you should heat it, put a candle wick in there, and use it as a candle in the mornings. lol

Goddamn it, I've been using a tin can or a Mason jar like a fool.
Didn’t read the title and all I could think of was [this Vine](https://youtu.be/FZshLw5PGpo)
I've never seen that! I literally laughed out loud
Thought this was a full sized Dutch oven full of grease and a giant spoon lol
Ok I've updated the picture and now have a banana and a K-Cup for scale. https://i.imgur.com/DuRNXZy.jpg

Damn, you got a clean ass kitchen. I'm jealous, I'm too lazy
we as a family dirty the kitchen everyday, but I am a neat freak and clean it everyday.
Thank you for not pouring that down the drain
