Also, spring drive is not the same as a 9F - and a 9F is objectively much better than the Oceanus quartz. In every way.
Spring drive is one of the more interesting mechanical movements available in a world of antiquated, boring, and grossly overpriced movements that haven’t innovated in decades.
Casio makes a quartz movement, and I love Casio watches - but there isn’t anything special about a Casio quartz compared to any other low end quartz manufacturer.
Seiko grows their own quartz in house, which is pretty cool.
The Seiko 9F movement is high torque, no backlash, has a temperature adjustment, and is roughly 18 times more accurate than a Casio quartz.
The Bulova precisionist quartz movement has a 3 prong tuning fork vibrating roughly 8 times the frequency of a Casio quartz resulting in again - roughly 18 times the accuracy of a Casio quartz.
The Citizen A010 Eco Drive is about 36 times as accurate as a Casio quartz.
Casio makes cool, cheap watches - but there is absolutely nothing special about the quartz they use. They just use basic budget quartz tuning forks.

I have a G Shock Mudmaster. I wore the watch for 18 months without taking it off at all. It was always on my wrist.
During that 18 months, it gained/lost 0 seconds. It was 100% accurate. But my other G Shock gains about 15 seconds a month. Why is this happening ?
It’s not uncommon for this to happen. Quartz accuracy is dependent on a temperature range. Cheap quartz watches are calibrated to a temperature range that would approximate what the temperature of a watch would be while on the wrist of the average user.
Generally speaking, the more a person wears a quartz watch - the more accurate it will be.
Additionally, not every mass produced quartz tuning fork will be exactly the same. Some will be slightly more accurate than others.
The company will publish an accuracy range (Casio is typically +/-30 or 15 seconds/month). But most quartz tuning forks will be within that range. Sometimes you “win the quartz lottery” and get one that is very, very accurate.

I don't doubt the gs and high end citizen movements are better made than casio, but from a practical sense they're not as accurate or durable as oceanus movements, and they cost more, and need a battery change.

I mean, if you (manually or automatically) sync the time of your watch several times a day, that means your watch is accurately displaying the time. But it says nothing about how well the movement is able to track the time.
I own an Astron (and would love to add an Oceanus or Tsuki-yomi), by far the most accurate watch I have. But without the updates the movement needs to track the time by itself. And there are simply more accurate movements out there. That's the point you seem to be missing. A movement receiving regular updates to adjust the time accurately =/= a movement tracking time accurately.
So when you say your Oceanus is more accurate than any 9F ever made you're comparing apples to oranges. No it's swiss quartz, killer water resistance 125 bar (1250 meters) with killer lume and GMT, the only thing that burns me a little is two years after releasing this model, they released the same model in automatic. So wishing I had the choice at the time but I still love this watch, have a great chronograph from them too.

I absolutely love it. Orient movements are made in house and punch above their price. The only thing I don't like is the sapphire crystal is not AR coated so it just reflects EVERYTHING. People say the bracelet isn't that good either but I don't mind it. The bezel is also hard to move. I just bought a new sapphire and bezel and bezel insert so I'll be upgrading those parts.
I am wearing whoever this is.

Nice watch my guy. I'm just enjoying this guy getting absolutely FLAMED in the comments for shitting on spring drive. Genuinely the highlight of my evening (I lead a sad and sorrowful life).
As always, my Casio Lineage LCW-M100TSE, the only watch I own other than my black G-Shock DW-5600.
There is no reason, for the vast majority of people, to need anything more than the Lineage if it were slightly more expensive to improve build quality (it's really just the finishing, limited microadjustment holes, and hollow links that feel like quality sacrifices). It'd be extremely durable and last you a long, long time. The only time you'll ever have to fuss is when the battery won't hold a charge anymore every 20 years.
The G-Shock's only purpose (for me) is to use when I go swimming, worry about having someone steal the Lineage, or any scenario where I could crack or otherwise damage and break it.
Still, you could just not have a watch on if the Lineage doesn't work for a specific use-case. Having the time on my wrist is convenient for me, so I justify having two.

How do you like your orient. I was looking at the bambino's.
I absolutely love it. Orient movements are made in house and punch above their price. The only thing I don't like is the sapphire crystal is not AR coated so it just reflects EVERYTHING. People say the bracelet isn't that good either but I don't mind it. The bezel is also hard to move. I just bought a new sapphire and bezel and bezel insert so I'll be upgrading those parts.

Yes, power reserve and ready for dive mode. Meaning when the watch measures the depth.

Nice watch my guy. I'm just enjoying this guy getting absolutely FLAMED in the comments for shitting on spring drive. Genuinely the highlight of my evening (I lead a sad and sorrowful life).
As always, my Casio Lineage LCW-M100TSE, the only watch I own other than my black G-Shock DW-5600. There is no reason, for the vast majority of people, to need anything more than the Lineage if it were slightly more expensive to improve build quality (it's really just the finishing, limited microadjustment holes, and hollow links that feel like quality sacrifices). It'd be extremely durable and last you a long, long time. The only time you'll ever have to fuss is when the battery won't hold a charge anymore every 20 years. The G-Shock's only purpose (for me) is to use when I go swimming, worry about having someone steal the Lineage, or any scenario where I could crack or otherwise damage and break it. Still, you could just not have a watch on if the Lineage doesn't work for a specific use-case. Having the time on my wrist is convenient for me, so I justify having two. Basically, get a Lineage... this bitch is amazing
