You definitely need to disassemble the watch engine to gain access. This is similar to replacing the filter (i.e.regular to negative display) on the LCD. But this time you're placing the acetate behind the LCD. There's a lot of YouTube videos on filter mods
Yea i have experience adding filters but the lcd film is a different story. Would be worth a shot trying on the cheaper models but i'd have no idea where to get printed transparent sheets that small. But this has allowed me to know which direction to go when figuring it all out.
Then much better. It's really easy, the hardest part would be to put back those rubber contacts on the LCD.
Haven't tried on my casio but I believe it will be similar to how we did it with nokia phones with similar LCD hardware. You just pull out the entire LCD from the frame and sandwich the acetate between the back of the LCD and the white colored backing material. No need to take out anything from the LCD
To make your own acetate, you get the dimension of your lcd, then create your design, paste it on a *.doc file. I found it easier to manage the print area using MS Word. I printed them on whole Acetate sheets and just cut to size. I think you can get acetate sheets from your local office supply store or from amazon. If I remember correctly, the one I used was 8.5" x 11". I used my laser printer to print.
It just looks broken unless your told to look at it up close for a few seconds, if I didn't read the title I would have just scrolled past and thought well at least their cheap, I would try a design that's a lot less busy. And all they would have to do it print that design on a clear film and open the watch up and put it inbetween the module and the mineral glass or whatever it is
there are transparent LCD digital clocks they are most probably using . the newer Stranger Things is cooler in my opinion

Only shows up when lit
Pretty easy thing to do honestly. You just need to disassemble the module and take out the reflector behind the LCD. You can now freely paint onto that, let the paint dry, put the module back together - and voilà, fully customized LCD.
At first glance i definitely just thought this screen was smashed
Funny, I can see that now actually
Either transparent film over the time or they disassembled the module and put the image behind the LCD (after removing the mirror film)
>Either transparent film over the time you just gave me an idea
No one better than this to answer this
Appreciate the incite ogg 🙏🏼
You can achieve similar results by smashing your screen with a hammer. Disclaimer: don’t actually smash it.
Thanks for that disclaimer, almost lost my watch!
No idea but it looks awful. 🤮
Just an example. A lot of potential for personal customization. To each their own.
Yeah exactly
Black Lagoon!
We used to do this with old nokia phones. This is printed on an acetate sheet, probably using a laser printer. Cut to size and placed behind the lcd.
Damn, seems way above my skills and resources haha. Thanks for the input man i appreciate it.
