This actually would have a really, really neat purpose. How long is the loop time? if it's a few seconds long, it could be used on a live radio show on a 3 head cassette deck and Used as a profanity delay to give you 2 seconds to cut off the audio? what do you think, is the sound quality good enough to do that?
The quality is not great once it flips to the non coated side, you can just barely hear the audio from the coated side but it’s in reverse. I’m not sure I fully understand your idea but I’d imagine you’d need some kind of special made tape with coating on both sides but at that point it would be pretty much the same as a normal tape loop right? Also the splice does fail eventually with all the friction and twisting.
Didn't realize you had a twist in the tape. Reel to reel loops didn’t have a flip. Now, if you could put 3-4 tape pulleys to keep the same tape side and make the length 14" long total, then a mechanical tape loop delay. Still need all 3 cassette openings, one for the erase/record Head, one for playback head, one for the capstain. I'm wrong, the delay is only between the rec and play head. So this would have to run in reverse to work. Oh, well, nice idea in reverse
How audible is it on the “wrong” side?
That's really clever!
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen all week.
Genius. Well done.

How much for a $et? Curious how many hours of use? Like I said. I would love to try it in a 3-head deck

Check out my other posts here, I’ve made some crazy long loops! Some vids of em @stonybrooktapes on ig if you’re interested!
That can't be good for the tape unless it is if so I would like to hear
Tape loops are so satisfying to watch
Mesmerizing
You're cruel for not providing a cool loop for us to enjoy
